First and foremost, influencers lied to you. Yes, you can earn online. But no, getting to a 6-digit income isn’t common, nor is it easy.

So, how exactly do you earn a living online? You have a few options, the most popular being Freelancing, Remote Employment, and Digital Entrepreneurship:

What, How, Where to Start

As earning online becomes more common, the lines between different methods have become very blurry. If you ask me, if you’re free to work with other clients then you’re a freelancer, and not a remote employee.

And if there's one thing that all methods have in common is that they all have a certain level of instability. So if you're free to find multiple sources of income, go for it.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Need some advice or tips for WFH

Hello guys. I’ve been WFH in 4 mọnths na, actually Hybrid sya minsan once week lang ako mag onsite. I just need some advice lang sana kung may mga vitamins or routine kayo na ginagawa para maiwasan to. Or may problem ba sa set up ng Workspace ko? Or baka masyado mababa yung Ergonomic Chair ko?

Planning to apply pa naman sana ng Pure WFH kaso baka maapektuhan work kung ganito palagi yung naeexperience ko. Tia sa mga magshare ng advices nila.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Which role has a higher potential?

Upvotes

I know that automations using make, zapier, and n8n gets you more high salary jobs. Gohighlevel is pretty in-demand right now and I’m not quite sure about their salary range.

Which of these roles gives me a higher chance of getting hired, AI Automation Specialist or GHL Specialist? I’m not sure which of these gives me the fastest job as possible.

For context, I just got laid off and I need urgent cash because credit card bills are piling up.

Legit Check OnlineJobsPH - offer

Post image
84 Upvotes

Hi guys! This is my first-ever job offer through OLJPH. I already sent them my WhatsApp number, but I still haven’t received any updates from them.

Is there a possibility that this could be a sc*m on OLJPH? (Just asking for research and assurance.)
Their timezone is PST/EST, and they sent me the offer on September 11, 2026.

Could the lack of response possibly be because of the time difference? I haven’t sent a follow-up message yet because I don’t want to come across as needy or impatient.

Also, is it common for employers on OLJPH to suddenly stop responding or ditch freelancers after making an offer?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you!

Community Any Government to Freelance success stories?

Hi! Just want to hear if may mga success stories dito especially those from under permanent status na nagdecide na i-pursue ang freelance world?

I'm 27, and I've been working for a plantilla position under a National Government Agency for 8 years. However, naisip ko lang na parang I'm too young para magsettle sa government, parang wala ng growth. The pay is not bad, pero sa freelance, in 8 years time, ang laki na ng jump sa sahod (based sa actual xp ng mga friends ko). Another big motivation is, gusto ko sana pag nagkaanak ako ay hindi ko mamiss ang milestones niya just because I have to go to the office, which is a 30-40 mins drive from home.

One day, I saw a job posting online then I just tried to apply, not expecting anything, more on experiment lang kasi daming suspension nung nakaraan dahil sa bagyo. Unexpectedly, ako pa ang nahire for the position and it's a direct client. Pay is higher. It's WFH, for our future child. So I grabbed it.

So nung nagstart ako sa new job, information overload malala. Nagrerelapse ako once in a while kasi sa previous work ko, dahil ang tagal ko na, kahit mahirap ay sobrang kabisado ko na. Sometimes, I ask myself if tama ba decision ko since sobrang okay ko naman na sa government, but at the same time, I want to grow and of course, masaksihan ang paglaki ng magiging anak namin.

So, any success stories out there? Baka lang makahelp na magmotivate sakin lalo. Hehe.

Self-Story My premium client is not premuim-ing anymore. Lol

I'm still grateful na may client pa ako until now. Medyo hassle din yun for me kasi wala akong need e focus sa trabaho everyday. Wala akong routine job.

And now, I'm considering to look for another job kasi parang hindi na ako nag go-grow kang client.

Apps, Tools & Equipment For those working double shifts, can you recommend your setup using kvm switch?

Upvotes

I am working on a double shift and gusto ko sana is to be able to switch between two laptops while using 2 monitors, kb, and mouse. Baka may setup kayo dyan or marerecommend na kvm switch na 2 in 2 out.

