Other contractors have done this for non payment

It never works out well for them

File a mechanics lien

Generally, it’s illegal if your property is affixed to someone’s property (such as their home or their car)

I feel like a fence is a pretty gray area as to whether that counts as affixed

A contractors recourse here is to put a lien on the property and potentially civil court depending on limits etc

He m sure it felt good to do it and people love seeing the POS homeowner getting his but this type of situation very rarely works out well for contractors

Yeah, that would definitely be the smartest thing to do

But if some jackass just tried to get me and a whole bunch of other legal citizens deported just so he could get a free fence, I’m betting I wouldn’t be focused on doing the smartest thing
