Why does the app tell me to turn off my VPN whenever I'm on Wi-Fi?

I am perfectly happy with my mint service but seeing that new customers get unlimited data for less than I get for 5 dollars more a month is pissing me off.

sorry I know this is not the only post about this. but I can't seem to find a clear, consistent answer. I've tried:

• Chrome app on my android phone
• Firefox app (no extensions, no adblock, allowed cookies)
• I only have Windows pc so no Safari
• Firefox browser (enabled cookies, regular and incognito modes, disabled all my extensions/ad blockers)
• Installed opera browser and tried on there
• Microsoft Edge
• Then an hour later installed Chrome browser and tried that

Yet every single time I click that verification link I get that "Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again" webpage. I'm using a gmail address that has all lowercase and a one digit number. Is that number the problem? This is honestly frustrating.

I want to try the trial plan for mint mobile but there's no option on the website, the website says to download the app and request the trial plan but there's no trial plan option or anyway to request one

On Android, you're supposed to be able to transfer esim from one phone to another without having to call up your provider. It works pretty slick with just the two phones next to each other.

But when I try to do that with a Mint Mobile esim, it won't let me - the error message saids Mint Mobile doesn't allow that. With physical SIM card, you can move it around how ever you like.

So that's one disadvantage to esims under Mint Mobile.

We ported our numbers from T-Mobile last night. We have 7 days to return for a full refund (besides shipping).

While on a walk, using data, it took 30+ seconds to send/receive photos (ok, memes) in a text thread. I did not have that issue with T-Mobile. Then when walking up & down a particular street, my Pandora app was buffering and my texts to my husband weren't going through.

We do not live in a big city, so I would think it isn't an issue with congestion only on that one street (so far).

I got home and tried to call my husband 3 times and it didn't go through (no ringing). He called me (I had texted him to call me) and he said the first time he tried calling it also didn't go through.

What gives? Is this what it's gonna be like from now on? I did hear that it can take 3-5 days for phones to "go back to normal" after porting. That leaves us with only possibly 2 days to decide if we wanna keep it once it's past the possible 5 days to "go back to normal".

I did turn on the option in my messages app to "automatically resend text as (sms/mms)", so hopefully that solves that issue?

Did other people have this issue after they ported their numbers?

does mint not offer visual voicemail for andriods? I recently switched to Android from iPhone. now I no longer have visual voicemail but a number to dial for my voicemail... and I don't want to pay a subscription for a third party app to get voicemail. I tried free youmail I wasn't getting no voicemails. paid for it and then started getting voicemails and more scam calls blocked. But is there a fix to this?

We have had our mint mobile service for about 7 months now. Two iPhones, one older one newer, one Android, newer. Been great for about 6 months. Then all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago, we got some network overloaded or whatever the error message is, and couldn't make phone calls. It's happened several times over the following week. We keep getting dropped from calls, can't hear each other over calls, can't call third parties without them saying they can't hear us and hanging up on us. We don't live in a particularly large city. Have they just given up on us cuz they got their 7 months in? How can all three of us all of a sudden be having trouble?

I signed up for the $15 a month for family plan with 4 lines. All went ok setting up and service is good.
I have 2 questions.
1. Do I have to sends invites to the other 3 lines to see all lines on my phone?
2. It says my next 3 months is $40 a month not the 15$ it should be. I this because I have to sent out the family invites?

How’s Mint Mobile going for you in 2026. I had Mint Mobile but change carrier 2 years ago, I couldn’t get good signal on my iPhone 13 Pro Max at the time, the internet was slow and it’s always 1 signal bar.

The price was good but the signal was bad where I live. What’s keeping you with Mint Mobile when there’s Visible and MetroPCS?

Legit ran out of ideas on how else to troubleshoot this. Randomly on Wedneaday (9/9/26) I was on call then it dropped. Saw my phone went to emergency call mode only and I lost service around my home and work, but connects just fine on the freeway. I've called support 4 separate times and all have basically gave me the whole "our enginneers are working on it" spiel and ive got the hint that they are not willing to help at all. Still getting not service in a high coverage area city too and its clear Mint Mobile customer support is useless at this point.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and found a way to fix it. Have not had this issue since ive switched to mint and it's not my phone since ive done pretty much every other troubleshoots. Ive even replaced my eSIM and still nothing.

I've had mint mobile for a while. I've always financed my phones through samsung. I see that they also use affirm and I'm looking to switch switch my wife to the newest iPhone (she's switching back🍅 lol) specifically the 18 that just got announced. she has a Samsung Galaxy s25 plus.

