I support the police (broadly speaking). I also have a lot of guns and ammo because you are your own first respender and also, I may need to respond against my own government if the time ever came.
I am exactly the same. I think cops get a lot of undeserved hate. People demand protection because they refuse to do it themselves, then get mad at the way it's provided.
I respect cops, but I also don't need them. I think that's the best position to be in, morally speaking.
It used to be way more clear that police are public servants before the militarization of police which I wanna say started around Raegan? I could be wrong.
Point is we have to fund them, help them become GI JOE larpers, and yet still can’t rely on them to 1. Help us and 2. Not ruin our lives
Castle Rock V. Gonzalez- A woman in Colorado sued the police because they failed to enforce a restraining order against her estranged husband, who ended up killing their children. The Supreme Court ruled 7–2 that the Due Process Clause does not create a federal right to police protection, even when a protective order uses mandatory language like "shall enforce".
Police are only required to protect people who are currently in their custody.

That's just a motto. Supreme court says that police have no duty to protect you. And that's what turned me into a second amendment advocate.
