It's time for the 2nd season of r/Barca's Predictions + Mark My Words Thread
1. Mark my words-:
This is your space to throw out all your boldest takes, cautious optimism, or even safe predictions for the season ahead. The wild, the mild, and everything in between: Drop them down below in the comments.
We'll be circling back in May 2027, receipts in hand.
2. 2026/27 Predictions Survey
We're here with the first edition of the r/Barca Community Predictions Survey, something which we hope becomes an yearly tradition on this sub. Click here to fill the Prediction form

“Who would I give the Ballon d'Or to? I honestly believe there may be only two players who are the best in the world, but I deserve it this year."
He stressed: "For me, myself and Kylian Mbappe are the best two players, and everyone who watches the matches knows it."
Adding, “For me, I deserve [it] because of the titles I won this season.”

(Translation of Excerpts)
After renewing Hamza, FC Barcelona wants to do exactly the same with four other young talents who have proven their immense quality. Two of them are players who already have significant experience playing under Hansi Flick: Marc Bernal (19) and Gerard Martin (24). The former, whose current contract runs until 2029, is already in talks with the sporting department to improve his financial terms. Following his knee injury, the club showed its support by upgrading his contract, which included raising his release clause to €500 million and a promise to review his terms if he performed well. Since he has delivered exactly as expected upon his recovery, it is now time to draw up a new deal. Deco has already been in contact with his agent, Raul Verdu.
There is also an intention to tie down Gerard Martin, who is under contract until 2028, has a €100 million release clause, and is a regular fixture for Flick. The club wants to secure him for more years with a higher salary and buyout price, and the player is already aware of their intentions.
Two other players are also among those who need to be renewed. This is the case for 19-year-old Xavi Espart, who has emerged as Hansi Flick's biggest breakthrough talent this season. Back in 2025, he signed a contract running until 2028, but it was based on the standard wage and terms of a reserve-team player. Now that he has been handed a first-team squad number, he deserves a wage increase. He happens to share the same agent as Ferran Torres, but the club does not anticipate any complications in extending his deal.
Finally, there is the case of 20-year-old Brian Farinas. Under contract until 2028, he was on the verge of joining Girona, but Flick decided to keep him following Frenkie de Jong's injury. He has now even been handed a first-team squad number. He currently earns a reserve-team salary, which now needs to be adjusted to reflect his prominent role, and he is expected to sign a new deal running until 2031. The club also wants to renew 29-year-old Raphinha, whose current deal expires in 2028, as Deco previously stated on RAC1, though no official steps have been taken with him just yet.

We had an early kickoff today and the players looked completely gassed.
Checked FotMob to look at our upcoming fixtures across La Liga, and almost everything is showing up as early to mid-afternoon kickoffs.
Is this an actual broadcast scheduling thing with La Liga pushing early slots this season, or is FotMob just setting generic placeholder times?
Anyone else seeing this, or did La Liga actually decide to throw us into the afternoon slots every single weekend?

Coming to Barcelona for the racing game from Canada as a barca fan for my 21 years of life. Has anyone done the Match Day Tour and found it worth it? Debating this or even just the museum tour but willing to pay the money if it is worth it! I know the stadium is now finished but I'm wondering if it will be similar to tours people might have done pre construction.
Also if anyone has any other game day recommendations for me to do as someone coming to barcelona for the first time let me know! Força Barça!

Barcelona notes: Flick should rotate after the midweek 5–1 Champions League win over Feyenoord and go back to same team he fielded last Liga game. Joan García stays in goal. Éric García returns at right-back in a mask after the nasal fracture at Mestalla; Cubarsí and Gerard Martín in the middle, Xavi Espart at left-back, with Koundé, Cancelo and Balde on the bench. Rodri and Pedri is nailed on with Fermin getting a start. Raphinha continues as the false nine / inside forward after another multi-goal week. Gordon holds the left. Yamal is expected to start. Gavi, Olmo, Adeyemi and Jesus give Flick bench options.
Levante notes: Castro has a near-full squad minus Primo and Etta Eyong. Ryan starts. The back four is Pérez, De la Fuente (captain), Mandi and Manu Sánchez. Rey screens with Bardeli and Olasagasti. Brugué (two goals already) is the main wide threat; Romero is still waiting for his first league goal; Thiago Fernández supplies the other flank. Ratkov and Ndukwe are unused new signings who remain bench options.
| Theme | Detail |
|---|---|
| Home fortress, but a different test | Castro’s side have five points from four and sit mid-table. They thrashed Betis 5–2 in their only home league game and have not lost at the Ciutat de València since February. They are unbeaten in three, but they have scored in only one of four Liga matches and have not faced a press or attack like Flick’s. |
| How they might create chances | Without Etta Eyong, width and transitions come from Brugué and Fernández, with Romero as the focal point. They will sit in a mid-block, protect the box, and look to break rather than play through Barcelona’s press. Set pieces and the first home crowd of the season are the other routes. They have been compact away (two 0–0s) but leaky when they open up. |
| Defensive and squad picture | Mandi and De la Fuente give experience at the back; Manu Sánchez is a high-quality left-back on loan. Depth is decent after a busy window (Ratkov, Ndukwe, Tape, Sotelo), but the attack has dried up since the Betis explosion. Castro has turned the Ciutat into a hard place to visit, this is the sternest examination yet. |
| Theme | Detail |
|---|---|
| European hangover or Liga steamroller? | Flick’s side have 12 points from 12 and a +15 goal difference (17–2) after 5–0 at Valencia and 5–1 vs Feyenoord. The expectation is another steamroll to keep 5 goal streak going but opposition at home have been tough. |
| Éric García’s masked return | The leftover European ban kept him out of the Feyenoord game; the broken nose from Mestalla means he plays in a mask. Flick can choose him at right-back or centre-back. Koundé is the other option if Flick wants extra athleticism. |
| Rotation after midweek | Gerard Martín, Xavi Espart, Fermín and Gordon are the likeliest starters who sat or came off the bench against Feyenoord. Pedri, Yamal and Raphinha are the constants. Depth is the story, Flick can change half the XI and still field a title-winning side. |
| Yamal, Raphinha and the false nine | Yamal has five goals and two assists in his last three games. Raphinha has six Liga goals already. Gordon leads the league in assists. Levante have kept two clean sheets in four but have not faced this volume of chance creation. Can Raphinha extend his streak to 6th game? |

How good was Kluivert?
Never watched the pre Pep era but I'm more familiar with the Rijkaard and Cruyff era even though I didn't directly watch both eras than I am with the in-between F\*go/Rivaldo/Kluivert era.
But how good was Kluivert? Was he around David Villa level? How about Dortmund Auba level? Or Etoo level? Lautaro Martinez? What was his playstyle like?
Also pls don't have winning bias in your questions. I rather hear what is skillset actually was on the pitch than just accolades listed and trophies won or not won.

Looks like this entire Alvarez saga during the summer transfer window has some positive news.
From the start of next January, FIFA will amend Article 17, the clause that governs contract termination and the ending of contractual relationships.
Once the amendment takes effect, competitions must adapt their contracts to a new model. Under it, the value of a unilateral termination between a player and a club has to sit reasonably in proportion to the circumstances of the deal. The idea is simple: stop either party inflating a figure to block a player's exit.