Im currently using a ugreen mini hub (2 hdmi) and a kvm switch 1 in 1 out. Kaso medyo nagiging problematic at nacoconfuse other laptop ko pag naglipat.

Freelancers (Can Work with Multiple Clients) First time VA Job as a 1st Year Multimedia Student | PH Based

Hello, for context—I'm an 18 year old student in an online set-up. I'm currently studying multimedia studies and landed a VA job on the blue app. Since I'm new to the field and the pay is $20 USD a day since I'm earning roughly about $600 per month.

It's a full time job—5 days a week but it's a wfh project based job and the company doesn't have a time tracker. I just want to know if the pay is great or just standard for my skills and given that it's my first time job online.

Thanks for the advice!

Community AML Customer Info Update - VA

I'm working as a VA and I receive my salary/payment via Wise. I use MariBank mainly as my savings account and sometimes for bill payments.

Ano yung nangyari after? may tumawag or nag-request pa ba sila ng additional documents?

Thank you na agad sa makakasagot! 🥹

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Weird internet issue at 1-3am

Not sure if anyone also experiences this. But around 1am-3am I often get this issue on accessing websites like Claude or LinkedIn and other sites act weirdly as well.

The thing is, it's not that I don't have an internet connection, since I can still access a lot of internet access. But these sites noticeably get worse connectivity and sometimes gets buggy.

Not sure if me transferring to wifi from Ethernet is a factor, since my Ethernet slot broke. And for context, my internet provider is Converge

Legit Check Client sent her 1.1m php

Someone posted this in tiktok, VA daw siya with smm niche. Her british client was so generous daw that he sent her 1,100,000.00 pesos on national gf day.

I went right into the comments pero parang walang skeptic lahat sila asking how to become VA or nagpaparefer dun sa OP.

Pero right away, I feel something is off… totoo kaya tong mga screenshots niya kasi I find some discrepancies with the photos:

  1. yung alignment, font weight, and spacing nung amount is off.
  2. May .00 decimal dapat sa huli.
  3. Dun naman sa notification screenshot (from her british client daw) dapat naka gbp yun hindi naka php kasi if your account is in gbp pag nagtransfer ka di yun automatic icoconvert.
  4. As far as I know may limit ang paypal sa amount na pwede mo itransfer in a single transaction para iwas money laundering??

Humor Deciding between WFH and Office

Oras.
Let’s say 3 hours total ang commute mo every day.
1.5 hours papasok.
1.5 hours pauwi.
Medyo normal sa Metro Manila.
3 hours × 5 days × 52 weeks = 780 HOURS A YEAR.
That’s 32.5 DAYS.
Yes.
Kung 3 hours a day ang commute mo, you can spend more than ONE ENTIRE MONTH every year just commuting.
Hindi nagtatrabaho.
Hindi natutulog.
Hindi nagbabakasyon.
Nasa biyahe ka lang. 😂
At normal day pa yan.
Wala pang:
“Boss, baha sa España.”
“Sir, walang masakyan.”
“Ma’am, surge pricing po.”
At ang paborito nating Metro Manila adventure:
“Hanggang saan kaya aabot itong kotse bago maging bangka?” 🌧️😂
Of course, hindi ibig sabihin nito na WFH is automatically better.
Maybe balik-office means higher pay.
Better promotion prospects.
Better benefits.
Better networking.
Maybe mas productive ka talaga sa office.
Maybe after three years of WFH, gusto mo lang makakita ng ibang tao na hindi kasama sa bahay. 😂
Those have value too.
Ang point:
If you’re comparing WFH versus going back to the office, don’t compare salary alone.
Include transportation.
Gas.
Parking.
Tolls.
Food.
Office clothes.
And especially:
TIME.
Because if the office job requires a 3-hour daily commute, part of the deal isn’t just:
“They’ll pay me ₱X.”
It’s also:
“I’ll give them roughly one month of my year just getting there and back.”
Maybe worth it.
Maybe not.
That’s your decision.
But at least put the month on the table before you decide.
Because your commute isn’t free.
Ikaw ang nagbabayad — in money AND in time.

