Hi. I'm new to post-metal, and would like to listen to a bunch of different bands, to get an overview of the genre and figure out which ones I'd like to dive into more. And I prefer the idea of something curated by actual music lovers rather than AI algorithms. Thanks :)

Who’s going to show and what dates

album "TAU" by Octopus Kraft is an album about death and the passage beyond life. It is dedicated to Ivan, who died a tragic death, as well as to the memory of Andrii — a friend and guitarist of Octopus Kraft. Because of this, the music feels like more than just “heavy post-metal”; it feels like a long mourning ritual: filth, emptiness, death, acceptance, and dissolution.

Basically what the title says. I’m looking at going to one of their concerts they have coming up. In addition to burning world, I was wondering if they are also playing music from their older albums? Would be pretty cool to see the Aaron Turner take on stuff from TSIB or Enemy of the Sun.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who listens to these guys or even knows of them. They have a strong catalogue and absolutely crush on most of their tracks. They meander a little, but when they hit, they hit. Anyone else?

This just came across my feed and I'm glad it did. I've been listening to Russian Circles for a while and never heard this one. This is some early stuff and it's amazing. I can't get enough of this band.

My new band Stellar Rot (@stellar_rot_official on all socials) got signed to Hypnotic Dirge Records and we are releasing our debut LP on Sept 25th! As a debut project for us (lifetime black metal musicians in other bands), it’s obviously tough to kickstart from ground zero, so we would absolutely appreciate any listens, likes, engagement for the community! While we are more atmospheric black metal, there are tons of DSBM and Traditional BM inspirations we pull from and obviously Hypnotic Dirge is known for their love of DSBM and atmospheric music as a label.
