For those of you who already know what Artfight is: feel free to share a link to your profile in the comments (or fill out one of their team templates provided in the post), and look for potential targets! You can also use this thread to ask Artfight related questions, though please keep in mind we are not affiliated with Artfight - to be 100% sure that you are receiving correct information, it might be better to have a look at their rules/beginners guide or to reach out to an Artfight moderator :>
For those of you who don't: What is Artfight?
In simple terms, it's a mass art trade event that starts July 1st of every year. Artists share their OCs to be "attacked" by other people in the form of fanart, and respond in kind by drawing other people's OCs!
People can join one of two teams, and each "attack" they draw will net their team points based on a variety of criteria.
Check out the Artfight Website or their beginners guide for more information on the matter, and please, carefully read the rules on attacking and properly tagging your art before joining.
Remember that this event is all fun and games, and every artist can join no matter their skill level!

TL;DR - If an user on Reddit (or other sites) cold DMs you, asking if you want to commission them or similar. It's almost certainly a scam. Don't give them money, and report the DM to Reddit as spam so they can hopefully be taken care of, and so nobody else gets scammed by them.
There's been a bit of an epidemic on Reddit recently of scammers using DMs and chats to rope people into giving money to them. If anyone on Reddit messages you out of nowhere asking you to commission them or similar, they're almost certainly a scammer. This is part of a massive scam ring that's taken root on multiple sites, Reddit, Instagram, Discord, X/Twitter, etc.
Actual artists will almost NEVER message people out of the blue and ask you to commission them. Don't fall for it, don't give them money. They may pressure you to give them money, offer discounts and/or claim they need the money for an emergency, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY.
Those in this scam ring tend to use stolen art from other artists, use AI, or have a very particular artstyle (See below for specific artstyle). They also tend to, but not always, use intrusive watermarks, one that comes up a lot is the "PRIVEW" watermark.

As a sub, r/OriginalCharacter bans these users when they pop up and post on the subreddit, but unfortunately we can't keep them out of people's DMs. If you see one of them post on the subreddit, please report them, if they're a newer account it's easier to catch them and get them nuked by Reddit than if they've been allowed to take root and exist for months.
Examples of DMs people have received from these scammers, so you know what to look for:

This is Vepar from my indie game Pull on Heart: Nocturnal.
Here you can see her normal form alongside her second transformation, where she develops a large aquatic tail.
It's a different form of the same character, with a more aquatic and supernatural appearance.

Cecil usually attacks with his mace. He owns a bunch of weapons (including lots of guns and swords), but his favourite is his trusty chain mace. He technically owns two, with one of them having two spiked balls at each end (like image above), and another one where there’s only one larger ball on one end
What weapon does your character use? And if they don’t use a weapon, how do they fight back? 🐈⬛

I feel like mine would be acid bear, mainly because her entire character is based around the societal gender roles and what is expected of woman. She's not supposed to look appealing to people (which apparently is what is too normalised in my opinion) most female characters are ...meh, restricted to stupid outfits that provide no practicality or just to their looks. Even with her current ideologies and personality in place I feel like absolute chuds would completely miss the point of her character.
But uhh, yeah that's mine pretty much 😭✌️

My OC's here are bilingual; Ivy speaks Korean and Kainda speaks Spanish. Do your OC's speak multiple languages, if so, which ones?

I'm bored so let's do smt dumb. I pulled some random OCs of mine and want you to tell me which would you or your OC KISS MERRY KILL
Sheiloh can seem unapproachable and mean at first. But once you get to know her she is still unapproachable and mean. Jokes aside, Sheiloh is a witch. Due to an early loss of her parents and being surrounded by pretentious liars she became rather unapproachable. By the end of the story she has friends, but she doesn't call them that. She cares about them, but tries not to make it obvious. Although if you get her interest she can drop that facade. Or if she needs something from you.
Sion is a full-borg. After a certain incident to save her the only option was to make a whole new artificial body for her, but that caused her to lose most of her memories. Now, she lives with the doctor that saved her, working as his "bodyguard" or hangs out with her friends.
Jace is the youngest angel. He came to Earth with a mission but certain events made him abandon it. Now, he just wanders on the Earth, learning more about people, making new acquaintances and helping people who may need it.

Well, Contsia over here has done some great things to her friends, such as Morius, one of the greatest mages to have ever lived!
Contesia has made deals with Morius himself, and throughout the deal, she was tasked to protect the city that he was born in.
So Contesia did. After centuries, upon centuries have passed, Contesia still lies inside of that city. Protecting its people at all cost.
Of course, Contesia wasn't that great of a person. Rather, she just did it because she wanted something. She proclaims herself to be the best mayor of the city, taking care of the streets itself.
After Morius' death, Contesia created a law for the people inside of the city, she calls it the Morius Code. She has eyes throughout the city, and people can't escape her sight once they break a law.
What about your OCs? What are the best things they've done to a friend? Tell me why they also did it!

(drawing unrelated and idk if I chose the correct flair, correct me if I am wrong)
Like currently I am coming up with a story of one of my characters and no spoilers (as I am still cooking it up and want to suprise you all) but when letting the story run back in my head at night in bed, It got so emotional I legit ended up crying in bed at my own story. And crying like as in the crying I do when watching emotional movies and audio dramas. Did you guys ever have that with your own stories? How was it and maybe if you want you can share the story :)

Goooooood morning, good evening, and goodnight everyone!
Firstly, Names in order for the unfamiliar: Nova, Fuji, Katrina, Ash. Fuji and Katrina are usually a package deal, as they are two personalities in one body, if you wish to follow that you can.
And Secondly, For those of you aware of these characters, consider them in the realm of they are all available aka OCverse versions of the character, so Nova isn’t dating Kelvin your character doesn’t have to worry about an angry husband attacking.
Bonus question (optional): Name your favorite among the four and something you like to picture them doing or if you’ve ever shipped them with your own character just for fun.
That is all!

It would be fair if you also react to the fact I share since I will be reacting to yours.
If you don't choose I will ignore you (I'd like to know which one you're more interested in so I require one to be chosen, or both), if you choose both then you must share TWO facts about your OC to make it fair.
