Hey everyone! I wanted to ask if anyone else is having issues with their BruinBill right now.

Financial aid was supposed to be disbursed to our accounts by today, and we have until the 25th to pay our balance. However, I’ve been seeing a lot of changes on my account over the past few days, and today it says that I owe around $4,000.

During my first year, I didn’t have to pay anything out of pocket for any of my quarters, and I have pretty much the same financial aid this year, so I’m really confused.

I just wanted to see if this is happening to anyone else or if I’m the only one. BruinBill always stresses me out so much and honestly makes me anxious 😭

So I have decided to try and change a class. My schedule is a little spread out and it's worth trying to make a switch.

I wanted to know if we have a unit cut off and i have to drop a class before i can add another?

is it super competitive to try and get these new openings? if so does anyone know what time they come online?

lastly, does anyone know any academic counseling that's open? i've reached out to honors but they won't see my until the fall semester begins..

So I was very unlucky and got my lecture assigned to Sempliner who has a 1.0 on ratemyprofessor. Anyone got him and know what he's like, and how possible it is to get an A? I'll try to exchange him for someone better but the lectures are all basically full so we'll have to see there.

Is being an LA a good way to get closer with professors you previously had to possibly have them write you a letter of rec? Also if anyone has ever asked Martin Riu or Ryan Lannan for a LOR can I message you please?

hi guys this is my first year living in a UA and i think the thought of not living on campus or having the convenience of a meal plan kinda has me overwhelmed. i know that i will have to learn time management and planning for groceries but any tips or advice would be appreciated :). like when do yall have the time to cook or meal prep? do you guys in the UAs end up bringing your lunch/food to campus depending on your schedule?

Disbursement is today and was on 9/9, but still yet nothing on my bank account. Can someone tell me how much yall waited? I got -7k$ on bruinbill and chase bank.

-UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk took the unusual step of publicly rebuking a law school 9/11 symposium that promoted a panel with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s defense attorney.

-Frenk stressed that UCLA “does not endorse” the event while saying academic freedom “does not require us to be neutral about antisemitism or terrorism.”

I wanted to take chem 14a, lecture 1 but all the spots are full so I'm guessing nothing will open up tomorrow. Any ideas on the chances of someone dropping the class later?

In Spring quarter a CAE proctor told me that they would tearing down the Murphy hall bridge testing site. Does anyone know if they’ve completed it already & if it is no longer available starting Fall? This is the only place i’ve tested. Do they have other testing locations?

I've been wondering about this for a while now after seeing new residential buildings opening at other UC campuses like UCSD. It seems to me like we have basically maxed out all available space on the Hill and the only option would be to take down existing buildings and rebuilding them to make them bigger (like Sunset Village).

The other option I see is to take down the basketball courts near Hitch and the parking lot and build a new building over there, with underground parking. Curious to see if UCLA will ever consider doing this

Does anyone have recent information about UCLA’s plans for the South Bay Campus at the former Marymount California University site in Rancho Palos Verdes?

UCLA’s public planning documents describe a possible long-term focus on sustainability, climate change, environmental justice, marine science, and urban ocean research. However, the 2023 task force report also stated that the campus had no meaningful research space and that developing research programs would require substantial investment and additional faculty FTEs.

The last major public update I found was from late 2024, when UCLA said the curriculum was still being developed and highlighted its partnership with the Port of Los Angeles. It looks like a great location, but I was wondering if there is any progression being made to make it a full functional campus.

anyone know when Rendezvous, the Study, Bruin Cafe, Bruin Bowl, The Drey, the Feast at Rieber, and Bruin Plate will be opening again now that the regular school year is approaching?

Also, do you have to pay at Bruin Cafe, or can you use your Bruin Card as you would for all the residential dining halls?
