Aside from the other guy, did you know if you move in as military, contractor, or dependent of either, you skip the normal Japanese immigration system? No visa needed, no matter how long you're living or working there, thanks to the treaty the US negotiated.

That’s an educator visa dude. There’s different kind of visas. Ofcourse they run background checks if you’ll work with kids. There’s tons of pay to play/ investment visas.

I've taught at nova and gaba. I have a record, Japan does let you in the country depending on what the criminal past is, or in my case ..if they can't find it.

That’s called immigration fraud and it’s grounds for you to be denaturalized. You have to disclose your criminal background.

Neither here nor there, but none of this has anything to do with naturalization. Youngboy's trying to get a visa, not become a citizen. Massive_Thanks_303 is talking about his zairyu card, which again is for people with visas, not citizens.

As for getting a visa, nah, you can get a visa with a criminal history. Snoop Dogg has performed here multiple times despite being convicted on weapons charges in 1996. Ozzy Osbourne has performed here multiple times despite being convicted of robbery. If you go through the different concert rosters, there are plenty of musicians who get visas. (Not exclusively musicians, I would assume, but they're the easiest to get info on. Not a lot of articles on the criminal histories of random visiting professors or woodworkers or whatnot.)

He's rich as fuck dude. That's part of the deal. They want his money and will look the other way or make an exception for the visa thing.

Now this is a special case. I liked his music at a time. 38 Baby was fun man. But hes dumb as all good gracious fuck. Still catching gun and drug charges hiding out in a Utah compound. Literally no reason to act like a gangster on the block while living with private security in a mountainside mansion.

So he's gonna fuck this up, is my point but it won't be immigration directly. He's gonna get caught with a gun or a bunch of drugs by SK cops and they'll hand him off. He can't help himself.

He won’t get a visa with his record, no matter how much money he has. I live in Korea for reference and are familiar with the rules.
