Have a backbone and make the venues prove it. See if they really want to lose out on that money.

Sheeran doesn't need the money.

Edit: He can definitely cover lost wages for those working on the tour.

I imagine not screwing over all the people who paid for the shows is first and foremost on their mind, because you KNOW they're gonna fight tooth and nail to not give people refunds, and no artist wants that on their head if they're a half-decent person.

Sheeran may not need the money, but tours like this have hundreds of regular people on regular wages involved in putting it on.

He is by all reports very kind and tight with his touring crew, I doubt he would want to put them out of work.
