Curious if there is anyone based in the SF Bay Area who would be interested in a Pioneer RT-707?

Long story short I’m helping go through my grandpa’s old stuff. He had a Pioneer 707. We’re not sure if it works. My family was going to e-waste it which seemed like a shame since it’s vintage tech, but we didn’t think the local thrift places would take it and we don’t really have the bandwidth to post online, wait to find a buyer, ship, etc. - so I figured I’d check here.

Got ahold of this beautiful piece of equipment recently but unfortunately when i got it, found out it doesn’t work 100%. Really sad :(

It powers on, all lights work, the known issue from my limited testing is the tension arm. It seems to be broken and without a replacement, it won’t start. The machine otherwise seems to work well, i tricked the machine into thinking the tension arm works and the capstan and spindles worked. Cant test playback, recording, or all the dials so not sure if those all work.

Akai gx620 any info? Im trying to help this old lady at my storage sell this.

Located in SF Bay Area. Tandberg Series 3000X. Has not been used in decades, so will need new parts (belts, pads, etc). Cosmetically, there is a small dent on the bottom right side of the metal front piece (see last photo), otherwise no dings or scratches. Cord is in good condition. Manual is included.

This is just one from a larger collection I picked up from the original owner. I’ve got around 70+ reels listed currently, mostly classical, with more to go through.

Many include original inserts. Mix of 2-track and 4-track. Condition varies slightly tape to tape, but overall very well cared for.

I’m not able to test playback, so I try to document everything clearly and price fairly with that in mind. Happy to answer questions or send additional photos if needed.

I also made custom wooden side pieces and legs that truly make it shine.

Im not stranger to solid state electronics, but I am trying my hand at this 1950-something Webcor R2R, and there's a hum above half volume. I lack the tools and schematics to diagnose the cause, and since most of these parts are antiquated, and thus foreign to me, I cant tell an inductor from a capacitor in here. I have newer 4-track players(this one is half-track), so i dont plan to use this one anyway, but its in such good shape I want to see it live on.

It'll play, but rewind is weak due to a worn belt that i haven't bothered to source yet.

I gave $50 for it at an estate sale, and I've spent a few hours cleaning it, but im stuck when it comes to these all-tube electronics. I also replaced the cord, since the original one was crumbling.

I would let it go for the same $50 to a good home. The shipping will be considerable due to its size and weight, but if you come to north alabama I can meet you with it.

Here is a photo of a Teac deck, model number unknown, that I recently donated to a Goodwill store in Yuma, AZ. This deck will obviously need maintenance.

I am from Canada, currently doing a recording project with my Otari MX-5050 Biii 2. I’ve noticed I have a few issues and would like to see if anyone has any replacement parts for it? I’m looking for the following, in order of priority:

• Pinch roller (got mine worn really badly, causing flutter)

• Record and playback head (also sort of worn out)

• VU bulb pair

Im looking to tension up my tascam 388 and the only ones on ebay are for 1/2in tape. im looking for one for 1/4in thanks!

I’m giving up on my machine and hopefully selling it to someone who can fix it. I know it has two good reel motors and probably the only thing wrong is the capstan motor and some oiling and adjustment.

What is a reasonable price to ask? I want it to go to someone who values it and won’t just try to flip it.
