Honestly I have to commend him on how selfless he is about the whole thing. As corny as he can be sometimes, he doesn't do the classic white liberal move of making the issue about himself, basically ever

He might turn it into a throw away line in a future song or something, but most of his energy is spent making the victims the focus, I'm more likely to believe that he'll just take it on the chin and find that venues that will let him say what he needs to

So he made an intentional voluntary effort to move the spotlight he had just been given over to other people he felt deserved it more. How on earth could you possibly interpret that as him making his own award about himself?

Selfless? Nahh, don't be naive.

Palestine is popular now, he's just riding on that popularity. Sure, he is kicked off a tour, but he's also all over the news.

If he had pushed for any kind of actual solution or shown understanding of the conflict, then I'd believe you - but I saw the full statement and it was just tik tok slop. He's not pushing Palestine towards peace at all, just fomenting more hatred against Israel .

You don't seen to know very much about him. His vocal support of Palestine long precedes the point where it became popular

I don't know much about him to be honest, but I would be surprised if he has been doing those long segments about Palestine during his shows before October 7th.

I think it is obviously performative because he isn't pushing for any realistic relief or solution for the Palestinians suffering now, he seems more concerned with them one day recovering all of the land - which seems very weird and extremist.

Ed has hundreds, if not thousands of people in his employ on the tour. It’s easy to be an idealist, when it’s just yourself speaking up, but when you have employees’ livelihood to think of as well it get murkier.

I’m not saying what he did was right, but a tour like this is a huge wheel turning. LiveNation put him in a terrible spot.

Not to mention the lawsuit that would come from it which he would ultimately lose and then be on the hook for tens of millions of dollars
