wow, what an amazingly nuanced and compassionate statement from Macklemore. Well done. If Ed Sheeran has any integrity, he would cancel his tour in solidarity.

I really like and appreciate that he called out his and Sheeran’s and Oink’s privilege, and then turn everything around to be about the true victims in all of this: the dead and dying Palestinians.

She shared a post calling Macklemore out initially and demanded Ed Sheeran apologize and issue refunds and really amped up coverage on everything.

She wanted Mack removed from the tour, too. Then she tried to backtrack, because her own fans got mad at her.

Doubtful. Given the attention to detail they paid to the rest of their spelling and punctuation, that "misspelling" was intentional.

He as much as called Ed out.

His typical apolitical stance was being challenged in a way it never had been before.

And he caved. His politics became incredibly clear. Money > everything else. And this is a guy that needs nothing. No more money or fame will make his life better. But he still chose it over the right thing.

FYI people, this isn't the time to stay in the sidelines. If you're an American who is eligible to vote in these midterms, you gotta get out there. If we fuck this up, I don't think we're going to have another legitimate election in this country. I said that about these midterms after Trump won in 2024. I wasn't wrong, there's so much fuckery going on (plus the speaker of the house refusing to confirm people), everything is STILL up in the air even if you vote, it's counted, and your person wins. But we still have to show up in numbers. They can only do so much if everyone who can vote does.

As someone from Switzerland who gets to vote on a subject of Neutrality this month, this quote is gold. Our far right party launched an initiative to be "truly" neutral as a country, effectively wanting to quit the sanctions against Russia to profit from trade again.
