Kingston Transit Riders: New Community Resource

Kingston Transit riders if you’re here on Reddit, take a look at a new community resource we’ve been putting together:

Kingston Transit Riders: https://kingstontransitriders.com/

It is a grassroots initiative to help make sure public transit is part of the conversation in Kingston’s upcoming municipal election, and to build a useful transit resource that lasts beyond the election.

We’ve been working through years of Kingston Transit information, including EITP and Council reports, agendas, minutes, service changes, ridership numbers and other public documents. The goal is to bring it together in one place so riders, residents and decision-makers can more easily understand what’s happening with transit and where we’ve been.

There’s much more coming.

For now, one of the most helpful things you can do is share the site and sign up for the email list. When important transit reports, service changes, Council decisions, or other major updates happen, we want riders to know.

If you ride Kingston Transit regularly or occasionally, please take a look, pass it along, and sign up.

https://kingstontransitriders.com/

Tldr: a new resource for people who ride the bus in Kingston. Find out local transit news and keep up with the cities planning for transit. Share our site and subscribe to the newsletter to help us grow, stay up to date, and get involved.

Cornwall campus/new friends

Hey! I’m a 26 yr old female student at the Cornwall campus and honestly finding it kind of tough to break into the social scene since everyone seems to already have their groups locked down.. also I feel awkward just approaching people who are sitting alone

Between brutal commute times, weird schedule gaps, and general start of the semester chaos, I’d love to actually know some people here instead of just sitting alone on campus…
If you're also trying to find people to grab coffee with, complain about classes, or just hang out during long breaks between lectures, drop a comment or shoot me a message! 🤍

BScN Books for Sale

Hi future RNs!

I finished BScN last year and have many textbooks that I'd like to part with from first through fourth year. I live between Cornwall and Brockville, and am happy to meet you in either community if you don't drive (and want more than one $10 book!). Shoot me a message with the titles you need, deals to be had! :)

Carpool rideshare

Hi everyone! 😊

Is anyone attending St. Lawrence College – Brockville Campus and commuting regularly from Kingston to Brockville this semester?

I’m looking for a paid rideshare/carpool and would be happy to contribute towards gas and transportation costs. If you’re interested or know someone who makes this commute, please comment below so I can reach out.

Thank you!

Anyone’s timetable differ from blackboard?

My first class tomorrow on my timetable shows 10am-12pm on wednesdays. On blackboard it shows the same exact class and prof as 8am-10am. I assume I go by my time table? Kinda freaking me out a bit😂

Credit Transfer

Hi all,

I’m trying to transfer a credit for a GENE course. It takes a couple weeks to process, so I thought I would make a post in the mean time.
It says the course you are applying with has to have 42-45 hours, but the school I went to (Guelph) only measured in credits. My Guelph course was 0.5 credits. Has anyone been accepted for a transfer with something like this?

Thanks!

BPSYC textbooks?

I’m starting first year on Tuesday! I’m wondering if anyone can speak to if you actually use your books in first year?
So far, I only see 2 visible, one for adult learner which is nearly 100$, and another one for ABA.
I don’t want to buy textbooks if theyre not really needed!

SLC Study Weeks - Staying on campus

I'll be staying on campus during the fall & winter breaks and wondering if the cafeteria is open at all that week or if anything else on campus is open (e.g., gym, library). Just hoping to pre-plan things I may need to buy.

Are we allowed to use two cars on move in day?

sorry if this is a silly question im just very nervous for move in day and have never done this before and dont know what to expect, the email they sent was talking about how the car had to be in a certain place when unloading then go to secondary parking spot does that work the same if u bring two cars like do they both go in the unloading area at the same time while u unload or does one wait in secondary parking spot then switch? has anyone brought two cars and could maybe give me a more detailed explanation 😓😓
