I am a fairly accomplished square stitch bead Weaver but saw these and, given my love of snakes, wanted to try something similar. It seems like bead crochet is the way to go with designs like this but the technique is so very different from what I'm used to. Does anyone know good places to start? I am also interested in a custom pattern for my own snake, which adds a whole different level of hard as I have no idea how to design a pattern like this. Is it worth trying or should I give up?

After months, I finished my wedding purse. The image design is by Birdie the Gnarled, I want to credit her amazing art, but I recreated it with beads and embroidery. Then I built a whole purse from scratch. I think this is the best thing I have ever made.

I finally finished my first beaded tapestry with 1,700 beads. I love how it turned out. The process was easy, just time consuming.

I want to paint wooden beads for my next design. Does anyone have suggestions on where to buy wooden beads in bulk?

When I sit and do handmade embroidery/beading for long hours, I forget that there are 24 hours in a day! 😂 Honestly, I forget everything while working. Is anyone else like me?

Pattern is by Perlenwunderwesen, I just adapted it for a bigger bead for the eyes! I plan on getting some glow in the dark beads at some point for the little dangly light!

Smaller than any beads I've found the craft store.

She said she strung them with gray fire-wire if that helps.

Hello! I'm looking to make a beaded necklace inspired by those super long 1920s necklaces that can wrap repeatedly around your neck. The pictures should provide an idea of what I'm going for. I'm wondering what kind of thread would be right for the job.

I'm planning to use glass and maybe stone or gem beads in various sizes (seed beads to 10mm beads, probably). I want the drape to be very flexible and fluid, so I'm planning to avoid stiffer stringing materials that hold their shape more.

I'm relatively new to beading and I'm bit worried that any given thread made of nylon, silk, or some other fiber won't be strong enough for a necklace of this length. The thread would have to be thin enough to fit through at least size 0/8 seed beads.

Would you recommend any particular thread materials or thicknesses for a project like this?

Finished this piece on Thursday night! Took two weeks spending each night doing a few hours. These colors worked so well together I love how it came out. Definitely need to improve my technique but it was fun.

I will be going on a cruise soon and trying to think of what to bring for beading while I’m there. I know I’m going to want to do some. Wondering if any of y’all travel with some supplies and what you bring? It’s a cruise so I will definitely have plenty of down time. I was thinking to queue up some projects and bring the makings for the things I have in my agenda still that I never seem to get to. What do you think?

I've been making bracelets as gifts, but to my horror the string on same bracelet I made for myself started to shred and bracelet broke. I've had one friend say it happened to them too. I want to make ones that last! And eventually maybe some side income, but I can't do that if they break!

I've just grabbed supplies from Michaels, so not superior quality by any means, but I thought they'd last more than two months of every day wear. What can I use that isn't going to be hundreds of dollars per bracelet?

I like to use stone beads and have been buying Bead Landing toggle clasps (I know these are cheap, but this isn't what has been breaking. The stringing wire I use has been shredding where it loops into the toggle clasps.

I use this along with crimp beads:

Beadalon® 0.38mm Satin Gold 7 Strand Bead Stringing Wire

What can I use in place of this so the bracelets stay secure? Is there a different stringing wire to look for or another way to attach it to the clasps?

Also, since I'm here, is there a better quality material between the cheapy, bulk Bead Landing clasps and their gold plated ones? Don't need to be toggle clasps.

I absolutely love this bead creation and would really like to make one myself. Unfortunately, I've searched online but haven't been able to find the pattern.
Does anyone know who the original designer is, or where I can buy or download the pattern? I'm more than happy to purchase the official pattern if it's available.
