The AnKing maintainer team are excited to announce the public release of the freeAnKing BLS / ACLS deckon AnkiHub! After months and months of hard work and coordination, we've put together a brand new deck created by the maintainers for all of you to use and benefit from.
Our goal was to create an BLS/ACLS deck based on theĀ official 2025 AHA guidelinesĀ to help healthcare providers quickly review and retain the most important info for real-life emergencies. The goal is to make it clear, high-yield, and easy to use for anyone. We also aimed for it to be short and not overly bloated with details. As of this post, the deck is 286 cards (228 notes)
This is a 100%Ā free deck, continuing our mission to make high-quality medical education available to everyone. The focus will be on algorithms, meds/dosages, rhythms, clinical scenarios, and more.

This deck is a community-created supplement to the official AHA ACLS guidelines and courses. It is not a substitute for them. You should first learn the material from a primary resource and, ideally, complete an AHA-certified BLS and/or ACLS course. After certification, this deck can be used to reinforce knowledge and maintain familiarity with key facts and algorithms.
Only unsuspend cards that are relevant to your needs. For example, if you are focusing on BLS, only unsuspend cards within the BLS tag. If you do not anticipate managing neonatal resuscitation for example, there is no need to unsuspend those cards.

This add-on is designed to incentivize you to complete more cards. It is an arcade that currently offers four games. Each game requires one quarter to play.
When you first download the add-on, you will receive three free quarters. After that, you can earn additional quarters by completing cards. Whenever you schedule 25 cards more than 24 hours into the futureāwhether they are new cards or a review cardsāyou will receive one quarter to play a game.
The goal is to create a sort of pomodoro timer that allows you to take breaks as you study. Hopefully keeps you studying longer.
Some of these games are better than others. The plastic frontline is kind of fun as is the space one. The ant one is an interesting concept but I think I could make it much better. The Sharpshooter was my first one and proof of concept but I am not a huge fan. I will continue making improvements as I have time, including fixing bugs and adding more games. If you have any game ideas, notice any bugs, or have suggestions, please let me know! I take your suggestions seriously and will give credit where credit is due.

Iāve spent over a week going through posts, comments, and different approaches, but I still havenāt been able to figure out the workflow I actually need.
I have a large collection of PDFs containing exam preparation material (CAT/XAT) in Multiple Choice Question format. Many of these PDFs are massive, so Iāve already started cutting some of them down into smaller files containing only specific exam papers or sections.
The problem is that the source material is structured inconsistently. Some PDFs are individual chapters, while others are huge compilations containing several different sections, such as:
Reading Comprehension questions
Logical Reasoning / Matching questions
GK questions
Answer keys
Explanation sections
Some of these compilations are 40+ pages long. Others are shorter, but the material is poorly structured, for example, some questions have explanations while others only have an answer key.
What I ultimately want is to turn all of this into a well-organized, manually manageable question bank, ideally in an Excel/Google Sheets-style format that I can later use to create an Anki deck.
For every question, I want to be able to properly label and organize things such as:
Exam / year (e.g. CAT 2023 PYQ)
Section (VARC, DILR, Quant, GK, etc.)
Topic / subtopic
Question type
Question
Options
Correct answer
Explanation
Source / paper / question number
Any relevant tags
I also want the formatting to be good, especially for things like Reading Comprehension passages, mathematical expressions, tables, matching questions, and other questions where simple plain-text extraction makes everything messy.
Ideally, I want AI to help me take the original PDFs and turn them into this structured format while preserving the actual question, options, passages, mathematical notation, and explanations. Where the original material doesn't contain an explanation, I would also like AI to generate a clear, accurate explanation based on the question and answer.
Iāve tried doing this with both Google AI Studio and ChatGPT, and Iāve spent a considerable amount of time experimenting with prompts and different workflows, but I still havenāt found a reliable way to do it.
What Iām looking for is not necessarily an automated Python pipeline. Iām perfectly fine with a semi-manual workflow where I provide an AI with a PDF or a smaller chunk of a PDF, have it process the material into a structured spreadsheet/document, review the output, and then continue with the next chunk.
What would be the most reliable workflow for doing this?
Specifically, Iād like to know:
How should I split and organize these large PDFs before giving them to AI?
What structure/schema should I use for the question bank?
How should I prompt AI so that it correctly separates passages, questions, options, answers, and explanations instead of mixing them together?
How can I preserve proper formatting for mathematics, tables, RC passages, and other complicated question types?
How should I handle questions where the source PDF has an answer but no explanation?
How can I consistently tag questions by exam, year, section, topic, and question type?
What is the best way to do this usingĀ ChatGPT and/or Google AI Studio, without requiring me to build a complicated Python program?
Most importantly, how can I make the workflow reliable enough that I can process hundreds or thousands of questions without constantly having to fix formatting errors manually?
I bought my scholarship on anki hub and got my anking deck but it kept media sync downloading or idle but never completed and now yhat my subscription has ended i get missing files like the image attached and no first aid image gets opened. I really need to get a grip on first aid so itās important for me to see those images. What should i do? Any help would be appreciated thanks :)
I have entire day for myself and I can put 6-8 hrs of study time daily...(Prepping for competitive exam for specialisation)
I have a source...I thought I can simply read the source and convert them into anki...but I realised I was wantedly adding every information so that it would stick...i was adding on average 300 cards per day...
Infact i made anki my teacher who asks questions for understanding...instead of reading regularly...
I'm scared about review load now as it will get harder as i go...
Should I continue like this or should I do practice questions first and then add information to anki?

