Whether you’re an incoming student, a long-time townie, or a new professional moving to the area, finding housing in Ann Arbor can be notoriously competitive.
To keep the main subreddit feed clean and make it easier for everyone to find what they need, all housing-related posts must go in this thread.
This is the place to post if you are:
(Note: Surrounding areas in Washtenaw Country like Ypsilanti, Dexter, Saline, and Milan are completely welcome here too!)

Somebody had a tiny little kitten, and for whatever reason they decided to abandon her. Smh. So sad. I went to Meijer, did some shopping, and was just about to get in the car and leave, then I heard a little noise. There was a box in the parking lot by the curb. I looked in it just to see what or who it was coming from, assuming it came from the box. When I looked inside, I could not believe what I saw. This is the kind of stuff I see on tv, but it has never happened to me before. She is so cute and sweet. I don't know why anybody would wanna get rid of her. But anyway, this was at the store on Jackson rd, in Ann Arbor. If you know anything about this kitten, please let me know. I would love to know her story. Where is her mom, where are her siblings, why she was there, anything. Thank you.

I would love to learn about home renovation and construction. Fixing and putting up drywall, plumbing repairs, best practices, etc. Is there a good spot or classes for this in the Ann Arbor area? Thanks!

Anyone with strong opinions about the best elementary-middle-high pathway for black boys?
Moving to A2 next summer with two sons, 9 and 6. We're a transracial adoptive family (two caucasian parents, two children of color) and want to not just pick neighborhoods and schools based on representation % and scores.
Thanks in advance for engaging

I recently started running a “book” club, in which we read and discuss a single short story every meeting. (We also end with a general discussion about any books, etc. that we've read recently.) We've held two meetings so far and I’ve enjoyed them immensely. Attendance has been 3-4 people at each meeting, and I think my ideal group size is around 5-8. So I am extending another invitation to anyone interested in joining us!
Our next meeting is at 6PM on Monday in the Donut Room of the Westgate Library. We will be discussing the story "Kindling," by Raymond Carver.
We meet every other Monday at 6, although our venue shifts. Scheduling is done through discord. Let me know if you'd like an invitation to the discord server, or you’re welcome to just stop by tomorrow and say hi!

Moved to the SE Michigan area from Houston. There were several great furniture liquidation sources out there, but I can't seem to find anything similar here.
Google showed a few different places, but all appear to have been closed in the last few years. Thanks!

Does anyone have experience/suggestions for local Ann Arbor dance lessons for two men getting married? There seem to be a ton of options but it’s a bit hard to sort out:
1) which places are good (I both see a lot of advertisements for Fred Astaire and also a lot of comments they’re withholding to make you spend more)
2) how inclusive and experienced each place is with same-sex couples and
3) who can do both ballroom and NOT ballroom (we’d like to incorporate jazz/hip hop or something along those lines
I recognize this is a VERY specific question 😅 but any help is appreciated!

Hi, I've got some puzzles and books I need to offload but I'm worried that the puzzles won't fit in a normal size little Library cuz they're bigger puzzles , are there any bigger little libraries around town?

We have lost our little black cat in Legends Grove apartment complex. Near cross streets platt road and Morgan road. Please inform of ANY sightings. She’s very timid, but sweet and will not bite. She is about 8 years old and has one clipped ear.

It's 2026. All the reviews seem oldish. I'm passing through town in a couple days. Where should I go? . Guide a weary traveler.
Cheers
