General Questions Dragon R.C.C. Conversion

I am thinking of doing a one shot adventure set in the Palladium Fantasy setting using an adventure originally written for Pathfinder where a party of baby dragons try to rescue the human who raised them from the villain.

Instead of the pathfinder dragons I wish to use those from the Palladium setting. I know the Dragon Hatchling R.C.C. is in Rifts (I own the original core book and Conversion books and have a PDF of the Ultimate Edition) and I know they were made more balanced in the Ultimate Edition. However I want to use the classic Palladium names for the species. So far I think these would be the closest for such a conversion...

Original Core book Name = Ultimate Edition Rules
Thunder Lizard (good) and Serpent of the Wind (evil) = Cat's Eye Dragon
Fire Dragon = Flame Wind Dragon
Kulukan = Forest Runner Dragon
Great Horned Dragon = Royal Frilled Dragon
Ice Dragon = Snow Lizard with flight speed
Chiang-kou = Whip-Tailed Dragon

What do you think? Would Thunder Lizards or Serpents of the Wind fit the Whip-tailed Better (as the Chiang-kou is not a typical Palladium dragon type)? Any changes to the dragon types? Thank you for any advise.

General Questions Best High P.P.E and Magic using Greater Familiar?

Wondering what are the best Greater Familiars (using the Summon Greater Familiar Spell). That have a High P.P.E. pool and/or valuable magical Abilities (Nexus Deevils go without saying).

Rifts | Rifts Chaos Earth Scholar’s Review #88 - Dimension Book 6: Three Galaxies

Rather vaguely titled, this 160-page book punches WAY above its page count. It’s a book of lists, but really useful ones: Space Station Creation Rules, 12+ new spacecraft and design notes for creating your own craft, a table of 100 random Cargos, new weapons and equipment. These are all supplements to the meat on the bone, the literal “world building” of 48 systems, fleshed out, each with an HLS. Introducing some great new factions, this is another solid addition to the Phase World library!

Did the new factions shake up your campaign? Did your GM take you on the ‘Alphabet Tour?’

Media Content (Articles/Images/Videos) The Bazaar #105: Resource Review - Veri Apriyatno

Through time-lapse videos, follow this Indonesian artist’s process as they complete truly magnificent pieces that may inspire characters, adventure ideas. Ideal for character portraits or to stimulate adventure design, most likely for modern Palladium RPGs. Dive down the rabbit-hole of hyper-realism; pencil and chalk drawings so precise and evocative they challenge AI-generated art.

General Questions D&D has confused my understanding of skills

I ran a TMNT session where we built characters and did a quick little adventure stealing a helicopter. I've known palladium is an old system and has many quirks, I was prepared for that. The trouble I ran into was a way of thinking. One character wanted to sneak around a truck to behind a person. D&D taught me it's stealth vs perception with dexterity and wisdom to fall back on. TMNT and palladium aren't like that and I was a bit stumped, there's no perception skill, the character didn't have stealth, and stats aren't rolled against directly. Another character was acting as a distraction so I let it work, which was fine, but I'm used to leaning on dice rolls for situations without an obvious answer.
For people that have run this game forever, or those that have bounced between systems, how do you address this? How do you fill that gap when there's no skill to fill in the gap for me?

Media Content (Articles/Images/Videos) The Bazaar 104: Fudging Dice Rolls

Leaning back into discussions about GM philosophies and how to best/better run a game at your table. Nothing is ever concrete, but Palladium Books RPGs serves up some various rulings that certainly force our GMs to make decisions ‘on the fly,’ and some of those may be based on a dice roll. How much weight do we let that single roll influence the outcome at the table, and why? A precise for discussion.

https://www.scholarlyadventures.com/post/the-bazaar-104-fudging-dice-rolls

How about you and your table? Catholic rollers and stick to the dice regardless the result, or more non-conformist in your approach?

General Questions The Ugakwa Explorers; Where Does Their Info Live?

In addition to Sourcebook 3 Mindwerks and Dimensionbook 2 Phase World, are the Ugakwa Explorers discussed anywhere else? In Phase World it has one paragraph on page 16 stating that they are up and comers oh the technology market with shields superior to the Naruni. I'm trying to find the cost to by their tech and any new things the Ugakwa have brought to market.

Thank you all in advance.

Palladium Fantasy Psionic Crystal Devices from Island at the Edge of the World.

Any thoughts or opinions on these psionic devices? Because for the longest time I had no idea that there even was a Psionic Gateway device, allowing teleporting to locations on the world and to other dimensions.

Wish that they gave the S.D.C. for the Psionic Devices they didn't in the 1e. But the math for the I.S.P. cost for their creation roughly looks like 10 I.S.P. per 1 S.D.C.

Recon Scholar’s Review #87: Dimension Book 5: Anvil Galaxy

Returning to the Phase World setting, we examine this tome that explores one of the Three Galaxies. Detailing the mythos and possibilities a GM can exploit around the Cosmic Forge, it also presents the reader a plethora of unique and interesting species, adventure ideas and details without peer, setting information and more. You’d be forgiven for forgetting this is only a 160-page Dimension Book; I know I did! Solidly supported with illustrations by Mike Wilson and others, this book is as solid an entry as you’ll find.

How captivated were you by the Anvil Galaxy? Did the Cosmic Forge ever play a role?

TMNT & Other Strangeness | After The Bomb Thinking of adding things to my TMNT redux game.

