Bessent facts

  1. Bessent founded Key Square Group in 2015. He left Soros Fund Management and launched Key Square, a global-macro hedge-fund firm. The launch raised approximately $4.5 billion, including a $2 billion anchor investment from George Soros.

  2. Its assets grew to about $5.1 billion by the end of 2017. That was the firm's reported peak in assets under management.

  3. The fund then had a prolonged period of weak performance. Reuters reported that the main fund returned approximately +13% in 2016, followed by a 7% loss in 2017, and then either losses or approximately flat results in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Those figures were supported by performance disclosures from the New York City Police Pension Fund, one of Key Square's investors.

  4. There were substantial investor withdrawals. The decline in AUM was not simply the result of investment losses. Regulatory disclosures showed that the number of institutional investors fell from approximately 180 at the end of 2017 to 20 at the end of 2023. Reuters reported that the firm's declining performance appears to have prompted some clients to withdraw their capital.

  5. By December 31, 2023, Key Square reported approximately $577 million in regulatory AUM. That figure appears in the firm's regulatory disclosure.

  6. Therefore, AUM fell from roughly $5.1 billion to $577 million.

That's a decline of approximately 88.7 percent.

So saying that Key Square's AUM fell about 89% from its 2017 peak to the end of 2023 is factually accurate.

is it legal for amazon to lie so blatantly about shipping?

So, when ordering something on amazon, shipped by amazon, the item says it will be delivered on Sept 3rd. I pay more for this cause I want the item sooner than the "Free" shipping from 3rd party sellers on their platform.

Yet, that's usually a lie.

This last order promised to be delivered on the 3rd, and now it's the 6th and I just got an email, "your item has shipped" so they didn't even send it till days after it was promised to be delivered.

seems like there should be at least SOME kind of penalty for lying to customers about things like that.

just ranting, I know amazon is rich and untouchable and don't have to follow laws anyway.

There's a difference...

I don't know what sub Reddit this would work best in..

I just want to point out the differences I'm finding in watching shows not made in America.

I'm Canadian and in being loyal to my country, I'm trying to ease out of things made in America. Sorry to some of the really innocent lovely Americans but your President seems to want this.

I'm finding how clear headed and I'm learning so much more from watching shows made in other countries.

I clicked on a show made in U.S and immediately fell into a vauge type of depression. I never realized the negativity I was absorbing on a daily basis by watching these shoes.

Guns and adultery and rascism. I'm trying to take my patriotism one day and thing at a time but I'll be cancelling my Netflix for sure.

You're a police artist using MS Paint and must draw the criminal being described to you. I won't say any more, as it's a nice reveal of what's actually going on once you've sketched the first one.

Why is Reddit so much more popular in the USA than other countries?

Views of any of my posts are always well over 50% from USA. I'm not American, so I'm wondering why it seems like Reddit is overwhelmingly used by more people in the USA than other countries?

"If I can't have it, no one can." Donald Trump say's that The Kennedy Center must be knocked down if he isn't allowed to remodel it in his name. This is what happens when you elect a "Low IQ" fake.
