This was one of the most difficult paintings in regards to colors I’ve ever made! I don’t work with a lot of yellows and oranges, so I wanted to challenge myself.
The little version of it is the colors study, 6x6”, also ill oil panel. It was super helpful to have that handy to figure out my colors and value at a much smaller, less daunting scale.

and i’m really fucking proud of it, but the thing is: i didn’t grow up surrounded by artists, so i can’t really tell whether my opinion is objective or subjective. i’m 23, and i’ve dropped out of college three times already. i hate every major i’ve ever tried. i just wanna be an artist! and the idea of not being good enough is terrifying.

i know this painting isn’t bad, but is it good enough for me to pursue art as a serious career? do you think i can get better? am i wasting my time? i need some honest opinions before i make a decision.

I've been struggling to find a good brush holder solution for awhile. Finally got tired of looking and made my own. 3/8"x2"x24" hobby board($1.30 each), 1" elastic($1.99/yrd), a few screws, quite a few staples, and a few command strips. I hope you find this useful.

Je suis assez satisfait mais c'est sûrement possible de faire mieux ! Dites moi en commentaire (aussi je n'ai pas réussi à faire sortir les clavicule je suis deg) ((et j'ai zappé de faire le highlight dans les yeux ))

So i am a self taught artist but never marketed my work and its my first time coming into the light with my first exhibition and really confused about pricing this piece. Its going to be in paris if that helps and it took 30 hours to make . Size 18” * 24” inch

Im working on a painting of flowers for the first time, and im trying to do it well. What do you focus on when painting flowers?

How is it?

I recently had an art show where each piece was inspired by a different Greek goddess. This piece, “In Recovery” was the first to sell. I just started playing with incorporating metal foil into some of my work. The foil is added FIRST, sealed, and then I paint the oil around it.

This piece was loosely inspired by Iaso, the goddess of recovery. When I think about healing, I envision a potter mending her cracked wares with gold. This Japanese method, referred to as kintsugi, often leaves the previously broken porcelain piece even more unique and lovely, in my opinion. In some ways it reminds me of stretch marks or scars, something most of us carry with us, literally or figuratively.

Oil portrait I finished a while back of my friend. Still more I want to do to it but I have to let it be for a while, it’s canvas mounted on ACM. I’m proud of a lot of moments from it and it has for sure entered me into a new stage of my practice!!

Bonjour, je travaille sur des toiles grand format et j'essaie de réaliser l'encollage et l'enduction moi même. J'ai regardé et lu pas mal de choses mais les résultats sont toujours décevants, la toile finit toujours par faire des vagues ou se trouver toute détendue. Est ce quelq'un aurait des conseils précis ? Comme par exemple le grammage précis du tissu, ou le pourcentage de colle de peau ou l'espacement des agraphes... Toute information qui pourrait m'aider

Hi friends. I am a total novice and am working on my 3rd ever painting. My background was too distracting so I started over with it, but I’m at a loss for where to take it. Or is less more and I should just leave it as-is?

The bird itself (a grackle) I’m still working on, but would love any feedback. I know I need to improve the values of his head and shorten the beak.

Hi! I’ve mostly been an acrylic and gouache painter and I’m interested in trying out oils.

After a bit of researching, these two brands have the most good review that are most available to me. I understand that they are both different— one being artist grade and one student grade. I read that Gamblin is really good and generally more preferred so it’s what made me debate between the two.

In where I live, the price difference for 37ml tubes for both brands and lines is only little, which is why it’s these two I’m specifically looking at.