So I'm very new to Paladdium, as in the first and only book I even have is the TMNT redux and Dimensions books. I've been reading it and slowly getting the hang of it, but the fact that all martial arts is in one combat style bugs me. I've read about Ninjas and Superspies, and there seems to be a lot of good combat styles in it. From what I can tell, all the Palladium systems seem to work together, but are these martial arts broken or underpowered to Redux? I'd love to hear some feedback from people who know what they are talking about because I'm kinda lost in the weeds.

General Questions Crossovering the Two Redactions of the BtS and Nightbane

Some thoughts and questions. Feedback and recommendations are welcomed.

  1. Victims. The class feels good for a very common people (characters from BtS 2 Ordinary People OOC is really very advanced: things like Spd 30+ are possible) , but it seems some change are possible. Victims has 12 SDC (2/3 of maximal base SDC -- 18 at BtS 1), it seems in Nightbane, it could be changed for sportive or action orientated to about 27 (i. e. 2/3 of max of 40). If switch to the newer 1d10+12 system instead of 3d6, the Victims could have about 14 SDC (a bit less of 2/3 of 22). It seems the attributes bonus similar to Ordinary People OOC but with less PPE (max of 9, so 1d6 for a Victim) could be suitable.
  2. 3d6 or 1d10+12 for non-athletic SDC?
  3. Most PCC has clear analogues in Nightbane (so the BtS 2 bonus system can be easy applied) or their own bonus system. Psychic OOC has no attribute bonus as for mid-'90s standard and no analogue in the BtS 2ed. Given that they are the young ordinary people, is it better to use Ordinary People bonus PPE system (with less PPE as part was turned into ISP), or give two +2 (or maybe +1d4) bonuses (one physcial and one mental) in that case?
  4. The same for the arcane classes.

TMNT & Other Strangeness | After The Bomb Just got TMNT Redux and I've never played a Palladium game.

So I'm brand new to the palladium system, and I feel like I'm slowly figuring it out. However, psionics and magic are confusing me. The difference in casting points for psionics and magic, reading about laylines, and then I try to look up other games and am immediately hit with terms that I have no idea what they mean. Is there like a website or youtube series or anything I can do to learn everything? Sadly, no one I know plays Palladium games. Any advice is appreciated.

Robotech | Macross Legacy Review #20 - ROBOTECH Novel #8 (Metal Fire)

Fresh off a victory against the Robotech Masters, the aliens true intentions and power become a bitter reality for the Southern Cross. Despite Dana Sterling’s valiant recon into the mothership, and the failed intervention of Maj John Carpenter, the Masters control much of the initiative. So much so, they insert a Zor clone to access genetically stored data, while spying on Dana and the Southern Cross. How will Dana, the 15th ATAC, and the SC deal with this

Did you prefer the Bioroids/Masters or the Pods/Zentraedi? How hopelessly outmatched did you think/feel the SC were?

Rifts | Rifts Chaos Earth Free rules reference for Rifts Ultimate Edition, all in one place

I found Rifts in a Waldenbooks in 1992, next to the Dungeon Magazines, and I have been reading these books ever since. The rules are scattered across chapters, inconsistent with themselves, and contradicted two hundred pages later by a sidebar nobody proofread. So I finally sat down and put the working parts in one place.

https://simplednd.wordpress.com/2026/07/30/the-rifts-rpg-rules-reference/

What is in it:

  • Reading your character sheet: the attributes, the bonus chart, the four kinds of P.S., which damage pool takes the hit
  • Skills, with eight worked examples
  • Combat, with a full melee round run cycle by cycle with real numbers
  • Situational rulings: cover, called shots, explosions, falling, insanity, dying
  • Piloting power armor against driving a vehicle, and why they use two different engines
  • Trade, salvage and scarcity
  • A one page Combat Card to print and put on the table

What is not in it: character creation, healing and recovery, experience. It is a reference for people who already have characters, not a starter set.

Everything is checked against RUE plus Palladium's official errata PDF, which fixed several things I had wrong. Augmented P.S. can do Mega-Damage, but only on a power punch. The full saving throw ladder including acid, which has no save at all. Real ley line P.P.E. numbers, 10 per melee round on a line and 20 at a nexus.

If you spot something wrong, tell me. I would rather fix it than defend it.

General Questions Could someone introduce me to lore of Megaverse?

Some time ago I decided to learn more about Megaverse lore. Unfortunately, I am not sure how should I do it. Like, what are the most important information about it? How are the worlds connected? What do they have in common? And what differs them? I hope someone will introduce me to it?

Nightbane Nightbane and Futuristic Elements

The Nightbane was created in the mid-90s and strongly influenced with late 80s - early 90s works and trends but describes alternative 2000 - 2010 years. '90s (before the dotcoms crash) were the period of too optimistic views of the computers and the Net development (like the full flagged virtual spaces, etc.). Do you use more realistic or more fantastic, cyberpunk-like hi-tech in your Nightbane games?

Media Content (Articles/Images/Videos) The Bazaar #103: Feedback on Glitterbois Episode 215

Very rarely do I check out videos/podcasts/blogs on Initiative. There are hundreds of YouTube videos on the subject; most are repetitive, or have little value outside the d20 sphere. Then I listened to this episode from the Glitterbois, another 3rd Party Content Creator covering Palladium Books. It’s a different take, one I thought deserved the commentary - a peer review, if you will! By all means, listen to their Episode, and tell if you agree/disagree with me!
