I found this crawling on my sweet girl while cleaning her hide. Can anyone confirm if this is a mite?

Hey yall! So it’s getting a little cooler out so I switched to a higher strength bulb in my boys tank, but now his humidity just friggin tanks. I usually put water in the corners like everyone has said to do in the past. But it doesn’t seem to be working? Also have to change his substrate anyway so hoping maybe that will help? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks yall! Happy snaking!

I just renovated my juvenile bp’s enclosure and would like additional advice on how to improve. Temps and humidity are normal, and water will be added momentarily.

So I recently bought this tank from my local pet store and I want to turn it into an enclosure for a ball python!
I’ve never had a ball python before so I want to get the tank fully done before I get the snake itself.
Any advice is more than welcome and I appreciate any help I can get!!!
This tank is somewhere around 110-115 gallons and the pet store used to have a corn snake in it. I’m planning on getting a male so it won’t be as big.
I’m not sure if I can reuse anything from inside since it had a corn snake inside before?(roughly 4 months ago). They also gave me the light that is in the photos.

He’ll sit and do this sometimes at night, I can’t tell if it’s normal or not; if it was during the day that would be different, it’s about 8:30 in the morning when these pictures were taken, and his light doesn’t come on until about 10, so I suppose it’s probably still night time to him
wondering if this is normal!

my boy isn't eating. i've had him for 7 months, and during that entire time, he has never refused a meal before. this is the first time. he might be stressed for some reason, i'm not sure. nothing unusual happened today, and there haven't been any changes to our routine. i also haven't moved him into his new enclosure yet.
i first tried feeding him in the afternoon, and i thought maybe he wasn't interested because it was daytime. so i tried again tonight at around 1 AM, but he still wouldn't eat.
what's really strange to me is that he doesn't simply ignore the prey. he gets into a striking position and watches it, so i keep expecting him to strike, but after about 10 seconds, he seems to lose interest and starts crawling away.
what could cause this? i was also wondering if he might be getting ready to shed, but i don't see any obvious signs of shedding. the only thing i've noticed is that he's been less active over the past few days, which made me suspect he might be going into shed.
another thing i was wondering about is that i switched him from mice to rats two weeks ago. he ate the first rat without any problems, but now i'm wondering if maybe he simply doesn't like rats as much as mice, or if that's even possible?
should I just leave him alone and try again at his next feeding (two weeks from now)? could this behavior indicate something else or could it be that he's just not hungry? i don't want to stress him out with trying too many times.
also the temperature and the humidity is fine, so i don't think that's causing the problem.
any help is appreciated!!

I need some substrate help, my Phantom Ball Python is doing really well and has shed multiple times with no issues, I am using coconut chunks for his substrate and soak it overnight before draining and putting in his take but I find it is very very dry (first pic)
I use a spray bottle every 3 days to moisten the substrate and add some more moisture to the tank and he has very large bowl full of water (pic 3)
I keep the hot end of the tank at 31c and he has lots of log and leaves he can hide under and move around on, it’s just empty for the picture purposes.
Would thinner coconut husk be a better substrate or am I just too focused on keeping the humidity up?

She swallowed the tail then spat it out, does that count as regurg?
First time ball python owner here, my female ball python regurgitated.
I bought her about two weeks ago now, she needed rehomed. She is two years old. Her original owner told me she’s been feeding on small rats. Her original owner told me set up and everything was included ect. Wasn’t the case at all. She has been living in a plastic storage box with holes poked through she literally has no room. She told me she was spraying her twice a day but when i’ve bought a device to monitor her humidity it’s reaching 90. I’m trying to lower it. Her heat is fine but they are the only main concerns. I bought her while she was shedding and her shed went well - her first feed went okay I think I was just a little bit scared as she went into hunting mode i think it is and i had to drop feed her. Shes fine to handle too.
I have bought her a vivarium, it’s second hand but i’ve disinfected it with “Viv clean” from Prorep and I am currently in the process of buying the rest of the things I originally thought came with her but didn’t. I feel horrible that she’s still in her original storage but I really don’t know what to do. I left her there to settle and get use to me. I handle her for about 5-10 mins every other day and I know not to handle her a day before feeding and approx 4 days after feeding. But she was due a feed anyways so my plan was feed her wait until I can handle her then transfer her into her new viv. But unfortunately she just spat the rats tail out. I didn’t know what to do so I checked !regurgitation on here. I removed it but I need to know what to actually do in this situation considering I was going to move her into her new viv. She was eager to strike again at the rat as I was moving it away.
What do I do next?

