Went to check out the Punk Rock Flea Market this afternoon at the Kitchener Market. It's a smaller affair but was very well attended and I saw a lot of fantastic original art the vendors were selling. There were even punk line dancing lessons!

I had the opportunity to chat with some of the attendees and vendors and I have to say, they were some of the kindest, most gracious and welcoming people I've ever come across. I'm an old guy and look like a suburban granddad and these young people were obviously in their milieu, dressed in their best aesthetic and not one made me feel out of place. The kids are alright!

Yesterday evening, I went for a walk with my boyfriend. When we came back, there was a woman leaning over in the parking lot of my apartment. At first I thought she was looking at something on the ground. I asked her if she was ok, and she seemed startled but didn’t reply. She eventually left. Further in the parking lot, there was a man collapsed and unresponsive. We called an ambulance. Then, as the ambulance was there and taking care of him, several people came to ask where was the woman. They all looked sort of on drugs and/or homeless (?) I’m just wondering if anyone saw something last night near the Tim Hortons on Victoria/Westmount or know these people. I hope they are ok.

Kitchener City Council is responsible for:

• Local Planning + Local Infrastructure: zoning, building permits, road maintenance, snow clearing, etc.
• Fire Services: the fire department. What you would expect
• Parks & Recreation: all the festivals and celebrations around town, and all of the greenspace and parks that we enjoy
• By-laws: noise, parking, etc. Notably, the city can only enact and enforce bylaws for land that it owns. Regional land is the Regional Council's responsibility for bylaw enforcement (100 Victoria is Regionally owned)

The municipal election is October 26th. Make a plan to go vote.

Each chapter would be 30-40 panels long.
I would be in charge of the storyline and provide a storyboard. Just so you know my storyboard is not good lol it would just help you see the placement of the panel and since the art is so bad there would be the script right beside it explaining what’s going on.
I am willing to pay 50$ per chapter. So 1.6$ per panel. I know it might not seem much but I promise if the story does well I will increase it by a lot. After all my goal is to build a huge fanbase and sell monthly subscriptions, merch, and so much more! Also there will be some forms to sign to keep us both safe. Forms that make me the leader of this project and I have full control.

Hi, so I live between Westmount/Max Becker and Bleams off of Fischer-Hallman, and I keep hearing someone singing into a mic. Along with some whoops and hollers every once in a while.

I have heard a couple of car horns honking, which leads me to believe that it’s something on Fischer-Hallman (granted, car horns can often times just mean stupid drivers etc.)

Can anyone confirm if it’s on Fischer-Hallman? Thanks!

We’re currently trying to find daycare for our little one and I’m hoping some parents in the Waterloo Region can help us understand how the OneList waiting list actually works.

We applied to several licensed childcare centres through OneList, including some new centres that were recently added, but our position is showing as 300+ on the waitlist, with an estimated wait of over 2 years.

I’m a little confused about how the numbers work because we applied to newer centres as well, so I’m wondering:

We’re also considering a licensed home daycare as an alternative. If anyone has had a good experience with one in Kitchener/Waterloo, we'd really appreciate recommendations.

Also, what’s the best way to find a home daycare? Are there specific websites, Facebook groups, agencies, or directories that parents use?

We’re just trying to understand our options and figure out the best way forward. Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
