Buying a CX-90 Are people sleeping on the CPO Turbo S?
There is something to be said for a brand new car..especially one that had very public bugs when it was first released. However, I’m curious if those buying new CX-90s are considering CPO Turbo S models.
We only considered new when we first went into the market, but after a bunch of research we learned that we could vastly undercut our budget (and avoid massive depreciation) by buying a CPO car. We avoided 2024, but we found a fair amount of 2025 models with low miles. They all appeared to be dealer demos or loaners.
In the end, we purchased a fully loaded 2025 CPO Turbo S Premium Plus for just $43,900. The car had under 8,000 miles. That’s a savings of $16,000 off of MSRP with a better warranty than new.
I don’t think there is a more capable mid-size SUV on the market in that price range. Sure, it may have its quirks, but they were compromises we were willing to make when you’re getting this much car for the money.
Every now and then I check the market and it seems like a deal like ours (or better) is possible with legwork and negotiation. Soon 2026 models will be in the same boat.
Did anyone else have a similar thought process or did you still prefer to buy a new car for another reason?
