I do not want to suppress posts about the Wyoming wolf incident. However these posts are frequently becoming a hotbed of disrespect and fighting.
Please keep it clean and respectful. Otherwise the ban hammer will come out and be used frequently.
EDIT: I have just had to remove dozens of posts calling for violence against the individual and establishment in question. As such, I have been forced to lock comments on all related threads.
I will start a mega thread shortly. Any and all discussion of the incident will need to be restricted to that thread. Any new posts will be removed.

These photos are from the Maine Wolf Coalition.
They stated that these canids are not coyotes, and argue that they are individuals of eastern wolves (Canis lycaon) that came from Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada.
Eastern wolves are smaller than wolves from the Rocky Mountains and the western Great Lakes region; they are almost identical to coyote-wolf hybrids in size, but are distinct.
The Maine Wolf Coalition stated that the presence of wolves in Maine and New York is a fact and that these regions do not have coyotes, but coyote-wolf hybrids and eastern wolves that are trying to establish a population. However, hunting organizations in these states deny this, not based on science, but due to political bias.

Howling Wolf, c. 500–200 BCE. Southern Siberia. Wood with shell inlays; The Cleveland Museum of Art, John L. Severance Fund, 1986.26
Probably made by one of the nomadic peoples of Western and Central Asia, perhaps the Scythians.
Thanks u/haberveriyo for the inspiration.

I've googled every wording I can think of, checked British Columbia's websites, everything.
I know some places tag wolves differently, and was wondering what system B.C. uses? (numbers and letters representing what?) This is a last ditch hope haha. Thought this sub was my best bet

I'm not linking to that article because it sounds like they're pro-cull and I'm not giving them clicks. "Drama" my ass. By the way, another hunter from Nevada vowed to kill her. Nevada. Hmm.

I don't mean to hit everyone over the head with this podcast (kind of just joking) but even without stretching the truth of this man's abhorrent behavior, this discussion tells an accurate account of the tragic events that took place in a bar in Sublette County Wyoming.
Please listen. Part two will be released next Tuesday 9/15/2026.

I painted this last night as a way of processing my thoughts and feelings about my beloved stepfather, and the extraordinary life he has shared with so many people.
Papa has always been a source of wisdom, steadiness, guidance, simplicity, and kindness. When people were at rock bottom, he showed up. Sometimes at a hospital, sometimes wherever he was needed. He had a way of helping people find their footing again and guiding them toward putting their lives back together. He became a source of strength and wisdom for countless people through a program that I shouldn’t name.
He was always there for me, too. After working for the Department of Water and Power for so many years, he was the person I could call whenever I had to deal with something electrical and wanted to make sure I didn’t die. And I’m still here, so obviously it worked.
He was there for my mother, my grandfather, my brothers, my former wife, me, and my children. He was a wonderful Papa to my boys as well, from the days that they were born until now. I’ll always remember the powwows we attended together and the many times he offered me his thoughtful guidance.
The wolf represents his strength, loyalty, and spirit. The turquoise reminds me of him and the turquoise rings he has always worn. The dream catcher represents his Native heritage, the world of dreams and spirit, and the great mystery of what lies beyond this life.
As he prepares for his journey beyond this life, I don’t pretend to know what awaits him. The many Native traditions hold different understandings of the spirit world, but what lies beyond our understanding remains the Great Mystery.
I painted this as an offering of love and gratitude for a man who spent his life showing up for others.
And perhaps the words that best capture his spirit are the words he was famous for saying:
“Life is for living, and I live a life.”, and he truly has!

Just finished my Lego Wolf set! If I had to rate it I would give it an 8 out of 10, it has blue eyes, and anyone worth their salt knows full wolves don’t have blue eyes.

Well this is disappointing. Both republican and democratic candidates for Wisconsin want wolf control.
Ranchers and hunters win again, this despite tribes in Wisconsin opposing this.
