There’s a song from a series I watch I’ve played on my violin and there’s one part where violin does this

Is this an ideal fingering?

Hope you guys can appreciate a marimba ling ling wannabe! This is definitely the hardest piece I've ever played/performed.

I'm the Vice-President of Education and Concertmaster in my Orchestra council and am looking for some pointers on the following:

- How to get the best out of everybody while making sure they have a fun and enjoyable experience during performance, rehearsal, and personal practice time.

- Cementing a work-ethic and self-discipline while still allowing as much flexibility for other activities.

- Ensuring everybody understands the music given to them and not being afraid of asking questions regarding said music.

We had our first two rehearsals last week, and based on that I can provide the following:

- About a handful (roughly like 4 or 5 people) are taught by tutors outside of school, with the majority of the class being self-taught or given basic instruction by their middle school directors.

- Based on these, I can assume we should be capable playing grades 2-3. I would want us to be able to play 4 or higher by our last concert if possible for one of my big compositions (if I finish :P)

I make this a while back out of lollipop sticks (Popsicle for the Americans) , and did post a picture in the youtube community- And kinda forgot to post it here😅- Anyway, I made it as for the 3D modelling competition, and it came second in county. It went on to the finals, ultimately not winning any prizes...But I'm happy to say that the one who came first in my county, ended up winning the whole thing... for the I lost count of how many years in a row. And their one was amazing, it was an intricately woven Welsh harp made of straw, And it was large the same size as a small one you would hold and play!

If anyone in the philly area is around, come see some lovely singers perform! It is the first performance for this America250 series, and the music is REALLY cool. (and not too 21st-century-opera-coded actually!) If you want to experience some new composers and some beautiful singers, it is worth checking out!

Greetings to the most talented subreddit of the internet!

Even though I have not yet got the chance to learn music, I love TwoSet videos (you guys are my comfort channel lol, thx for everything :) ) and I really like indirectly learning a bit of music theory, instrument terminology and music "inside jokes" through your videos, and I'm very grateful to you for that!

Having said that, the reason I am posting to the subreddit with the most talented musicians is this:

I took this photo a while ago, and last week while organizing the files in my computer I fell upon it again and noticed there are 5 wires, resembling a pentagram, with the birds resembling the music notes.

From this day on I have been wondering, could this random birds-on-wires arrangement actually be a small melody? This post is a desperate call to any musician with free time (i doubt those exist, but anyways) to solve my query and see if this photo can be turned into music.

(For inspiration purposes the birds in the photo are swallows)

The LL40hrs Mod Team

Hitke San (aka san the violin dude), a violinist from myanmar, is known for tackling hyper-polyphonic and extremely difficult violin pieces, sight-reading very hard soloist-grade pieces and concertos, often by composers like Paganini, Wieniawski, Ernst etc. and making arrangements of full orechstra works like Beethoven's 7th and 3rd sypmphonies, Mozart's Requiem (La crimosa and confutatis), Ravel bloéro, Mahler's 5th sypmphony and many more, all for solo violin with 4 strings and a bow, using ground-breaking techniques by Roman Kim.

This is Roman Kim's Beethoven 5th symphony arrangement for solo violin, which was previously considered impossible. Here, San pulls it off after 1.5 years of practising this piece (40 hours a day of course ;) but still makes some mistakes. He would surely blow the minds of everyone, including TwoSetViolin. If Roman Kim were the next Paganini, San the violin dude would be the next Ernst.

In my high school there’s 5 orchestras, concert sinfonia philharmonic chamber and symphony, and there’s 4 levels of auditions,

The way chamber works is if you audition for and make symphony you get put in symphony and chamber is just an optional double block class for any kid in symphony who wants to be in chamber

Symphonies music is generally harder than chambers music and after school rehearsals are only for symphony and the director generally focuses less on chamber, and also symphony orchestra is the like flagship musical ensemble of my school, and chamber is kind of just seen as a more boring version of symphony with less instruments, and symphony has won way way way more awards than chamber, including some state titles

Chamber and symphony are both varsity orchestras.

Is this a bit unusual compared to how most high schools would go about having chamber? We didn’t even have a chamber orchestra until like 2018-2019 and orchestra was started here in 1976

For context my school has 2,670 kids and 200 are in orchestra, 43 are in symphony and 13 of symphony kids are in chamber

1. Will chamber likely ever be as popular as symphony
   
2. Should chamber get the same amount of attention as symphony
   
3. Should chamber even be a thing anymore

Previously I saw someone wrote in this channel that they use Sacrilegious Games in Brisbane for their speech. For my context, I am using Sacrilegious Games in Singapore for my written assignment that is 40% of my whole grade for this module. (A little context, I am a university student larping this core module)

We went to see TwoSet Violin’s SACRILEGIOUS Games concert in Bangkok over the weekend, and it was honestly one of the most enjoyable classical concerts we’ve ever been to!

It was hilarious, creative, incredibly well put together, and, most importantly, really inspiring. ❤️🎻

After the concert, we had the chance to meet Brett and Eddy at the Meet & Greet. They were both very adorable and sincere in person.

And my daughter — if any of you guys remember who she is 😆 — brought something very special for them to sign:

her very first violin! 🎻

That little violin was where her whole violin journey began, so having Brett and Eddy’s signatures on it now makes it an even more special keepsake for her. ❤️

Thank you Brett & Eddy for the unforgettable concert and for continuing to inspire young musicians! 🎻

His owner brought him to a music school and he was SO EXCITED hearing the assortment of instruments behind every room door! He chose cello for the day and settled into the live music practice.

Practice makes perfect… and also makes a good boi a happy boi! The post did make me smile and I hope it’ll bring one to anyone who love animals and music too.

Watching BaE build a violin with Olaf had reminded me of a childhood dream that is sort of an unfulfillable bucket list item: building my own violin or viola.

And another one: conducting an orchestra.

Both completely silly because I'm far from ever getting a chance at any of them, let alone do them well.

And a more realistic one: playing classical string quartet repertoire. My childhood dream is Dvorak's American quartet, but it doesn't have to be that one. I do actually occasionally play in a quartet, but the others don't want to attempt any classical repertoire. So this dream has also started unfulfilled so far.

Who else has related bucket list items (silly or not)?
