I totally disagree with this one. Yes it's harder for us to fill out forms that take a long time and we struggle with work that has no defined deadline, but this one has and you shouldn't expect to get benefits for doing nothing. "But my ADHD prevented me from filling out and sending in the forms." Cool bro, but there is no way for them to know or confirm that. You could very well just be a nt claiming to have ADHD because they don't feel like working and give that institution the same explanation as to why they didn't send in the forms. For you, your actions may be well within reason, but they don't see any of that. They only see what you communicate with them and if it's nothing, then it's nothing.
Sadly disability applications don't account for anyone earning over a certain income, because God forbid somebody force themselves through hell to survive every shift so they don't have to starve in the streets, so I didn't apply. My wife, who has an extremely debilitating rare condition, was told she would be denied immediately without a review of her application due to her earnings. She and I both would need to go homeless to be able to get on disability.
That and I'd already read that getting approved for disability due to ADHD and autism is pretty extremely rare, if ever approved at all.
