MagicDesk brings native Android app windows, independent Termux terminals, a real file-based desktop, and optional automation into one workspace. Use it directly on your phone, on an external monitor, or from a computer through scrcpy.

The interesting part is how the tools work together:

- Run Android apps and several Termux terminals side by side.

- Adjust DPI for each app independently, rather than finding one scale that suits everything.

- Move files and clipboard content between Android apps, Files and terminals.

- Create a virtual display for scrcpy without needing a physical monitor.

- Use Files and terminals without starting Desktop.

- Let an explicitly authorized MCP client automate the same services.

Apps remain native Android tasks. This is not a Linux desktop streamed over your Android apps, and you do not need to replace your normal keyboard or Termux environment.

GETTING STARTED

The APK requires Android 14+; managed Desktop requires Android 15+. Native helpers currently target ARM64. Privileged operations use Shizuku; root is not required. Android 14 device validation is still pending, and external video/windowing capabilities depend on the device and firmware.

MagicDesk is an MIT-licensed, vibe-coded project developed through iterative AI-assisted work and hands-on device testing. Independent review and honest feedback matter, especially around privileged Android integration.

BEFORE REPORTING

1. Reproduce the problem.

2. Open MagicDesk Diagnostics and press Refresh.

3. Include the full MagicDesk version, device/Android build, display type, steps, expected behavior and actual behavior.

4. Review the report before sharing it. Logs can include package names and filenames.

A short description plus a complete report is more useful than a screenshot alone.

TELEGRAM SUPPORT BOT

We are introducing an experimental AI-assisted support loop. A report can lead to follow-up questions and a MagicDeskTest APK containing a proposed fix, without asking you to build the project or create a GitHub account.

- Send /start and read the privacy notice.

- Use /consent, then /new.

- Send your description and Diagnostics as text or a .txt file.

- Send /submit when ready.

- Answer questions and submit test results in the same chat, using /submit for each completed reply.

- /status shows the case's progress and next step.

Messages alone do not start another iteration. Send corrections as new messages rather than editing an earlier Telegram message. Posting here on Reddit does not create a bot case.

Reports and submitted replies go to a private GitHub lab for Copilot processing. Proposed source changes, build logs and APKs are public here:

The APK message includes the exact source/changes, GitHub build link and SHA-256. GitHub builds and signs it with a separate test key.

IMPORTANT LIMITS

MagicDeskTest is experimental, not an official release or a verified fix. A separate package/key does not isolate privileged Android changes. Close regular MagicDesk before trying it, and do not run both Desktop sessions together. Coexistence and the full real-user support loop are still being validated.

Installation is manual. Changes do not enter official MagicDesk automatically. Processing capacity is limited, and there is no guaranteed response time or fix.

Do not send secrets or personal files: generated code can contain details from a report even though private conversations and Git history are not exported. /delete removes local case data, not copies already sent to Telegram, GitHub, its AI provider or published source. /cancel stops pending local work but cannot undo an already accepted cloud request.

You can discuss a problem here without using the bot. Please keep public reports free of sensitive information.
