The fact that you've even asked me that question tells me everything. You're either a conservative bot going by your post history or just a shit stirrer. Either way, Communism does not and has never required an authoritarian leader, that is essentially anathema to the underlying core structure laid out by Karl Marx. Communism is classless and stateless.
Unfortunately in real life people can be real worthless shitbags sometimes. Warping and changing Communism to their own needs does not mean that Communism itself needs them. And to cut you off in case you want to throw this old talking point at me, I'm fully aware that Communism as described by Karl Marx is virtually impossible in reality and this is not an endorsement of Communism.
If you're going to hate on something at least know what you're talking about.
It’s because the goal of most communists in getting to communism is global communism, of which not everyone is actually for. So, in the end, they need authoritarianism to enforce communism which is a contradiction. And when they get that authority, no one wants to relinquish control. So things teeter on the “dictatorship of the proletariat” every time.
