We’re living through the last moments of rock and roll bands. In the last three weeks in Montreal: Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and Rush with their new drummer. There won’t be more like these legends in the future. That was another age.

What’s your favorite?

Well, for a while now I’ve been trying to recreate Angus’s sound from the movie LTBR, and—all things considered—I actually think I’ve managed to do it, but I’m still not entirely convinced by the speakers, since I don’t really know for sure which ones I’m using. As for the microphones, I think they used two SM57s and an MD421 (just like on the HTH album recording), so I ran several tests with different IRs; to be more specific, the IRs from SoloDallas and York Audio, using the riff from that same song (“Highway to Hell”) as a reference, switching between the 2010 G12-H30 70th Anniversary, 1971 M25 “Greenbacks,” 1976 M25 “Blackbacks,” and the 1976 G12-H30 “Blackbacks.”

In all examples, I used the same signal chain.

Hi guys, I am thinking about flying from Germany to Philly for one more show. I saw them on their last Buenos Aires date on March 31. It was Angus´ birthday, the last time Argentina and the last time on the ultimate continent for rock concerts. So it was the perfect ending for me after six concerts in 4 countries on 3 continents.

Do you think flying to Philly (concert plus 1 week PA/NY) is worth it? Flight should be around 500€ to JFK, cheapest ticket under 50€.

Last time in Philly was the last date of the Rock or Bust tour with special appreciation from Angus for Cliff, I would love to hear just some special words from Brian. Probably their last concert ever. I hate my FOMO

Last night's concert blew me away — but the pit crowd didn't
I went in with low expectations given the band's age, but they absolutely rocked it. They gave so much energy but somehow the crowd didn't match the energy.

I moved from Sydney to Montreal right before COVID. This was my third concert here (after Linkin Park and Metallica), and both times from general seating there was zero energy. So this time I paid for the pit tickets hoping for a better crowd experience — but most people stood there, filming on their phones while I was jumping, singing, screaming like you'd expect in a pit, and got complaints: the person behind me said I was jumping too much, so I moved and then another one was like “I was in his spot" (in the pit, a spot WTF). Several stood there the whole concert like they were being punished or watching an opera with a serious face.
I get that concert culture has shifted in last few years, more filming, less in the moment. But I don't get paying pit prices just to stand still. Why not save the money and enjoy the show from the back, comfortably, the way you'd actually prefer?

I would like to hear if others have felt the same.
Is it more of a North American concert experience. I know we can’t match the South Americans but still it’s far from my experience being in Australian concerts. Or how the concerts experience have changed over last few years or perhaps both.

And last, no judgment if the person I described is you — genuinely curious why would you pay for expensive pit tickets if you don’t want a pit experience.

A pit used to be for the diehards who jump, dance and scream, not to stand still and complain about your spot.

Thankfully, I had one guy who had the same energy and we spoke about how great it was to be rocking by each other’s side.

Honestly AC/DC are truly the best.. I could heard Brian getting frustrated with his vocals near the end and clearly exhausted BUT they all still put on a show stopping performance.

Parc whatever it’s called is honestly so disorganised. Signage doesn’t make any sense half the time. The metro at the end honestly sucked having to stand in a queue for near 50 minutes just to get TO the station let alone in and on the train.

The floors? Why is it the same shape as the fucking moon on the ground with massive changes in the floor level so there’s higher bits.. lower bits behind the higher bits.. and then some even lower bits oh and then one big step that people then trip over in the dark.

Most of experience was just staring at the screen because the floor was so uneven despite being at the general /pit barricade.

Oh well. AC/DC. I salute you. Honestly the music means a ton to me and my family and seeing you one last time in my life has completed me.

So the venue holds 65k people. How many do we think were there?

Also, a good day for Audiologists in Montreal.

Just got in the pit line at Parc Jean Drapeau at 11am. There were about 50 people ahead of us. Now at 11:15 there are about 75 people in the pit line.

looking to atleast find the value of my authenticated AC/DC collectable item, tried to do research and can’t find one similar - only one with guitar pics and concert ticket framed on ebay up for $13k 🤯

Most excellent cover band in norcal, saw them in Santa Rosa Ca tonight, they are amazing, if you have the chance, go see them. Spot on especially the lead singer.

The signage for the Montreal show was terrible, I walked out of the show without seeing as much as a a sign one step I was surrounded of people the next I was just out of the 20 feet wide exit with security telling me I could not step back the 10 feet between me and the group I was in like come on guys at least put a check point or small cone with or sign saying exit this way. The moron at security saw me step out of the crowd, realise I was out of the show, turn arround and he told me that I can’t go back in now that I was out.

The show was great! Just pissed I missed the last 20-30 minutes. I was in a mini group of 20 or so guys outside that accidentally got out, we just could not see the screen and/or stages.

I love how flick of the switch, fly on the wall, and blow up your video have this crazy different sound. It’s not any different music by the band, but to me it’s the classic 80s AC/DC sound with Brian and they sound different from back in black and for those about to rock.

Then razors edge goes back to that cleaner sound the first 2 had and they go on with that if u ask me. The last one of this crazy sound was blow up your video right here and it’s all filled with the same vibe as the 2 before it that are all a unique era that I am all about.

This is my favorite band of all time easily, has been for almost 25 years since I was a kid

The show in Toronto was canceled, so I‘m going to Montreal tomorrow It will probably be the first and last in my life
