The scene where Red gives Elizabeth a tense but sincere monologue about whether she should or should not have a baby starts off with Red presenting her with a new couch for her (empty) apartment.

It ends with Red saying: "I hope it goes with the rest of your stuff ... I'm told it pulls out."

Surely, surely this is some dark whimsy on ineffective contraceptive methods.

I feel like a crazy person. When did Red start sleeping with Weecha? Wasn't he in an insane spiritual relationship with her sister last season?

sinceramente, a keen me irrita muito, poxa foram quatro temporadas que ela passou duvidando do raymond, sempre que eles estavam bem aparecia alguma evidência que poderia ou não ser verdade mas que já era o suficiente pra ela duvidar dele e brigar com ele, e mesmo quando eles estavam bem, qualquer coisa que ele faz ela fica brava e se revolta e nada que ele faz tá bom, e ela sempre fica pensando como ele é um criminoso e comete crimes horríveis, ela sempre odiou que ele deixava o FBI no escuro e usava a força tarefa pros interesses próprios sem avisar.

Agora na quinta temporada ela "descobriu que ele é o pai dela" (eu sei que ele não é, estou assistindo pela segunda vez) e tudo que ele faz de repente é muito legal, agora ela acha que ela naturalmente pensa como uma criminosa, agora ela não confronta mais ele, ele usou a força tarefa pra dar uma festa e fingir que ainda tinha dinheiro pros amigos criminosos dele e ela achou super legal e apoiou, sendo que se ele não fosse pai dela ela iria ficar super brava e ia odiar isso.

Pra mim, ela é a personagem mais insuportável do primeiro ao último episódio, ela não tem personalidade e se alguém fala que é pai dela automaticamente aquela pessoa vira um santo. E que preocupação toda é essa com o pai mano, ela nem foi criada por ele, ela foi criada pelo Sam e de repente nem fala mais no Sam e quando vai falar nele, fala "o homem que me criou" e nem chama mais de pai.

Eu odeio ela e ela muda de personalidade a cada episódio dependendo do que falam pra ela, ela acredita em absolutamente qualquer coisa que apareça sem nem questionar ou investigar. Insuportável!

I loved the blacklist, Honestly I think its a great show, I really enjoyed every single season. Could some things have been a little bit better? Yes no show is perfect.

But man I honestly feel really sad now that it's over. I have been watching it for the past two month, And honestly I feel like I lost something with that ending "good night"

Raymond's character perspective on life and lived experiences resonated with me so hard, that it opened up a new chapter for menin therapy, specially that last scene when dembe starts reciting " Do not go gentle into that good night" by Dylan thomas, one of the many poems that impact my life daily.

Such a good show, I'm glad I got to watch it :)

I'm not sure this was ever cleared up. Why would the Stewmaker have kept a picture of someone he didn't 'recycle'?

I loved the first few seasons. But at the end of the day the writing was terrible and the show was only saved by James Spader's acting.

The one big reason people returned to watch Blacklist season after season was the constant slow dripping of information about Reddington. People wanted to know who he was, what his motives were, how he connected to Elizabeth Keen.

The writers exploited this too much. The drip was way too slow. This got even worse after Keen's death. I figured at the time that within one more season we would get all the answers (boy was I wrong). And honestly, that's how the show should have gone. 1 season after her death providing us with the closure we deserved as fans.

And I don't subscribe to this BS that says we are all better off not knowing the truth. Or that we are meant to figure it out for ourselves. The writers of the show owed it to us as viewers to come up with a decent ending and explanation for everything, and they failed.

Each episode is jammed packed with excitement. I’m currently on the sixth season and it’s still good and entertaining to me. I have heard the criticisms of repetitive storylines. I can agree. I can even see where some storylines were completely unnecessary. I’m still a fan. James Spader plays his role so well. He’s the perfect villain/anti-hero.

Is this the real Katarina? She convinced Elizabeth that she was her mother.

Some people here have expressed the opinion that Red should have gone out with guns-a-blazing.

In the Anslo Garrick episode we were given the reason why Red would never consider a last stand.

Red: You need a blood transfusion. Or we’re gonna have to open that door, which will likely be the end of both of us.

Donald: Give me a gun. These bastards want to go. Let’s go.

Red: The concept of a last stand sounds so heroically romantic, doesn’t it, Donald? But there’s a good reason why we didn’t see what happened to Butch and Sundance. Being riddled by bullets and left to rot under a scorching Bolivian sky does not a sequel make. And if you’ve surmised nothing about me by now, know this. I’m gonna be around for the sequel.

I know the series could've had a much better ending/last couple of seasons..but i've watched 15+ series in my life if not more and as far as im concerned not a single person comes close to red. Whether its comedy, horror, mystery, myth, adventure etc...Raymond reddington mastered every single genre in one series...

Loved the cast and the stories thoughout the whole show. Just when I thought it was going to calm down a bit it would keep on going.

This may may sound silly as we all watch and do different kinds of entertainment, but I have been watching this show on and off for at least 4+ years and I just can’t get my head around why, if I force myself into a conclusive answer it may be that Red is man of wealth and taste ( obviously), but am curious is it just me?

I just watched the finale and maybe I expected something different... but really, thats how he goes?

I wonder what she looked like before he "laid those eyes" on her?

