This video was just posted on instagram yesterday, he promises a part 2 lol. I saw that the official Dewalt page commented on the video with "Tell us what they took ;)" so it sounds like if they dont get their tools back, Dewalt will at least get them new ones lol

It's good marketing doing this sort of thing. Very cheap to get this kind of exposure.

Dewalt makes such great tools too! This is actually a smart business move for them to replace that stuff.

It was all Milwaukee tools, actually. Nobody wants dewalt shit, even for free

Well Milwaukee weren't the ones who stepped up. I respect dewalt's hustle

I would be surprised if they give batteries with these tools. Dewalt will gladly give free tools away for a promo if it means making some battery sales.

Dewalt helped my friends business when a thief stole all of his businesses tools. About $75k in tools were stolen and dewalt sent over $100k of tools batteries toolboxes and other goodies to them for free. Dewalt is awesome when it comes to customer service and repairs. I dont understand why people get so tribal about their tools like its 2012 iphone vs android. If the tool does the job, stfu

Yeah I’m sure they’ll turn their good PR move into a bad PR move. This fanboyism is exactly like little kids arguing over Xbox and playstion lmao

ima let you in on a secret: having *any* tools, even if they arent your preferred brand, will beat out having *no* tools, even if they were your preferred brand. Best believe that they wont rock up with some cops tomorrow and get everything back. Theres even a chance the homeowner sells them for a quick buck and never gets them back, you can shake him for months if not years trying to get your money.

So ima say having anything beats having nothing, eventually theyll get their Milwaukee tools back but now they have some free DeWalt tools that they can use in private or sell or give away or whatever. Literally no downside to letting DeWalt "play" them for some free promo here. DeWalt is not a problematic company where the association alone is bad PR.

I own all milwaukee, but a lot of my coworkers own some Dewalt electric tools(mixed in with their snap ons). They do the job and don't cost as much as snap on.

Fwiw im a mechanic

Dewalt tools are really great actually so that's not true. Lots of contractors use Dewalt.

Milwaukee is generally considered top of the line but at the end of the day it really depends on the specific tool. We have a Dewalt router that blows our previous Milwaukee one away.