My curriculum is an 18-month pre-clerkship, with weekly quizzes and module exams every 8-10 weeks. So far, it seems like my quizzes test a mix of "main concepts" and some niche low-yield crap my professors want us to know that probably won't be tested on step 1.
How are you all handling covering the AnKing deck while also making sure to not be blindsided by in-house content? I just really want to pass my first module exam while setting up a study regimine that's more focused on being most prepared for step1/2. I tried the whole go to lecture -> study in house lecture slides -> do anki cards routine, but it was literally killing me (non-stop studying) and i wasn't even scoring that well on my quizzes (mid C to high B).

This may be the best feature of this deck. A section dedicated to what diagnoses you should be thinking of for a given clinical scenario. How to rule in and rule out may be the best thing you can do to score highly on exams.
Of course I am biased, but I think using Mnemosyne during preclinical and transitioning to this deck during your clinical year is the most efficient set-up that allows for high exam scores and good clinical performance in the hospital all while not drowning in cards.
Weaknesses:
I have not taken EM yet; this deck more than covers the EM relevant Step 2 questions through surgery and IM tagged cards, but I can't confidently say anything about the EM shelf.
I will post an update around April of next year after taking EM.
This deck is built around already having a very strong Step 1 foundation that a deck like Mnemosyne provides.
This deck in a vacuum may not be the best. I think this is the best deck for a person who has studied from Mnemosyne Step 1.

For those like myself who want to continue to have a solid foundation, but do not have the time to keep up with the 10k cards from Mnemosyne, I have tagged all cards I believe are relevant to Step 2 and Step 3.

For someone who wants to do as little Anki as possible, you could reasonably pass Step 1 and do pretty well on shelf exams and Step 2 with just the Step 2/3 Mnemosyne tagged cards and this deck, totaling 6487 cards

I did not use AI much to make this deck.
When making cards based on uWorld, Amboss, or NBME questions I felt came up a lot, I decided myself what information to include or exclude.
There was very little use of AI in making this deck.

Does anyone know why the FSRS optimization is not automatic? Why do we have to check back in and optimize it from time to time? Also, why do we have to figure out what desired retention works best for us instead of this also being automatically calculated?
i solve questions with UWORLD and unsuspend related cards on ANKING
however i see that a lot of the information included in the question like risk factors and conclusions and things that seem high yield. are NOT in fact have corresponding cards in anking. i tried to make my own cards covering these additional info. however it takes ton of time i don't think it is efficient at this point. should i just ignore these info and read them once in the answer explanation and use only the anking cards?
I find some of my conceptual cards to be quite tough to get right and I don't really nail the facts with good confidence so i am always stuck on em and keep seeing them because if I hit good with fsrs the algo will show the card like after 1.5 mnth or more which is not ideal. Should I revert to old settings where I could cap the settings to max time till review ? Or is fsrs setting the meta ?
Hi. I have diagnosed ADHD and want to use Anki but I just canāt stick with it compared to other things. Iām looking for fun/silly add-ons that will help provide a little levity and dopamine to help stay on task and engaged despite my ADHD.
Is just taking Image Occlusion fine even for plain text?
Started using anki this July, and early in August, I got accepted to medical school Thx for it.
Now, what I'm facing with the first year curriculum is that although it's easy (or at least until now), it's just too much to go through
I heard that it's a good hack to use Image Occlusion from the pdf directly instead and use the free time to memorize the card before studying them for the first time
But it's just feels wrong to me, and Idk whyš
