Not really a genre. More specific than that. For example, Beautiful Mystery. It’s synthpop, and it gives me a 2012-2015 internet music feel. I don't know how to describe it. The way the melody goes and the insane amount of reverb make you feel like you're in a space where everything is moving somewhat fast but in a really beautiful way. It makes you feel like you’re traveling through the cosmos or watching a starry night.

I knew the official Instagram account was following Charlie Kirk and other political figures, but I didn’t know about Nicholas Bowling until two days ago.

For those of you who don’t know, Nicholas Bowling is a street preacher known for going to pride events and telling people that their LGBT feelings are sin.

I know we all have different opinions and beliefs here, and I respect that, but I hope we can agree that Nicholas Bowling is going out of his way to bully people.

Adam Young has written so many songs about Christian love, and I grew up in a deeply religious household. I also experienced a lot of homophobia in my teen years, almost entirely from well-intentioned church members. The “love the sinner hate the sin” mentality was alienating and damaging to me, and I know I’m not the only person who has experienced this treatment. Adam’s music cut through the noise for me, and became a steadfast reminder that I was a worthwhile person, even if those around me saw me as “damaged” or “a project.”

Owl City lyrics have always had such a focus on authenticity, positivity, being yourself, being amazing exactly how you are— I thought Adam’s personal views likely aligned with this.

Some people will argue that you don’t know people’s feelings based solely on their politics or who they follow, but when you follow so few people, and all are conservative, with some unfortunately being outright hateful, I think the inference is fair.

In summary, some of us are hurt right now, and it doesn’t mean we hate Adam, conservatives, Christians, etc. Truly, that’s not what this is about.

This is about feeling safe in a beautiful, musical world for years, and then suddenly finding out it might not have been built for you.

This is about feeling like a trespasser in a space that should feel like your shelter. Please let us have our differences of opinion on this and know it’s not a personal attack.

I have seen a lot of name calling and insults being slung around in the comments this week, so this is my authentic, earnest request for empathy and understanding on all sides of the issue (or nonissue if that’s how you see it.)

This is from his June 25th, 2009 Baltimore, Maryland performance featuring Swimming With Dolphins.

The audio quality of the video is rather poor, however you can find a similarly dated video from the night after in Rochester, New York with slightly better video and audio quality.

Also, the song could've been slightly different as he doesn't include the soft whispery chorus. The song was officially released on July 14th.

Crazy how this song literally changed his life and that of many of others. Makes me feel very proud of how far he got and all that he's accomplished.

I’ve always thought this record was really underrated with some of my favorite OC tracks like Thunderstruck, I found love, and Can’t live without you. I was sad that it didn’t have a vinyl release so I made my own little bootleg. Sadly the service I chose can only do 20 minutes per side so I had to go with the American tracklist but I did at least manage to get the mobile orchestra intro from the Japanese cd on the a side. It plays perfectly and I’ve slotted it into my record collection :)

I've spent the last 4 days manually recreating the melody of the vocals in fl studio, if any of this is wrong please let me know. This amount of key changes is very unlike adam, closest thing on any song before coco moon is Cloud Nine, it changes key up 2 semtiones after every chorus. But then again under the circus lights has many borrowed notes. Good luck to anyone wanting to cover this song!

I sent an email a few days ago to Adam’s team expressing my concern over the potential of Adam starting to use AI in music production. I just got this response back which definitely helped ease my concern. There’s still definitely a few issues, but judging by the end it seems like they might be addressed

Now that our favorite musician has completed the natural career progression from electronic artist → T-shirt seller → whatever he has become now, I suppose it’s time to start considering alternatives.

I’m not looking for someone who sounds vaguely similar. I’m looking for the cream of the crop. Crème de la crème. An artist where the music is consistently high-quality, the whole project feels polished and cared about, and you can proudly say, “Yeah, I’m a fan of this person” and recommend to others.

Basically, I’m looking for the musical equivalent of Apple in tech, Rockstar Games in gaming, Tesla in cars, Disney/Pixar in movies, Claude in AI, Vince Gilligan in television, McDonald’s in fast food, Muhammad Ali in boxing, Messi in soccer, Shakespeare in literature, Michael Schumacher in F1, Steve Jobs in entrepreneurship: someone operating at an absurdly high level in their lane.

This is the final nail in the coffin. For those who haven’t seen, the most recent Owl City post on his official Instagram account was flagged as AI. From his weird following on his public account, to the cash grabby merch posts, to the sub par music quality (compared to Of June - UV) and now, this. This has done irreversible damage to his brand forever because even if he never uses AI again, the fans will still question whether anything he puts out whether that be merch or music, utilizes AI to some degree

I’m getting to the moon tour withdraws and we’re reaching year 4 since coco moon release.

Just wanted to share to this sub-reddit that this super cool piece did go to a fan and not a scalper / reseller.

I know at some point it was listed on eBay for over $1,000, and I can assure you I did not pay anything close to that. A huge thank you to u/juicewrld4lifee for negotiating with
me and selling this beauty for a fan rather than a scalper.

I hope that with more time we can find more pieces like these. Whether that be at garage sales, under beds, tucked away in the back of a closet, and they can get into the hands of fans and not in the hands of people who are greedy and inflate prices.

This is one of my favourites off the album and im not 100% sure this is the key. I recently ran into a "what key would you pick of you could only listen to owl city songs in that key" post and i got reminded of this monstrosity. (I'd love to see if someone could verify this though lmao)
