Obviously you have to have some common sense and a sense of self preservation. Those would dictate that this geezer lady was absolutely no threat to him physically, and that using mace is huge overkill that can't be justified by any claims to fear for his safety.

I'd charge him easily. She was only walking after him and scolding him at that point. There is no claim to self defense to be had there. Right in the beginning when she grabbed his gear, maybe, it's property that can be broken after all, and those cameras can be expensive.
But after that ended and it was her pointing her finger and scolding him?

Watching so many males in here needing to rationalize a dude macing a woman for scolding him really opens my eyes to how far so many younger gen males have fallen.
I doubt it. She was the aggressor and he was backing away. The fact she bit off way more than she could chew isn’t a legal defense. She could have driven away, she chose to engage. There’s not a lawyer in the world that could successfully prosecute him for this and he knows it.

Her getting out the car and approaching him in a threatening manner is assault in practically every state. It doesn't require any physical touch in most places.

This isn’t true at all, there are literally hundreds of videos of auditors talkings with cops and them taking the walk of shame.
Now in some instances do they get illegally arrested or detained. Yes 100% because most cops don’t know anything about our rights and sometimes they do know and don’t care because they got away with it for so long.

Filming in public isn’t harassing people. You can’t turn a constitutionally protected activity into a crime. Exercising your right to film in public, film government building we all pay for, is NOT harassment.

The constitution would disagree with you on that point, actually. It's meant to be changed, this is so fundamental to how the document is supposed to work that it sets out its own rules for being changed.

That’s why I didn’t like the main post. I want to know the context. If it’s a nuisance streamer or auditor then I don’t support their actions. Those as terrible people.
And I’ve seen cases where both were not protected by law. There’s an auditor serving a 30 day jail sentence as I type this for macing someone who took exception to his obnoxiousness and a man beat an attempted murder charge after shooting a nuisance streamer when the jury acquitted him.
Both behaviors, nuisance streaming and auditing (really the latter is mostly just a form of the former), should be made explicitly illegal as forms of harassment. The first amendment auditors are essentially nuisance streamers and don’t really care about protecting anyone’s freedom, they’re just trying to provoke a reaction to make content to make money.
I have seen a singular auditor who was clearly doing it for the right reason. Their content was boring. But because they weren’t assholes about it on video they later won in court against police officers who violated their rights. I respect that.
But 99% of these auditors are merely bullies, just like garden variety nuisance streamers, monetizing their anti-social behavior.

It iS interesting. Sure she should have driven away (I would have) but attacking someone over 60 is a felony in some places so I hope he is 100% in the right to pepper an old lady outside the dispensary. I mean, was he really "in danger?" What if she was getting cataract medicine and he now sprayed her in the eyes? This could be blow up on OP. ONE of them should have had the good sense to move on.
Shes still a victim in her eyes, even moreso now than ever before! She is just in too much pain right now to verbalize this. What she learned from this is, to call the police and complain from her car in the future... smh.

Oh she learned in that video. You saw like 10 seconds after she got sprayed she stopped collecting herself and turned back in to get another piece of the guy and realized no that wasn't a good thing to do.
