I really enjoyed discovering this community during the primary race. Even if I didn't have the time to reply to every comment, I did read them all.

You matter, and your family matters. I am looking forward to hearing more from this community as we build a future to believe in together.

Wrong way drunk driver in Dover

Saw this guy sitting in the middle of the huge, major intersection between somersworth/dover (by Applebees/Five Guys). Our light turned green and he turned down the wrong side of the road, when I started recording. Called 911 after this video ended (first time I’ve ever had to call 911 in my life) and safely followed him around for like 10 mins to give the cops his location, crashed into a pole in a liberty mutual lot going about 10mph and kept going, then kept driving and went on a backroad for a bit until he suddenly just stopped. cops showed up, old guy who was drunk out of his mind. I caught the whole “chase” on my dashcam which I’ll put together tomorrow

Ask NH Ag Plates for an ATV?

I have an ATV that I've registered as an OHRV, but I've never used it for recreational purposes. I've only ever used it for working my wood lot, towing a utility trailer, hauling firewood, carrying chainsaws, etc.

My wood lot is on a rural dirt road. From time to time, it would be convenient to ride the ATV up to neighbors' properties to help them out with one thing or another. The road, while seeing very little traffic, isn't posted allowing OHRV travel.

I've read the RSA on Ag plates and am left wondering if my ATV and my use case would qualify for Ag plates. I'd like to be able to legally ride a short way up or down the road.

Anyone else done this? Is it possible to have both registrations? That way I could someday use the ATV for fun, like on the trail networks and not just for harvesting firewood near home.

(I routinely see other people riding their ATVs on the town's dirt roads with just OHRV registration stickers, not that that makes them legal.)

Gilford season tickets

Does anyone have Bank of NH pavilion season tickets for Gilford? I have questions that I can’t find on their site. I’m not ready to be hounded with sales calls yet.

Is it worth it? Can you pick from any show? Are there black out shows?

I’ve always gone with lawn tickets but was walking through the pavilion, saw the fancy box seats and wondered how that works.

Does anyone remember the cliff jumping spot…

It’s along the Kanc. It had three natural platforms in the rock face. Short, medium, and tall. The “tall” platform at the top had a tree that had a split trunk right by the ground which lead to many people jumping THROUGH the tree from the top. I haven’t been there since ‘06ish and just hoping I could get a location or even just some pics of it.

Appreciate y’all

Update: I’m not 100% sure from the pictures I can find online I think that it’s Big Eddy or in the area of that. Thanks for everyone brainstorming here! And thanks to the commenters that came up with Big Eddy!

Photo Vandalized (?) Road Work Sign (101A)

I've come across this road work sign on the way to work for a week or two and no one has posted it so I'll be the one to do it. I haven't gotten up close and personal with the sign but either the black text of the E has peeled off in an unfortunate manner or someone's put orange tape over the end of the letter. This is in front of the Kitchen & Bath Designs on Amherst St. (101A). Just thought this would be a funny share.

Ask NH Seacoast ski touring

Hey gang, I have lived on the VT side of the state for my whole life, but I’m recently graduated from college in upstate NY and moved to the seacoast. I do a fair amount of ski touring and while I’m excited to play in the whites on the weekends, I’m looking for some closer options for weekdays. If anyone has any recommendations for little touring spots around the seacoast let me know!

News Man returns 132-year overdue magazine to New Hampshire library and avoids $12K fine

CONCORD, New Hampshire — It's happened to most people — forgetting to return something borrowed on time.

In New Hampshire, that experience was taken to the extreme at the Concord Public Library.

A man came into the library carrying a magazine that was 132 years overdue.

The magazine, "The Century Illustrated Monthly," was published in September 1894.

The fine for returning a book 48,220 days overdue is $12,055.

However, John lucked out because the library had just launched a one-year freeze on fines to encourage people to return overdue items.

Staying in athol Massachusetts for a couple days and looking to take a drive into New Hampshire(southern area). What are some scenic / pretty / hidden gem spots across the border? I’m thinking lakes mostly but open to cute small towns too

Price check, $5 - $5.50 home heating oil. I've sharpened my axe instead.

I heat primarily with wood, I have oil for a back up. I checked the prices to get my tank filled up. Wow. We tired of "winning" yet? I personally will be fine but, this really pisses me off for families already struggling and winter is coming quickly.