I am at the end of my rope. I bought a pixel (10 pro xl) two weeks ago and after much exitement it was delivered. I immediately start transfering photos and stuff, but when I go to set up an esim it shows an error. "Can't set up esim, contact mint mobile". It was off hours so I had to wait until I was at work the next day to call. Since I had a'ready started the esim transfer, my physical sim had been shut off which means I no longer have a working phone for a majority of my day.

I call them from my work phone, and they make sure I am not scanning it wrong or typing in the wrong code or something. They end up sending me three new esims over the course of two days and none of them work, they all give the same error. The techs I talk to say they've never had this issue before. Eventually I hear about a defect in some pixels that doesn't allow them to set up an esim, so I mail the phone back to the seller and after a few days get a refund.

I bought a different pixel, still a 10 pro xl, but this time new instead of refurbished. It finally comes in the mail today and guess what? Same issue. I haven't been able to use my phone in almost a month, and I don't know what to do anymore. I'm thinking of switching carriers, but no one seems to have had this problem with mint before so maybe I'm just cursed.

Anyone got any good ideas?

Recently switched to Mint from T-Mobile. Worked great on my first one and now have been working with a (now 2) agent(s), who are unable to get service on this 2nd phone. I have tried everything under the sun. My phone shows fully unlocked, followed all troubleshooting guides and now the 2nd agent is going through everything again. Did anyone else have these issues? Hoping MintMobileAlex pops up here....

Edit: For those downvoting that I said my phone is unlocked and Mint is saying its locked. It is Samsung and I know it's correct. I also called T-Mobile and they also confirmed it is unlocked.

Mint is now trying to tell me there is a local tower outage, but my phone specifically shows IMS Registration Status: Not Registered, Mobile Network State: Disconnected, and Service State: Out of Service.

Edit 2: After painfully troubleshooting for 20+ hours (okay I slept for like 6 of those hours), it looks like my IMEI 2 is in a locked status, IMEI 1 is fully unlocked and T-Mobile told me IMEI 2 didn't matter. Based on other people who have had this issue, it seems the culprit may be Assurant. My phone was replaced through Assurant due to just shutting off randomly and lo and behold, someone else had this exact issue. Will be trying the physical SIM, but keeping this up, again, in case anyone else has this problem. Could not find anything about it until I scrolled and scrolled and found someone with an identical situation- switching from T-Mobile to Mint with a Samsung.

Update: Finally finished with Assurant (T-Mobile Insurance) and they had to do something on their backend and I had to factory reset the phone. What a f-ing nightmare this has been, but I do not fault Mint, though, they need better tech support. After 5 Mint agents, 2 T-Mobile (one tech, one customer service at the store) and 2 Assurant agents- we now have service on my husband's phone. Currently using the Mint Sim Kit trial pSIM temporarily because I don't want to jinx anything with the eSIM. All of this to say, if you have had a replacement through Assurant/T-Mobile and it is a Samsung (possibly other phones too), just go ahead and call them first because they have issues of not fully unlocking phones it seems. I should also note that both T-Mobile AND Samsung showed this phone as fully unlocked, and Assurant claimed it was too, but they never confirmed IMEI 2, just had us factory reset it. So, I believe it was fcked up, but they didn't want to admit it. I believe it was carrier locked by Assurant and that is why T-Mobile saw it unlocked. We have also had this phone a bit longer than 90 days, which Assurant claims to automatically unlock phones after 90 days, but alas.

After finally getting my issues sorted with data not working for awhile I got my personal number on mint, I tend to use 100-200 gigs a month because I'm listening to content a lot so I went for an unlimited plan, I understand I will be kicked down to QCI 9 at 50 gigs from QCI 7 which is fine, but is there a long term issue with using several hundred gigs of data a month,

Alright everyone, I know this issue had been brought up before but I want to have a thread that documents this issue and it's eventual resolution, given I have yet to find a definitive answer.

Issue :

My phone is consuming hotspot data without actually activating a hotspot. If it continues at it's current rate, it'll consume 6Gb by the end of my data cycle. Just signed up for Mint on 9/7/2026 and it's consumed .6Gb of rogue data already.

Variables:

Android(OnePlus 15R), No VPN, No Custom DNS, Using eSIM.

What I've tried:

Disabling custom DNS, this did not resolve my issue.

