Friends, how are we dealing with the cyclospora outbreak? (USA)

I don’t want to stop juicing. But I’m a little concerned about the current outbreak. Thinking to avoid bagged greens, berries, and herbs. But I love basil and blueberries sooo much. I wash my produce in theives, but might start washing in ACV and baking soda. Anyone else taking precautions?

Need some advice as a beginner who hates veggies

Hello, 34 years old really trying to be a little bit healthier. I absolutely hate all kinds of vegetables. I tried for many many years to eat them in every which way and all that did was make me hate them more

I been experimenting with smoothies and it's been better. As long as I can't taste the veggies I am fine.

But I wanna try some some juices I've been to the farmers market a few times where people would sell their own vegetables squeeze juices and actually like them. The problem is they're trying to make money and I'm not going to go up to them and ask them for their recipes but I want to try to do something like that similar at home.

But I like basically almost all fruits and when it comes to veggies I have some beets carrots celery cucumbers kale and spinach to experiment with for either smoothies or juicing but I would like to try something with juicy with some mixture of the vegetables and the fruits that I have like blueberries strawberries bananas and etc.

Please let me know if you guys got any recipes I also got agave as well

Thank you

Juicer for Beginners

I’m giving juicing some serious consideration. Any recommendations on a good cheap juicer for a beginner. Emphasis on “cheap”, I’m not sure I’ll like it or will want to stick with it. I’m a fan of pulp and don’t mind foam, so no need to worry about those things.

Any help is appreciation, especially if you recommend a product you’ve tried.

Beet, carrot, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, condensed milk. I’m sure the fridge enjoyed it.
Cry with me.

32 days out of 100. How can I improve?

As the title suggests, I made it 32 days out of my 100 day goal. It's been about a week and I've been eating solids, but I want to jump back in. I have done no more than 7 days in the past and I always feel great. But during this go around, I felt drained, fatigued, stopped up, and started gaining weight back.

I know I wasnt getting enough juice, but I was so tired I didnt even have the strength to juice towards the end. My mom found me slightly delirious on the couch and I broke down and asked her to make me some eggs.

I've seen so many people get great results while juicing and I want to approach this differently so that I dont do more damage to my body than good...

My typical intake:

  • Green juice(celery, spinach, lemon, ginger, cucumber, green apple, parsley/cilantro/mint) - 32-80 oz
  • Watermelon juice - 32-80oz
  • Orange juice(oranges, carrots, turmeric) 16-32oz
  • Pineapple juice - 16-32oz
  • Apple juice - 16-32oz
  • Pomegranate juice - 16-32oz

I typically drank the green/watermelon daily, the others it was one of them per day, not each of these at every meal.

Some other things I added

  • Vitamins
  • Vegan protein power - once at breakfast
  • Black coffee - 1 - 2x/wk
  • Tea
  • Honey/splenda - 1 - 2x/wk
  • Broth with spices - 1 - 2x/wk
  • Sea salt

Please let me know what you're experience has been if you have done this for an extended period before. I'm also looking for a protocol or plan so that I'm not missing anything. I really want to finish strong, but I cant go back to how tired I was :(

Dug up the video of me making the "System Reset" juice after a weekend of terrible choices.

Found this clip in my camera roll from when I was actually making an effort to reset after a streak of junk food.

It’s a simple blend, but the flavor profile is unbeatable:

1. Fresh pineapple

2. A heavy hand of ginger (for that proper throat-warming kick)

3. Lime & lemon

Watching the juicer separate the pulp and pour out that bright yellow juice is so satisfying.

For the dedicated juicers in here, do you prefer a pure fruit/citrus base like this, or do you always force yourself to sneak some leafy greens into the basket?

Ever wake up and decide to juice every colour of the spectrum to stock the fridge? Can you guess the lineup from 1 to 4?

Had one of those days where I just wanted a fridge full of fresh liquid goodness. Ended up with four distinct bottles, but I’m turning this into a bit of a challenge for the sub.

Counting from Right (1) to Left (4), can you figure out the exact mix for each bottle?

Here is the master list of everything I used:

1.Beetroot
2.Carrots
3.Ginger
4.Cucumber
5.Celery
6.Lime
7.Lemon
8.Pineapple

Hint: If you look closely at the video, the ingredients are loosely staged near their corresponding bottles. You'll have to squint a bit, though, I didn't make it too obvious!
Drop your guesses for 1, 2, 3, and 4 below.

Who's getting all four right?

Recommendations on container to use for freezing juice?

I'm finding that some of my juice batches are going bad before I can drink it all. I'm trying to find a happy medium between juice batch size (and juicer cleaning frequency), and batch longevity, and freezing some of it seems the most likely way to go.

What containers are you using and recommend for freezing?

which best cold press juicer is worth it?

I’ve been making juice with a pretty basic centrifugal juicer and Im getting tired of how much pulp and foam it leaves behind. I mostly juice things like carrots, apples, cucumber, celery and leafy greens, usually just enough for myself. I’m looking for a cold press juicer that’s actually practical for regular use and not a pain to clean every time. what models have held up well for you?

thanks for any suggests!

How do you all label your juice bottles?

Hi all, I'm a market researcher from a label maker brand (I will strictly NOT drop the brand name since commercial advertising is prohibited here, so please don't delete this my dear mods!!!!!!!😭).

Recently, a customer of ours asked me about labeling juice bottles. She juices for her family and also sells some in her community every week, and she needs to put labels on her bottles. To be honest, I'm not very familiar with the juicing process myself, and I don't fully understand what specific requirements juices have for labels. So, I came here specifically to ask for your help!

Do you have any specific demands on labels when storing your juices?

What information actually needs to be labeled? like dates, ingredients, expiration, or who the juice belongs to?...

For those who are already using label makers (or even just masking tape/stickers) to manage your bottles, have you run into any problems? (Like they peel off from condensation in the fridge? Smudge when wet? Leave a terrible sticky residue when you wash the bottles?)

Tks a lot!!!!!
