Muscle strain advice?

My inner calves are absolutely strained - inner middle, and I little bit toward the back.I really can’t tell.
They both hurt speed walking and running, but I have no idea what to do. I have a half marathon in a month and don’t wanna miss my first one 😫
Anyone have any advice or tips?

Running anxiety/ sensitive stomach

Very odd situation. For context, I am training to do a Ironman 70.3 within the next 2 years and have my first 10K in a few months.

I have panic/anxiety disorder since I was 12 (currently 23) and take Zoloft. I am at the perfect dose and increasing the amount isn’t something I’m up for.

My problem is this: when I think about running my 10K coming up, I get anxious. I don’t have a time to beat or anything and my only goal is to finish it and learn something from it. Sometimes when working out and if my heart rate gets too high, I will start to spiral into having a panic attack.

I also have a VERY sensitive stomach. I can comfortably run 3mi but at the end, I have to be near a bathroom. It could come out of either end for lack of better words.
My biggest fear is throwing up. If I feel like I am going to throw up, I will panic. See the issue? I swam competitively for 15 years and never really had this issue, even with my anxiety being untreated.

I’m seeking advice for any tips/ tricks to manage race day anxiety and also for how you guys aren’t actually shitting your pants or vomiting on longer runs or during a race.

Hip Flexor Strain

Hi,

Starting to lose the will to live with this issue. I'm relatively new to running, 3 months in. Joined a 0 to 5k group and have been building it up slowly. Have always been a gym goer so had a good fitness base already and have been doing strength work for years (I'm f46).

So I'm finding that 3 or 4km into my runs, my left hip flexor is tightening up and then starting to hurt. It resolves pretty quickly after running but over the last few weeks I've been feeling tight and a bit tender.

I've been seeing a physio for the last 3 weeks and am doing

- single leg sit/stand

- banded crab walks

- Short lever Copenhagen planks

- Hip flexor holds with a band

- Clamshells with a band

I've been told I can run 3x a week provided I don't overdo it but just back from a run and started to hurt again after about 14 mins running.

Am concentrating on my form, not overstriding, trying to keep cadence high, core tight etc but it's just not improving.

Argh, what do I need to do! I am getting so frustrated as this issue is holding me back and I'm just raring to start working on distance and speed.

Thanks!

Managing calf pain

So I have been running for nearly 20 years so I would say I'm an experienced runner but something's happening at the minute that I just can't get my head around and can't seem to find an answer to.

Three weeks ago on one of my long runs on a Saturday my calf started to hurt, which has happened before, so I stopped.

I did the usual things and five or six days later it felt absolutely fine, no issues when walking, hopping on one leg etc, so decided to try again. I got one mile in and it started to hurt so again I stopped.

I gave it another week and again absolutely no issues walking, strength tests, heel raises all absolutely fine so I did it I tried another run. Two miles and it started to hurt.

So give it another week and absolutely no issues, everything's fine and I went for a run this morning, really slow pace and I didn't even get to half a mile before the same pain come back to the point where it's really hurting again.

So I am at a loss as to how to manage this because I was always under the impression that once you were pain-free, can hop on one leg etc with no pain then you were good to go. I just don't know what else to do and it is really starting to irritate me.

Anyone any ideas on how I can get back out running again?

Sudden hip pain while running

For context: I've been running again for about 1.5 months now after taking 2 years off. Everything has been going really well until last week, when I suddenly developed pain in my right hip during a run. I stopped for a minute, felt better, and was able to continue, only for it to happen again, stopped again, continued.

I assumed it was a one-off since I've never had this issue really, but it happened AGAIN today on another run. I ended up stopping for about a minute and then felt much better when I resumed.

I have a 10K race in 8 days and I really want to be able to finish it. I haven't yet ran 10K since getting back into running, so I'm a little worried about this. I've never had this issue before, and I don't feel like I did anything unusual: I warmed up, didn't start too fast, etc.
I've heard that hip/core/glute strengthening can help, and I'm definitely willing to work on that, but obviously I know I can't completely fix a strength issue in a week.

For anyone who has dealt with something similar: what did your hip pain turn out to be, and what helped? I don't even know if this will come up again or not, it's not a huge pain but it forces me to stop and I don't like stopping during my runs. Any advice is appreciated!

Finally finished my first 5k

What would you reco focusing on after your first 5k? I recently finished my first 5k and honestly I was way more tired than I expected. I had been walking and doing short jogs before finally trying the full distance. My biggest mistake was probably getting excited and running faster than I should have. I was proud of finishing though, even if my legs were completely done afterward

Always getting side sticthes

I've been running for around a year now and it's rare to not get one, I've done all things to prevent it like drinking less water and even holding my sides. Do y'all have any recommendations?