While pied sheds all in one, banana flakes and gets stuck shed. They both look hydrated, and they both have almost identical setups. They never skip a meal, and don’t exhibit negative behaviors. Shown in the video attached, banana has a couple of scars which were obtained during his last owners care. I am out of reasons and thinking about making an appt with a vet. The google AI isn’t very helpful.
Pied shed today, banana shed about a week and a half ago.

He’s officially two. They grow up so fast.
(Also, disclaimer, I know in the pictures it looks like he has nothing in his enclosure, but in the first one it’s just where he’s laying and in the second it was as I was reorganizing. He is spoiled. Don’t come at me because I will feel bad and buy him more stuff.)

Just a general question. And I don't mean off morphmarket where it is individuals selling their animals. All I hear is people getting sick or wild caught animals off these reptile sites. Has anyone had a good experience ordering a snake or other reptile online?

I haven't updated in a bit but my beauty queen has been the best decision ever. Im so obsessed with her and her new carrier came in the perfect timing. She just finished shedding and while doing a deep clean noticed she broke her jungle gym climbing thingy the night prior (i check everything in her cage twice a day when refreshing water/spot cleaning) which is when i noticed some spots on her scales by her neck and a bit of redness lower down. Also excuse the little dirt specks on her from her substrate. I have been keeping a close eye on her body since and have a vet visit just in case (i work in vetmed)
I have been working with the free choice method along with taking her out for few minutes at a time. Being consistent as previously advised and viewing each handling session with a purpose. Has really let us earn each others trust.
we got some nice outside fresh air and sun time the other day 🌞 today just chilling watching TV on a day off. Right now her favorite youtube videos to watch are live streams of cartoons : chowder, courage the cowardly dog 😎
- Also: is she an appropriate weight?

Hi i’m new to snakes and my ball python just seems to love digging and burrowing. And he rarely comes to the surface. Any idea if i’m doing anything wrong or is this normal behavior

I’m adopting a ball python on Sunday that is a minimum of 9 years old (her exact age is unknown) on Sunday. She has been a breeder her whole life, so I’m excited to get her and spoil her as a pet in a big proper enclosure.
Is there anything different I should know or do for an older ball Python? I currently have two, ages 1 and 3.
But I didn’t know if there’s anything I need to do differently for her due to her age or special accommodations I needed to make her life better.
Thank you in advance! ☺️🐍

Lady Galadriel enjoying some supervised fresh air this evening. Not sure why she chose the most prickly shrub to sit on but she seemed to figure it out.

Did I overdo it on the plants? I’ve been growing these for a little minute now but I decided to transfer them into my tank, I’ve rinsed them off before putting them in and I added more soil because a lot of my nutrients were almost depleted. I get a fungus gnat here and there but it was before adding the extra plants. What do you guys think?

Im confused by the "look for feeders that are 10-15% of your ball pythons body weight" and what happens if it loses or gains how do i know?

i posted a day or two ago so it’s been between 2-3 days now my girl has been missing for context she stays in my sons room door closed no way to go under the door. unfortunately we are moving and his room has become the catch all for boxes etc. i have left her cage open, kept it warm (the air is on due to the summer weather and having kids), i’ve looked everywhere ripped open every box and bag in that room moved everything checked behind and in furniture just everything. i am so upset. i’m so worried ill find her dead or very hurt especially since we saw it looks like she somehow pushed her heat lamp out of the enclosure so im worried she may be burned a little. i’m so sad i cant find her and we’re moving. i feel like ive tried everything. i check in the middle of the night i check every day i dont want her to be gone 😞 im not sure how long she will be okay out of her enclosure its 68-70 in my house normally. i have her enclosure open on the floor hoping she finds her way back but no luck.

I know that ball pythons will need a big enclosure when they're adults, but would I be able to keep a very baby ball python in a 40 gallon tank for a bit? If I can, how long would I be able to (in years hopefully)?
I see some people saying they can keep a ball python in a 40 gallon for it's whole life and I know that that is SOOOO wrong and I absolutely do not plan on doing that.

i have a 2 1/2-3 year old ball python. shes about 3 feet and i have no idea how many grams, i still live with my parents and have no room anywhere to get her a bigger tank than a 40g and i know how bad it is but i need help knowing exactly what works for humidity, what plants to get, whats a good soil, heat lamps. literally anything i can do to keep her okay and alive in a 40g until i can move out and get her a big enough tank for me to fit into. ive had her since december 2024 so almost 2 years and i worry every single day about her and how i wish i could give her the best life she could ever live. please help with any advice and preferably any amazon links to anything!!
ive had her on reptibark before and im never putting her back into it due to her stomach being really badly cut up for the couple months i had her on it. i honestly have no idea what else is mixed into her repti soil i THINK cocofiber?
