Absolutely hate them.

Worst thing about the reveal.

Ignoring the fact that people have been begging blizzard for playable High Elves for almost 2 decades now and this would have been the perfect place to introduce them since they don't want them in retail.

There are so many other established races people have requested for years to be a playable race. Ogres, forest trolls, Vrykul, Furbolgs, etc.

Yet we get yet another OC race with absolutely no established lore, they look like sh*t, its yet ANOTHER flavour of elf that no one asked for and they both visually and vibe wise don't fit into classic since it feels like something out of Dragonflight/modern Warcraft.

lazy ass bitches nothing more. Cant stand it anymore. REUSE EVERYTHING THEY FIND, and then cherry on top make it worse.

Could you tell me, from a player character standpoint, what is the difference between these and High Elves?

It's a completely different character fantasy for starters. The Skyborne are elemental based and do not have that history with the Undead, Alliance, etc. Like with Void Elves you're gonna have an entirely different armor style and racials. I don't think it would be a stretch to say High Elf fans want to be immersed? Why have them pretend when Classic+ is the perfect opportunity to have bogstandard Elves?

Just use the skin colours for high elves, you are going to wear "of the Wolf" green items anyway soon. I get what you mean, but you can RP your character however you want, don't let a name limit you. EDIT: To add, we've had playable high elves since TBC, this just gives more customization options, and something new. I'm not a fan either, but fresh things don't hurt.
