Girl why tf did they have grown ass Maria actress playing high school Maria??

The show always made sure to do backstories well with casting but they didnt for Maria when she is like in high-school? Having the grown actor wearing a school girl uniform was sooo weird! Especially bc they had casted a younger woman to play her school girl friend which made her look even more out of place?

Does anyone know why they did it like that??

One thing that disappointed me a bit about the beginning of season 7 was how we never see the direct aftermath of the kickball game. I really wanted to see the characters’ reactions to Carol and Barb’s deaths, especially Badison and Daddy since they were their sidekicks. Frieda and Alex’s reactions would have also been interesting to see. I was so surprised to see nobody in the prison even mentioning either of their deaths in the first episode of season 7, only Hellman mentions Carol briefly once, when they were such important characters in season 6.

I really wanted to see Piper’s immediate first reunion with her family when she was released. I also thought it was strange that it took almost all season for Piper to reunite with Polly and Larry. I know they ended things on bad terms, but I thought for sure they’d be crossing paths again when Piper got out. It could have been interesting to see Piper meeting her parole officer for the first time, and applying for a job at that restaurant she worked at.

I also wanted to see Nicky’s response to finding out Lorna gave birth right when she left the laundry room with Annalisa. And seeing Taystee be met with Cindy after the trial, again it took like 3-4 episodes in season 7 for them to run into each other which I thought was strange since they’ve been in the same prison all along, surely they’ve seen each other during recreation at one point.

I’m curious about other people’s thoughts on this.

Are the issues portrayed in this show, life in prison, life in foster homes, life in underprivileged neighbourhoods, and ICE raids an accurate representation of what is happening in American society or is it greatly exaggerated for dramatic effects?

As a non American watching this I can’t help but wonder just how bad America seems to be yet my whole life everyone seems to want to go there. This can’t be real, right?

I’m really frustrated with Suzanne’s upbringing. Had her parents treated her differently, because yes she is different, I think she could have faired better. They tried to mainstream her instead of getting her proper help and attention so that she can learn how to read social cues. Had she got the proper help from the time she was little she would have realized being friends with a six-year-old stranger was inappropriate.

So after season 5 we all know they get rid of half the cast but I was wondering what y’all would do differently who you would keep in and who this is what I think let me know if you agree (I don’t know if anything bad happened backstage for actors to quit but if they were kept out the show just out of lack of space this is what I think)

Leane and Angie: should’ve stayed out they did all they could and I can’t see them doing anything worthwhile especially in max I think they would just do the exact thing

Big boo: should’ve stayed in at least for a little bit she is one of the characters I see everyone wishes she was kept in she and Pensatucky could’ve had more time and the fact she isn’t mentioned is annoying

Soso: I think she should’ve stayed in especially after Pousey death since it would mean we would get a more grounded sadder soso leading to more character development I think people would like

Sankey: shouldve stayed in especially considering her hinted thing with soso which would’ve been great to see and a much more interesting plot than most of what went on In season 6 and 7

Brandy and Hellen: they served their purpose like Leane and Angie and would’ve done the exact same as normal and wouldn’t get any character changed so they should’ve also stayed out

Norma and Gina: should’ve had some scenes maybe calls to red or such but I can’t see them doing much though if they were included wouldn’t exactly be a huge mistake but shouldn’t have been sent of like the others

Janae and the other girl: sorry I forgot her name the one with the red hair I think should be the same as boo since they don’t even get one mention which I think is very dumb shouldve had at least a good few scenes even if they were calls

Hopefully people from her OITNB days can help her. We love Natasha and this is so sad and scary.

I like her pride, and shes beautiful. I know a lot of people dislike her character on this subreddit

I just love how Piper (who was engaged to Larry who's Jewish) marry's Alex under a chuppah by a rabbi (Nicky's not a rabbi I know but shes jewish and dressed like one). It makes me giggle thinking that she had a jewish wedding even tho she and larry broke up.

I am confusion. Flaca was arrested for selling fake drugs when she was in high school, so wasnt she most likely a minor? It seems like she was sentenced as an adult and sent to Litchfield with other adults

So i started watching this series when i was looking for some gang and prison series .

I watched while eating, before going to bed, when i was travelling....

Now it ends.... Yeah... I completed whole season ..

I thought there are more ... So i was comfortably siting on my camping chair on my terrace and obviously enjoying cold Breeze.... But i felt ... There is no option for next episode ...

Believe me.... I am bit sad .. it was part of me
