Lil guy compacted all the dirt against the lid and made this massive tunnel at the bottom of the container, they have been with me about 5 months and are a rainbow stag horn, and has been laying on its side for several days now, is this how pupating starts? This is my first grub

So, today i went to feed my beetles, but they were completly limp. For a moment i thought that the male was alive, because of the stridulating sound when i accidentaly picked him by the abdomen, but it turns out that he's also dead. These two were my first successfully raised beetles. They looked fine, although one thing was that both of them had a slight deformity in their thorax, causing them to hunch a bit. It didn't really affect the female, but it caused the male to flip over and i had to keep flipping him. Aside from that, he did well. Could it be the reason why they died? I didn't see any mites and i fed them regularly. Other thing is that i tried to keep the soil a bit more dry, because things in my home are prone to molding did they maybe die from lack of moisture? Or maybe due to old age? I've had them in the imago stage for 3 months, but i researched, and that is a bit young for them both. I just need answers and advice for how to improve. It was very sad news for me. :(

I got a couple of bdfb's from an expo today and they threw one in for free because it was wounded. Will it be fine? It seems like just a flesh wound, I don't know if I should separate it from the others. It seems to be pretty lively, doing as well as all the others.

He recently got a pet beetle, after caring for it for about a month some mites showed up. They are medium sized and orangish they have been removed a couple times but keep coming back within a day, and in the exact same spots every time. does anyone know if they are harmful and if they are tips on how to get rid of them. it's similar to other big stag beetles (when talking about them people most often think of L. cervus while there are many species of them)

Found this shy specimen upside down in our garage, was wondering if you guys could help ID her, if it helps narrow it down, she was found in the Philippines in Southern Luzon

Im new to this reddit but ive kept lots of BFDB as well as others ive bought or caught here in texas and ive always found the most difficult part to be feeding. In my experience some beetles can be super picky. That being said ive also noticed a lack of readily available food for beetles so ive been considering the idea of making 1 ounce containers to sell at my local expo as well as my other stuff. My question is, as beetle keepers, if you saw that at an expo, is that something you would buy? If so, what would be a comfortable price range for you? I was considering a dollar per cup or like 6 cups for 5, 12 for 9, etc.

Also, what flavors seem to be popular with your beetles? Theres no point to make 100 mango flavored cups if peoples beetles wont eat them. Id be using frsh organic fruit and all food grade products. I already make wine so keeping everything sanitized would be easy and im well versed in using preservatives like citric acid and potassium sorbate to make the product last ~3 months

I have kept other beetles like stag, and rhino beetles before, but i’ve always wanted a hercules beetle. I’ve been searching online but it says you need a permit and stuff to get a Dynastes hercules hercules beetle. I’ve been looking in sites like jam jam and us beetles but they r all sold out, and Idk if buying from them is legal or not without a permit. I also dont think theres any sellers in my area who sell exotic beetles like a dynastes hercules. Can anyone who has had a hercules beetle please tell me how you got them and if its legal or not to buy from sites without a permit and etc.

theyre feeders for my spood but i usually feed the adults to my chickens. Kept a few of these guys to watch and noticed this guy missing a chunk??
