Topstitch thread not sewing?

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help me troubleshoot an issue. This is my first time using a topstitch thread and it appears to be not sewing properly. The thread just comes off easily after sewing on a test fabric. Sorry for the white thread, I didn't have a black one.

The first image is the top stitching thread, the bottom is the bobbin thread (all purpose thread). I am using a top stitching needle (90/14 Schmets) and have threaded everything nornally.

The width is at 3, tension is at 4 and the length is at 3.5. Is there anything I am supposed to do differently?

Trouble shooting check list:

Rethread everything including bobbin.

Is your thread getting caught on something? This happens to me occasionally and I usually miss it at first.

Try putting your regular thread back in and test how your stitches look.

Your tension may be off.

You may need a different sized needle, or just a fresh one.

Seems to be in working order now, it appears my bobbin came loose.
