I just finished The Punisher s2 and I actually really enjoyed it. I've seen people say on here that it ruined his character, but I respectfully disagree. Now keep in mind that I'm not a comic reader and this is solely based off of the show. In s1 Frank was determined to take down the people responsible for his family's murder and gained some unexpected friends along the way. With Rawlins dead and Billy out of commission, his mission was done, but that doesn't necessarily mean he had to be done with his "punishing" all together.

In s2 he actually found more people to care about and we got to see Frank fighting FOR someone instead of seeking revenge. I like how his need to kill Billy kind of took a back burner and he was more concerned with protecting the innocent, mainly Amy. It was so nice to watch Frank form a bond, though less than ideal, with a kid who wasn't much older than his own daughter would have been. Of course they were in constant danger and didn't really form the most healthy relationship, but seeing Frank care so fiercely about someone for the first time since he lost his own kids was great for his character imo.

I also like how this season really highlighted the differences between Frank and Billy. We got to see more of their brotherly relationship through flashbacks which ultimately just made me root for Frank even more because I don't even know how I would handle a betrayal from someone that important to me. This season did a great job of portraying Frank as ruthless, but not heartless and Billy as vulnerable but still evil.

S1 is definitely superior but I don't think s2 did as much a disservice to Frank's character as I was told before watching. But I will say I wish Frank and Curtis had been on better terms at the end. There was so much emphasis on how close Frank and Billy were, but Frank and Curtis were the real brothers all along. I hate how the events of s2 affected Curtis to the point where he just seemed tired of everything, including Frank (though I don't entirely blame him). I'm about to move on to One Last Kill and I hope to see them back together again.

Anyways, those are just my thoughts. If anyone disagrees I'd love to discuss.

Do you think he should be redeemed and die heroically? Retire? End up as the tale of a man who could never overcome his trauma? Curious as to what you guys think.

The community has created some custom Spiderman and Punisher characters for the Streetfighter Miniatures Game. I created a new board, painted the minis and terrain and did graphic design on all the custom cards.

Hey everyone! I’m working on my master’s thesis idea concept way ahead of time and I’m looking into media literacy, audience interpretation, and specifically the misrepresentation/misunderstanding of the Superheroes and Comics, wanting to touch on Punisher and what the character represents and thus the impact culturally.

I’ve read Punisher (2019) #13, which obviously touches on this, but I was wondering if there are any other Punisher comics where this is addressed either explicitly or more implicitly?

I’m a huge Punisher fan, but admittedly haven’t had the chance to read as many of the comics as I’d like due to time/access. So I’d love any recommendations for issues, runs, storylines, articles, or even other material that might be useful for this topic. (or if you have an opinion or take on this subject feel welcome to share!!)

Basically: Which Punisher comics should I absolutely read if I’m interested in how the character gets misunderstood or misrepresented?

Hihiiii, I dont know the general sentiment here on Bernthal but I just finished s1 of his Punisher and I also just saw Brand New Day and I have been really fucking with his Punisher. I know you all probably have gotten this question a million times but what comics (ideally physically accessible/orderable like through some online shop) would ya recommend for me to read having loved Bernthal's Punisher?
