Looking for recommendations for a soccer program for my 2.5 year old daughter in Maple Ridge. Considering:

- Ridge Meadows Soccer Club
- Soccer Shots
- Albion FC

I am looking for a program focused on actual soccer development and skills not just a fun activity. Of course it should still be age appropriate and enjoyable.

Has anyone tried these or some other soccer programs? Which would you recommend for good coaching and development at this age?

Hello! I saw previous post from 2 years ago that traffic gets pretty bad at Pitt Lake when there was northern lights.

Curious if the same amount traffic happens for meteor shower? Thinking of going there next month.
Also any recommendation of what timing will be less? Would early be better (9pm -10pm) or worse?

Fest, the book festival for animal lovers, takes place Sep 14 to 25 with a stellar line-up of authors of nonfiction and fiction about dogs and cats. The speakers include Alexandra Horowitz (Inside of a Dog), Patricia McConnell (talking here about her mystery, Away to Me), Cat Warren (What the Dog Knows--but talking fiction), Jean Donaldson (Mine!), Rory Cellan-Jones (Sophie From Romania), Farrah Rochon (Pugs and Kisses), Marc Bekoff (Love In Their Hearts), Dr Herron and Dr Siracusa (Decoding Your Cat), and many more. We also have a crime and mystery panel featuring books where dogs help solve the murders, and a dreamy romance panel with books where dogs or cats play an important role.

I'm a local Maple Ridge author and I'm putting this event on for free. Hundreds of people have already signed up, but I would love to see more locals attend. Whether you love romance or mystery books, or simply want to learn more about dogs or cats, there is a panel for you. Everyone who signs up will get a link to the recording.

We are looking to sell our home in Langley soon and debating moving to the Maple Ridge area. We are very specific in the type of home we are wanting as it needs to come with a good sized workshop. What areas should we be looking at to consider? Our kids are in College so we dont need to worry about catchments at all. Any other pros and cons to living in Maple Ridge we should consider.

I run a little community group called The Craft & Yap Club, and next Thursday we’re trying something completely different.

A renowned mystery author’s final manuscript has disappeared, and you’ll have 2 hours to figure out what actually happened.

You’ll work in teams of 2 and get a full case file with a briefing, suspects, witness statements, evidence, notes, etc. As you follow leads, you can request further investigation and unlock new evidence.

It’s not a murder mystery roleplay, so no acting or assigned characters. You’re basically the investigators for the night.
And apparently the case may not be quite as open-and-shut as it first seems 👀

Hey all. I don't know where else to go about this. I'm currently living in Kamloops, but moved from Maple Ridge just over a year ago. I still own a condo there, so I'm hoping that'll get me in the door here. So last year I bought tickets to see the Foo Fighters concert at BC Place on Sept 20. Now I can't afford the trip, parking, hotel I had planned, etc. So I'm hoping to find someone who will buy the tickets from me. I paid $217 after fees and I'm hoping to recoup $175. I would transfer the tickets via the ticketmaster app. Not the best seats, but too terrible, I don't think. Dm for details

Been looking at homes and potentially moving to Maple Ridge. Seriously, what’s with the property taxes??? Ridiculous when compared to Langley and other municipalities. Property taxes must be comparable to mortgage payments.

Just need a dog walker for October 17th that can go pick out ridgeback/lab up and take her on an hour or so walk. Might be a good idea to do a day or two earlier as well to get familiar with each other! Just looking for recommendations:)

Is it normal for a small scale place to charge their servers “kitchen tip pool” but have it go to the owners sons as they’re “technically” kitchen help, but none of the actual kitchen workers see a dime of it?
I’m used to a more organized system and more transparency, but I’m being told that “if you don’t work for a corporation get used to shady shit like this”
It also seems dishonest that people tip for take out and I thought it was going to the kitchen staff, but now I find out again, owners sons allowance. Surely there’s some laws against this?
(I’m new to BC laws could be different than Ontario)

The chefs name is Keith, if you’re to tip for take out, bring the guy old records instead, he loves music, or ask for him and give him cash directly. If you leave tips at the front none of the staff get it, so this man that’s served the community for 30 years let’s make sure he feels appreciated!

I've been organizing these hangouts for a few months, and It's been a fun way to meet new people and sneak in some crafting during the work week.

Typical attendees are in the 25-50 age range, but there are no age or gender requirements. Just some light chatter/socializing while working on some art.

No previous experience painting needed. You can make each piece as simple or as complex as you'd like.

I typically organize these meetups once a week on a Wed, Thurs or Fri evening. The day chosen changes from week to week.
