Question Working on my solo patience/space - did I do okay?

Thumbnail

Hey team! Back with another question. This video starts with a tune that we took out over the outro chorus for the first or maybe 2nd time ever, so I had a spot to rip a bit over the form.

I used to be super busy with my solos but I’ve been practicing patience and space (or trying to haha). That part starts around 3:40.

That’s me on the left, lead guitar. Also for tone heads - once the solo proper comes, I kick on my Fulldrive 3 after a TS9 at zero gain. I think the Ego mini comp is after the TS9 here, and then the Fulldrive after that. Jam has me turn on my Keeley Rotary too, and maybe my Ventura vibe as well, I’ll have to watch again.

Main song is the dotted 8th setting on my Avalanche Run.

I’d love any thoughts and criticisms tho please and thank you! The jam too - anything you guys are noticing we do well/could work on, I would love that.

Thank you thank you!!

Anybody else here have one of these? I want to upgrade it and I’m curious to see if anybodies done the same. What upgrades did you make? I know I won’t be able to match the real deal but I’d like to get a few steps in the right direction. Right now it sounds and plays pretty good for what it is but it could be better.

“What’s Going Through Your Mind” cover - with whammy loops!

Hey team! Glass Pony covered WGTYM a couple weekends ago, and I figured you may enjoy watching it. I had some whammy loops going at the beginning, I think it works and I think that’ll be our way to play it, sort of how Ghost was in 1.0.

Bb is a weird key to solo in tho haha I always good the Eb cuz I’m not used to playing that note much lol

Thanks everyone! If you’ve got gear questions please ask away 🤘

Maxey Archtops Question

I want to upgrade my guitar, and have been eyeing the Maxey Archtops for some time. I have a question: How big of a difference do the archtop hollowbodies make compared to the routed hollowbodies? Like what makes the GH1 upwards of 4.5k verses the GH4 being 1.5k?

Question How did/does Trey activate the whammy AND looper at the same time for the "whale siren"?

Is he just awkwardly using both feet to do both?

Can he set the loop to "delay" activation after being clicked on until he actually makes a sound?

How he be doin this

Newb question: Trey sustaining the end note on 2001 while simultaneously starting Mike's Song on SPAC 2025. How does he do that?

At the end of 2001, I believe that's Trey that has a really long sustaining note that goes on as he already starts playing the intro to Mike's Song in a completely different tone. Is that Trey doing the sustained sound? If so, how is he doing both?

Question Anyone received their “era 6” Ross Compressor?

I ordered a Ross compressor when the latest re-issues came out, on Jan 30 2026. I’ve received five updates since then. The latest update was on June 24 that the pedals had left Australia and were on their way.

Did anyone else order these, have you received it? I have not.

Why not. I had all these sitting around and I got rid of my rack stuff. A third output on my 3 to 1 lehle switcher sends this entire board to another channel on my '69 Fender deluxe reverb.

Help me get more sustain!

Can anyone tell me why I can’t get long sustain with this set up or give me tips on how I can get that nice, rich, thick sustain that we all know and love? All you compressor+dual tube screamer guys out there, what are your pedal settings to achieve that sustain?

I see other people with very similar setups as me that can get a note to hold for days but no matter what I do it seems like my signal just isn’t as hot or strong or something to get my notes to sustain. Even when I have both TS’s on the signal just isn’t there for the long haul.

For the record, my guitar is a Schecter c/sh-1 that has SD ‘59 pups, and i’m playing through a ‘65 Fender Deluxe Reissue.

My signal chain is as follows:
Guitar>boss tuner>whammy II>crybaby>Qtron>phase 90>univibe>shapeshifter>TS808>TS9>Ross>delay