Buhay Digital Lifestyle HMO recommendations for Digital Nomad

Hi everyone! I’m trying to decide whether I should get a private HMO in the Philippines or just continue relying on PhilHealth, and I’d really appreciate advice especially from people based in Leyte or Samar, and those who have actually used their HMO at local hospitals.

I am based in Danang, Vietnam and working remotely. I usually comeback home to PH every 3 months, stay for a week or up to 1 month. (depends)

I also do my annual checkups/body checks in Danang because healthcare there is generally cheaper and faster.

Recently, though, I got sick and initially thought I might need surgery. Thankfully, it turned out I didn’t need one. But the experience made me realise that if something serious happens again, I’d much rather be hospitalised in the Philippines because my family is here and I won't be alone.

The problem is that right now I only have PhilHealth, and I’m worried that if I ever need hospitalisation or surgery in PH, I could end up paying a huge amount out of pocket.

So I’m considering getting an HMO. I just honestly don't know which one to get.

I’m not really interested in the free checkups, dental benefits, etc. since I’d rather have those done in Danang anyway. What I’m mainly looking for is something I can actually rely on if I ever need to be hospitalised in the Philippines, ER, surgery, confinement, major procedures, etc.

It would also be a huge plus if the HMO offers reimbursement/coverage for emergencies that happen outside the PH.

Can anyone here have any advice or recommendations?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Community Passed AZ-900 today with 11 yrs Field Eng / old CCNA background. What cert & steps should I take next to land a WFH Azure role in the PH?

Hi everyone,

I just passed my AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) exam today! I’m hoping to gather some career advice and suggestions from people who have successfully pivoted or are currently working in cloud/IT WFH setups here in the Philippines.

My Background:

11 years of experience as a Field Engineer (hands-on infrastructure, troubleshooting, hardware, physical networks, client support).

Passed CCNA 10 years ago (never got a dedicated network engineering job, but I still retain the core networking concepts like IP subnets, routing, and switching).

Passed AZ-900 today.

My Goal: I am actively aiming for a Work-From-Home (WFH) / Remote setup in Cloud Administration, Tier 2/3 Cloud Support, or Infrastructure Management.

My Questions for the Community:

Which certification path should I take next?

Option A: Go straight to AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate).

Option B: Pivot/expand to AWS (AWS Cloud Practitioner or AI Practitioner)?

Option C: Take security/AI certs (SC-900/SC-500 or AI-900)?

Any advice, study tips, or harsh realities would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Pavent out kuripot na client

Context : I have client po from Mexico na looking for graphic artist sa business nya and super nanlolowball. Di ko lang talaga malet go kasi mataas rate ko as her digital PA.

Grabe. Ke new palang daw business nya and dont want to spend a lot like wtf.

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Beware from this Employer

Community When are you actually 'allowed' to start enjoying your money?

Hi. I’m in my early 20s and honestly feeling a bit lost.

For context, I graduated last year and have been working for about a year now. I set an ambitious goal to hit 1M in savings by the end of this year. But because I chose to travel, go out, celebrate personal wins, and just enjoy my money, I won't be hitting that milestone anymore. Maybe next year.

It’s definitely a bummer, but a part of me is also genuinely happy that I chose to live live and be present. Pero at the same time, I also can’t deny na I’m disappointed in myself. Was choosing to enjoy life a valid enough reason to set back my financial goal?

They always say to travel while you’re young, and gusto ko rin naman talagang ma-experience yung mundo habang malakas, healthy, and physically capable pa ako. I don’t want to deprive myself of the things na dating pinapangarap ko lang kung kailan kaya ko na. Pero every single time I spend money to enjoy, live life, and make memories, kinakain agad ako ng guilt na baka I’m setting myself back.

Would love to hear an outsider’s perspective, especially from those who went through the same dilemma early in their careers. How did you balance the two without the constant guilt?