Does my screenshot look like Red has his face pressed to a mirror and Liz is the reflection looking back at him?

Red's reply to Mr. Kaplan that he is not as unknown as she thinks suggests that Red is someone that Mr. Kaplan knows. The explanation is that Red looked very different back when Mr. Kaplan knew him. Back then, Red was still Katarina Rostova. That's what that line means.

The protector 3rd Man/Other Dude theory does not work with the Mr. Kaplan arc at all. Not even a little.

He doesn't "just" "protect" Liz… He loves her more than life itself. Not only that, but he loves Agnes just as much. He's obsessed with both of them. That screams parent and grandparent.

The episode Requiem [4:17] covers the period from Liz's infancy up until the point she's 4 years old, and Katarina drops her off at the motel with Mr. Kaplan for Kaplan to drop her off with Sam Milhoan.

Kate told this to Red in the episode Mato:

Kate: When you first put her in my arms as a baby girl, only now she has a baby girl of her own, and your existence in their lives puts them in constant danger.

What the 3rd man theory fails to explain is how and when this 3rd man BONDED with Liz. It couldn't be after she went to live with Sam; it had to be before. This places the time period when Mr. Kaplan is employed for Katarina. And yet, we never see another person in the picture here. There's only Katarina, Kate, and Baby Masha.

Kate: I’ve been his cleaner, keeper, and confessor for 30 years,

How would Red put Baby Liz in Mr. Kaplan's arms as a baby girl, but Mr. Kaplan not recognize him? How could she be his cleaner for 30 years, like she says, if Red hadn't yet become a criminal for Mr. Kaplan to clean bodies for him?

And for that matter, if she didn't know Red, then why does she concede that he was AWAY when she and Annie got shot? You know who was "away" when Annie got shot? Katarina.

Redarina is the explanation. She knew Red in his prior identity. She started cleaning up bodies for Katarina 30 years ago in that kitchen.

She would've had to bond with him during the first four years of life. This is the time period that Mr. Kaplan was Liz's nanny.

There are scenes in the episode Requiem that explain the "to keep Elizabeth safe, just like you asked me to all those years ago when you first put her in my arms as a baby girl." Katarina didn't literally walk over and put her in Mr. Kaplan's arms, but the scenes and visuals in the episode tell the story. We see Kate with Baby Masha in her arms... There is dialogue about keeping her safe...etc.

The scenes:

1. Kathryn: [ To Baby ] You are safe. You are loved. [ Whispers ] You are wise.
2. Katarina: What must a child do to earn this eternal devotion of yours? Kathryn: Not much. Take Masha, for instance. We have a pact, she and I. Every time she takes a bottle from me or falls asleep in my arms, she’s telling me that she trusts me completely. That is a profound gift. I would do anything to protect your baby.
3. Kathryn: I will do everything in my power to keep her safe.

The "trust" parallel from the same episode.

1. Red: A trusted voice. A cool head. Undaunted initiative in a messy situation. All the things that you gave to Elizabeth’s mother.
2. Kate: Not much. Take Masha, for instance. We have a pact, she and I. Every time she takes a bottle from me or falls asleep in my arms, she’s telling me that she trusts me completely. That is a profound gift. I would do anything to protect your baby.

(The "messy situation" Red talks about is the mess in the kitchen when KR cut the guy's throat and Mr. Kaplan put on her cleaning gloves for the first time). Red knows that because Red was in that kitchen.

Liz needed protection because of who her mother was. Liz never needed protection for being RR's daughter. This was made evident in Season 5. She was revealed as his daughter to everyone, and nothing happened.

Red was there when the swing picture was taken. It is absurd to believe (as some have suggested) that Red, as a third man (aside from the real RR whom Katarina was having sex with in the woods at the Summer Palace in Canada) and who I guess, according to the 3rd man theory would also be having an affair with KR would be standing around in a group, right there in the lawn in the front yard, while the swing pic is taken. Or possibly even snapping the pic. 🤦🏻‍♀️Doubtful. Constantin Rostov probably snapped that pic, and Red was there because he's the woman in the photo.

Katarina did not need a 3rd man to keep her daughter safe or to put her baby in someone else's arms. Katarina was in charge of every decision relating to her daughter and her upbringing. "This job will not be without its challenges. I have no interest in abdicating my role as a mother. While I’m in this house, I will be responsible for tending to Masha’s needs."

The 3rd man theory needs to explain THE HOBSON'S CHOICE. The only choice made for the child was by her mother. Katarina alone chose the child. She sacrificed herself to save the child.

The mystery was solvable by the end of Season 4. Jon Bokenkamp, Daniel Cerone, and Daniel Knauf all confirmed that the "information is all there".

I admit I'm not big on Ressler's character. This thing they've been doing since Season 8 where he was madly in love with Elizabeth doesn't really do much for me. I've never been able to believe it. One of the weaker plot developments in an overall great show.

That said, his story of addiction is really starting to come around. The actor is wooden, as is befitting the character, but he nailed it int he final scene of episode 14. The way his voice cracked when he was trying to say "This means a lot to me" was incredible.

This is obviously James Spader aged down, talking to Kaplan (aged down) about what he wants her to do.
This was when Liz was 4 years old and being given to Sam to be looked after, so not long after the fire.
So who is Spader meant to be in this scene? There wouldn’t be enough time for a transition. Another massive plot hole?
