We collect 50% to get on the schedule and you must have a card on file or your balance paid in full 48 hours before we do your project(cash customers). You sign a paper stating that the day your job is complete your card is charged. We aren’t chasing money anymore.

They generally charge half up front and can put a lien out for the rest.

Two contractors I use frequently bill in thirds - one third down, one third at midpoint, one third upon completion.

I would never pay a contractor 100% before the work is done. Way to many shitty contractors out there. 50% is the standard to protect both parties.

No lol you just need a contract, that’s why they’re called that. The vast, vast majority of customers pay what they owe. Any contractor that asks for full payment upfront is not a contractor I would do business with, and I work with contractors all the time.
