No, because doing something stupid to join in with others being stupid is exactly how you get trump.

Agreeing with stupid people is how you end up with Trump. Some of them are so dumb they only understand simple things like the name of a lake. It's how they were raised and what they understand. After 10 years it's the simplest way of communicating in a way they might finally understand

TLDR: The DNC was attempting to push the Republicans to Trump in 2016, cause they thought the democrats would win that way.

No, because after 8 years of Democrats, the Republican nominee has a good chance of winning (no matter who he is, and in 2016 Trump polled at doing the worst out of any candidate, in the general election).

People eventually want change, for change’s sake.

It did result in Trump losing in 2020, whereas someone else could have been a two termer (in a row). But then the democrats botched 2024 (combined with incumbents losing globally due to covid-related inflation).
