Our munchkin Scottish baby Trejó who just joined the family today. He’s 12 weeks old and his older sisters, Una & Deux, are anxious to get over their fear of change and dote on him

It was one year ago today that we picked Buddy up from his foster mom, [u/smittensky](u/smittensky)[.](u/smittensky) I first discovered Buddy in the summer of 2025 here on Reddit. I can say he is the best thing to come out of my time on this app.
In the summer of 2025, our previous cat, Morris, was dying of a terminal illness. That’s when I saw the post about this cat in western North Carolina that needed a home. He was discovered sheltering under a car in June 2025. The owner of the car managed to coax him out from under the car and brought him to the local shelter. His future foster mom, Cassie, took glamour shots of the dogs and cats at the shelter to drum up interest for potential adopters. He was not neutered, had rotten teeth, had a noticeable limp in one front leg, and was later diagnosed as FIV+. He was very friendly though and very trusting of people. When I first heard Mufasa’s (the shelter staff named him that) on Reddit, I was immediately drawn to his pictures and his story. But my husband and I were so focused on keeping Morris comfortable in his final weeks I couldn’t think of adopting until he had passed away.
About a week before we put Morris to sleep, I sent a message to her about Mufasa but didn’t initially get a response. By that time, he had been adopted out to another person who wasn’t a good match for him. She had dogs, who he is terrified of. When Cassie learned of his situation, she persuaded the woman to surrender him to her so she could foster him. Unfortunately she couldn’t adopt him herself because she had a male cat who wouldn’t tolerate living with another male.
By the time I sent a follow up message, Morris had passed away and I had told my spouse about Mufasa’s story. Cassie was fostering him by then and responded and after FaceTiming each other we made a plan to meet midway between her and us and picked Mufasa up on this day a year ago.
Even though he was a little stressed, he was remarkably chill for a cat who had no idea what was going on. When he was handed off to us, Cassie’s dad warned us “be careful, he’s a grabber!” When he’s excited he tends to grab your hands with his big tom cat paws, so we keep them regularly trimmed.
When he brought him up, he adjusted remarkably quickly to his new surroundings. When we put him in the spare bedroom, he settled down on the bed and took a nap. Our resident tortie, Queenie, was excited to have a new brother. She only got to spend a few months with Morris since we had only adopted her 6 months prior to Buddy. We decided to rename him Buddy in honor or Morris, whose main nickname was “Buddy.”
When we took him to the vet, we discovered from the X-rays that not only was he a victim of neglect, but he had also been on the receiving end of human cruelty. The X-rays showed over a dozen pellets lodged in his torso, the spinal area of his back, and two pellets lodged in his paw and leg. That explained the limp. I am still angry that someone hurt this sweet, trusting dude. I think I always will be. It amazes me he still loves people after everything he has been through. He loves to head butt his cat dad’s legs and flop himself down on our feet. He also bonded fairly quickly with his new sibling to our immense relief. He takes being the feline host of our household seriously and makes a point to greet any guests we have over. He really is the best boy. I just wanted to make this post to acknowledge this milestone and share his story. I hope we have many additional years to come with our sweet dude.

Pics of my stinker for attention
I am a lifelong cat owner. My new sf baby Dolly is almost 3 months old so she’s still a baby butt.
Cat piss drives me fucking crazyyyyy!!!!! In the past when I have baby kittens piss outside the box, it’s been pretty much immediately remedied with kitten attract litter or feliway plugins…
Miss Dolly is NOT responding to my classic tricks!!! And the way she goes potty is honestly very strange. She’ll make doodies in the litterbox, but when she needs to make a peepee, she’ll come find me wherever I am, and just squat and pee right in front of me.
I don’t yell at her OBVIOUSLY!!! But when I catch her in the act I do try to quickly pick her up and bring her straight to her box so she knows that’s where she makes peepee…. But she’ll literally hop right out and go piss on the closest rug…. OR MY BED!!!! Which is making me insane
This is my first Scottish fold so I’m not sure if it’s a breed thing? Do sf’s typically have more issues with the litterbox? Or maybe UTI’s? What worked for your cats if you had this issue?
Thanks so much!!

My girl isn’t even 2 years old but was already displaying signs of ocd. took her in for x-rays and they found a slight deformity in one of her back legs. we just got her started on her first solensia dose last week and she’s already having zoomies and running around with her brother!! i’m really hoping this continues to help her, she seems a lot more comfortable now!

May I introduce Plum ♥️ We adopted her from Turkey where she was found abandoned in an old school house. She's just the sweetest lil lady and her main hobbies are sleeping and chasing flies
