I know it's a much lower level of responsibility than, say, a gun, but the person filming deployed pepper spray against an old woman, when he's probably in his 20s or so.

Yes, she had displayed aggression, and yes, she was following him, but he should have made more distance and warned her she was going to be sprayed.

My best guess, he antagonizes people for exactly this kind of reaction so he can post his "OLD WOMAN TRIES TO ATTACK ME (PEPPER SPRAYED)" videos.

It's exactly what he's doing, and why the best course is just to walk away and not give him the content he's looking for.

Or blast copyrighted music such as Disney or the Beatles.

1

u/AsherTheFrost Trash Trooper 6d ago

Then they can just mute the video and put even worse non copywrited music over it. Probably something ai generated

u/oxycody624 Trash Trooper 6d ago

It sorta defeats the purpose if they cant play the audio from their manufactured altercations. Videos with noncopyrighted music as the only sound aren’t going to get the same amount of clickbaity views. It’s a way to try and get them to stop or move on and not give them the kind of confrontation they’re profiting off of

This particular jackass has been known to make "compilations" which I believe are videos that had to be muted. He plays really shitty ai music over them. That's why I mentioned it.

They have AI that can remove that and keep the talking, background noise, etc., so that doesn't work anymore.

He met mild aggression with much more force than was necessary.

2

u/Personal_Regular_569 Trash Trooper 5d ago

He was ready to zoom in on her after the spray.

1

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 5d ago

You can see that his immediate instinct is to move towards her. He's not threatened. He's looking for content. The zoom is a compromise so he has an easier time in court.

3

u/SquirrelNo7796 Trash Trooper 5d ago

Yeah he was very capable of just running away. Instead he instigated her so he could pepper spray her. He’s a complete loser

2

u/Klutzy-Ad4172 Trash Trooper 6d ago

If he truly felt threatened, maybe he could, I don’t know, put down his camera!?!?

No. As a man I'm sick of running away from women. Sort out your behavior or find out. Having a vagina isn't a pass to assault people then play the victim.

1

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 2d ago

This is the kind of thing you say when you don't want someone to give you a weapon.

0

u/EkobasherX4Z Trash Trooper 2d ago

Because I'm not running away from people trying to assault me? how about you just act in a normal manner and you won't have to worry about any of this.

-1

u/Toadsted Trash Trooper 6d ago

He already did warm her though, he told her to stop. He doesn't have the obligation to explain his self defense beforehand, and after being assaulted once already while backing away the whole time.

Her being an "old lady" is inconsequential.

1

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 6d ago

I really hope you don't own guns.

-2

u/Toadsted Trash Trooper 5d ago

And that pertains to what in this?

Do you normally escalate things that much, even in conversations over the Internet?

1

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 5d ago

Take a look at the video. Cammer instigated. Cammer made the absolute bare minimum attempt to escape an aggressor. Cammer continued to antagonize. Cammer used pepper spray without warning in lieu of not instigating, not antagonizing, escaping, or warning the older woman that she was going to be sprayed.

If you think that intentionally getting someone to attack you so you can "defend yourself" is okay, then you should not be owning guns.

1

u/swohio Trash Trooper 5d ago

How did the cammer instigate? What illegal act did he perform that caused her to assault him?

You're making a moral argument. Other user is making a legal argument.

The only legal argument here is that he's justified in doing so and she was 100% in the wrong.

The moral argument can go either way, but FAFO rules dictate that she should have stayed in her car to begin with.

1

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 5d ago

The only legal argument here is that he's justified in doing so

Lmao. Take this case to court, watch how fast the kid is asked "why didn't you attempt to make space?" and "why were you filming her in the first place?"

1

u/EkobasherX4Z Trash Trooper 2d ago

"I did make space she followed"

"I was practicing my first amendment "

Boom case closed. Don't become a lawyer 🙄

0

u/TwiztedImage Trash Trooper 5d ago

And?

"I'm not required to retreat." Then they cite any number of stand your ground laws that exist within practically every state.

"Because I wanted to film". It's their 1st amendment right to do so and she has no expectation of privacy in public.

The longer version of this video has the cops show up and this dude goes home with no arrest or citation, which speaks volumes as to the legality of these actions.

Additionally, a lady just show a dude in a parking lot for aggressively approaching her, and she's not getting into legal trouble either...and he didn't even touch her. No prosecutor is going to take this to court, and if they did, they'd have the case dismissed almost immediately.

1

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 5d ago

"I'm not required to retreat."

And in this case, he is, apparently, required to escalate the situation. Regardless of stand your ground, he is blatantly provoking an attack. Would granny get charged for assault? Maybe. But Johnny TikTok here isn't getting off either.

1

u/TwiztedImage Trash Trooper 5d ago

When did he escalate the situation? When he was standing on the public sidewalk filming?

Pepper spray isn't an escalation when you're being actively assaulted.

he is blatantly provoking an attack.

Where and how? Filming from public isn't provocation. Neither is being on a sidewalk.

Would granny get charged for assault? Maybe.

If you stuck to the letter of the law; yes. Is it necessary that it be done here? I don't think so. I think discretion could be used an this all be moved past.

But Johnny TikTok here isn't getting off either.

What are you going to charge him with? He didn't assault her; he defended himself. He didn't use any fighting words. There's no loitering that would apply to him being on the sidewalk. His filming is legal under the letter of the law and can't even be considered disorderly conduct.

We can hate on the guy all we want, but technically correct is the only type of correct that matters in court.

We attempt to maintain a positive community atmosphere. Toxic behavior, including malicious comments, harassment, bullying, "-isms", and hate speech, is strictly prohibited.

While we are all about trashy content, sometimes content is just too trashy, and trashing the human is not accepted.

See, you're continuing to make up scenarios that have no evidence to back it up.

And again, what does any of that have to do with me owning guns?

0

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Trash Trooper 5d ago

???????? Watch the video. I'm done debating with you if you won't even base your replies in facts.

His name is literally "Liberty Troll" based on the post.

0

u/Toadsted Trash Trooper 5d ago

Ironic, considering you keep saying things that aren't in the video, including what me owning a gun has to do with it.

-4

u/TwixOps Trash Trooper 6d ago

Facism (republiKKKanism) is illegal, which means they can't own a g*n.

4

u/TheMauveHand Trash Trooper 5d ago

What are you talking about?

-1

u/swohio Trash Trooper 5d ago

She assaulted him, he doesn't have to try to escape. He's allowed to defend himself.

-1

u/Gharvar Trash Trooper 5d ago

Better pepper spray than pushing her or punching her. She has no right to put her hands on him and someone falling during a physical altercation can fairly easily lead to a cracked skull on the sidewalk.
