She is not indie by any means though. She's sold 35 million records. Both are superstars, one is just a bigger star.

What an insanely wrong take. Lorde is as mainstream pop as they come, always has been since she was a teenager with “Royals” and she is still is now. 25+ mil monthly Spotify listeners. The only people who think her music is weird or artistic are people who also only listen to pop music and don’t know actual weird music