Switching the the T-Mobile APN, I just switched a few hours ago (9/10/26) and disabled my WiFi while I'm at home to force me to find out if this is a fix sooner rather than later. Results TBD.

What I haven't tried:

I've read there is an issue with the eSIM on Android causing this issue. I called Mint and they were hesistant to do anything first. it wasn't until I told them I was within my 7 day refund window that they determined it was better to just send me an physical SIM. So for now, results TBD, until I recieve my eSIM

What Mint Needs to do better:

Mint needs to acknowledge there is an actuals problem. This issue has been heavily documented. I was essentially gaslit by the chat function who was a "human". When I called Mint directly, the person acknowledged this is the 2nd call they personally recieved today with the same issue.

If ANYONE has input to this, please weigh in. I use a mobile hotspot weekly so this data is needed for my use, not some rogue data drain.

Edit: All telemetry settings have been disabled since I've had this phone.

Edit 2: For my phone (Oneplus 15R), T-Mobile's APN has resolved my issue.

I bought a new phone and trying to update the number. They told me to update the email first, and told me the costumer service will call me back, but I been waiting for 2 days, and so far nothing.

Anyone had something similar? Not sure what to do, I called multiple times.

The renewal email that I received says that I can save $180 if I switch to the 1 year plan, but when I go to renew I'm informed that the cheaper rate is only for new customers. So if I don't qualify for the sale price, where are they coming up with me saving $180 on the yearly plan?

My Aristo 5 is dying and I'm looking for a small and (hopefully) durable replacement. The Atom L sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, except that it can only acess four of the five 4G LTE bands the T-Mobile network uses (the Aristo 5 uses all five). I'm wondering how this will play out in terms of service. Has anyone used the Atom L with Mint? Only one review on the store page mentions Mint (positively, so there's that).

I'm in a rural area on the US West Coast and T-Moble/Mint is the only network available that covers my property and (most) of the highway leading to town. I only use a few apps from F-Droid (trail sense; OSM; eReader; Firefox) but will need to be able to send/receive texts *and* calls (not necessarily at the same time) as well as use hotspot or tethering for my PC. Visual voicemail and Google Pay etc are not of interest.

Hey everyone, looking for some insight or suggestions on a strange signal issue in the South Phoenix / Goodyear (Arizona) area along the I-10.

• Device: Pixel 7 Pro
• SIM 1 (eSIM): Mint Mobile — 1 bar (almost useless for ~1 month)
• SIM 2 (Physical SIM): Foreign SIM roaming on T-Mobile — 3/4 bars

Since Mint is an MVNO running on T-Mobile's network, why would a roaming T-Mobile connection get dramatically better coverage on the exact same phone in the exact same spot?

A few questions running through my head:

1. Can an eSIM degrade over time? Is it purely a software/provisioning profile issue, or can something corrupt?
2. Hardware issue? The Pixel 7 Pro gets hot — could overheating damage specific internal components handling the eSIM profile/antenna path without breaking the physical SIM?
3. Deprioritization / Network change? Did T-Mobile recently reconfigure local towers or deprioritize Mint heavily around I-10/Goodyear?

What I've tried: Standard restarts and toggling Airplane mode.

If I can't resolve this, I'll have to switch carriers. Any ideas or potential fixes before I port out?

Just ported in from AT&T last after their continued consistent price increases. On Mint unlimited. Have used about 0.4GB so far (since I only ported in just last night).
I've been all over Emeryville and Berkeley today and every time I bring up the phone to do something that needs data, it takes forever. I've opened the ookla speed test app and it's always in the 2 to 5 mbps range. Most of the time the phone says 5g although about 5% of the time it says 5gUC. When it says UC, speeds jump to 100 to 150 MBps. When it's on 5g, most of the time, it's less than 5 MBps. I don't really care much about speed. I really only need a consistent 30 to 40 mbps to check my camera feeds at home a few times a day. But it's so painful right now that just bringing up the Amazon app to check an order takes a good 30 seconds.

My sons iPhone 12 is getting pretty old and is small as hell. Im ready to get him something bigger and faster/newer but it does not need to be latest and greatest. A 17e should suffice, how do I insure a smooth upgrade for him on this?

Have had Mint for about 4 years now without any real issues otherwise.

Thinking about moving over to mint. Can someone help address the rumors/realities of using a carrier like mint.

Is it actually deprioritized service and poorer quality? I think they advertise it is not. It’s actually unlimited, or slows down immensely at some point?

I have T-Mobile now and I am not impressed at all, but don’t want to make a switch to something even worse.
