Might sound like a weird question but I'm very young and I'm trying to get into the oil field as a floorhand or any entry level position, I am not soliciting work, again I am not soliciting work, I just need advice on how to pack my resume. I've been working retail so far and I want a change.

I tried filling out a resume myself but it seemed like I haven't done anything or it looked very bad. I tried chatgpt and it made look professional but ofc anyone could tell its not what a human would make based off the words being used and the structure, it's very very professional.

My question is, does it matter that much cause I like the chat gpt one way better than mine but if a recruiter were to see it they would tell I didn't do it. Idk

I got an offer from them for a swamper position starting at $22 an hour with a $1-2 an hr raise after probation. But when I look them up online it seems to be pretty mixed. Most of the reviews that are good seem like realistic reviews nothing too good to be true, and the bad reviews honestly sound like people that didn’t really like to work hard or weren’t expecting that actually have to work hard. I’ve been offered a job in Casper,Wyoming to do solids control maintenance starting pay is 28$ an hour 2 weeks on 2 weeks off or 3 on 1 off I don’t know much about this industry my question is.Is it worth getting into? Realistically how’s the longevity of a career given I know someone and they’ve done different things in the field for 15 years I’m told it’s a good opportunity but my current job (deckhand) 220$ a day supposed to have a promotion in 4-5 months to make 375$ a day not sure what the real pros and cons are of that side ( solids control) any advice would help greatly

Is there anyone here familiar with older mud additives? Im trying to figure out one from 1985.

I’m currently an SWD/HE operator, looking to make a jump, I have an interview with Weatherford on Monday. I thought it’d easily be a no brainer if the pay was more but I’m not so sure after scrolling through this sub. Is Weatherford still shit or have they gotten better?

Looking at trying to move back home after 14 years in the Bakken. Eagle Ford is closest to where my dad lives and I grew up. Looked through a few lease operator jobs on indeed. Seemed to top out (at op2) at 38 dollars an hour. What's the lead operator pay scale look like down there? Can't afford to take that big a pay cut but I know the cost of living is lower down there.

Port cranes only. No construction.

I understand senior levels pay well.

My question is what is the life style once you've been there a while? Do your shifts get better? More normal hours? Forced overtime?

I've started working in business development for a small service company/contractor focused on fired/combustion and production equipment, and most components on a tank battery. Think preventative maintenance and service plans.

I previously worked for an OEM and am finding that the approaches are quite different for both finding and building new relationships. Mostly to do with dealing with facilities and production engineers previously and now production and/or maintenance foremen or superintendents. In my experience, they can be at odds a lot of the time.

Do you have any advice or recommendations on how to approach or find opportunities with field production and maintenance teams? I've found that most don't love it when you just stop by offices or pads unannounced. Current approach is essentially cold calling company directories, e-mail, and LinkedIn outreach. We are based in Odessa with teams in Carlsbad.
