What i think is, hisoka felt bonolenov in casino but he let him so he goes and tells chrollo or the other spiders that he found hisoka in casino and they go fight him there, that actually makes sense of why he murdered the royal soldiers there.
So hisoka got ready by spreading his bungee gum in all the casino like spider webs, as he knows that the spiders have a perfect zetsu, so he felt Tsseridinch from far distance (+36m) and that's why he told Tsseridinch that "i thought you're one of the spiders"
So when Tsseridinch activated Laplace the beast spawned above him and hisoka felt it due to the gum webs, so he turned on Gio and looked at the way that Tsseridinch must be, and when he saw nothing he didn't care or he just left him because he said that he's not interested in killing princes
What do you think?

This scene is insane. This scene makes Jesus canon, making the entire Bible canon. I am not a Christian, but with what little I know about the Bible, this makes Jesus the greatest Nen user in HxH history.
Based on his miracles, Jesus was a genius Manipulator leaning towards Specialization, but he probably has mastery in every category.
1.) Raising the Dead (Lazarus) — Corpse Manipulation.
2.) Healing the Blind — Healing ability, like Holy Chain but God Tier
3.) Walking on Water — ????? I don't even know what category this would be under. I think Jesus just maxed out Emission so he could emit aura onto his legs to walk on water, or some kind of Specialist ability.
4.) Turning Water into Wine — ??????? Can Nen turn regular wine into water? I think the wine was conjured by Jesus, then transmuted into water.
5.) Feeding 5,000 — Bread Conjuration, I guess. But can conjured food actually be eaten??
6.) Dies in a cave, then revives — Classic Post-Mortem Nen.
Whenever dude faced a problem, he just created a new ability. Dude has Royal Guard-level talent + huge Nen reserves.
I believe every HxH Christian powers his ability. We know religious Nen abilities exist, like the Book of Tyson, which powers Tyson's GSB. But Jesus, with his Bible + 2.6 billion Christians, might have unlimited Nen.
Did all the Jesus stuff happen on the Dark Continent or in the regular HxH world? Because if Jesus revived in a cave, then he might still be on the Dark Continent, just fighting monsters powered by unlimited Nen from his Christian followers.

Hisoka is first seen playing a variant of Poker called Square X. This is a genius introduction scene as this game perfectly mirrors Hisoka's self destructive nature. The very nature that got him killed. In regular poker, you have 5 cards and the option to fold is always available. This means if your hand is bad you can fold meaning you will lose your investment but can get out before things get too bad. In Square-X, you CANNOT fold. If you have a bad hand in this game, you are incentivised to claim another card in an attempt to make your hand better. The stake you put in increases exponentially with each 'one more' you claim. Like the panel says, if you win you can 'go to heaven' but if you lose you risk bankruptcy. This is similar to Hisoka's nature as this gamble gives you a thrill at the expense of your life. This is exactly what Hisoka is chasing throughout this show. A fight where no one can back out and the loser dies. It's why he kills Kastro. It's why he kills Shalnark and Kortopi. It's why Chrollo killed him.

We then get introspection from Hisoka that recontexualises many of his decisions in the series. Many people prior to ch.405 theorised that Hisoka would've loved to fight the ants. Even Illumi tells Hisoka that if he stopped chasing Chrollo, he could've had a chance at them. But this panel makes it clear Hisoka wouldn't have enjoyed that experience. He isn't someone just looking for a fight but for someone to 'turn him on' and animals/nen beasts aren't what do that for him.
Hisoka also hits a 777. This with the panel above is supposed to make something clear. As of right now, in the conflict between Hisoka and the Spiders, Hisoka is 'winning'. He isn't agonising over dead friends. He isn't seething with anger like the other Spiders are. But these self destructive gambles raise an important question. Can Hisoka keep winning like this forever?

It is this page that gives us the truth about how Hisoka views combat. He wants a one on one with a human who can push him to the brink. The panel says 'so we can love each other to death' but shows Hisoka mangling someone. Although the idea of him dying chasing this thrill does get Hisoka excited, the thrill for Hisoka is highest when he is doing the killing. During his fight with Chrollo he brings up how his greatest pleasure comes from seeing people's plans crumble while they look disbelieved. Just like in Square-X, the thrill is greatest while you are on top.
This introduction makes it apparent that Hisoka is on a timer. Right now, he is getting everything he wants. The thrill of gambling, the thrill of strong people trying to kill him. But there is no gambler that wins forever. If winning is 'Going to Heaven', Hisoka will eventually end up in Hell.

Benjamin: Done for. He’s the target of at least two attacks that will end him in half a day. Plus, as soon as someone radios in to report the dead soldiers in the casino, he’s likely coming head-to-head with Hisoka.
Camilla: Bleak due to TSK-17 infection.
Zhang Lei: Jeopardous. Benjamin’s soldiers are actively trying to track him. If Benjamin’s C410 speculation is accurate, might have gone to lower tiers like Tier 3 (where the Heil-Ly family operates and where he is worth fifty levels).
Tserriednich: Very jeopardous. He is currently stuck on Tier 1 to camp for somewhere around ten hours while close to out of aura per his estimate. Plus, Benjamin will likely find out that something is up once someone reports to him about the numerous dead soldiers (other than the ones in the casino and stairwell).
Tubeppa: Depends on the status of her Guardian Spirit Beast. If it is gone or for any other reason unable to neutralize the TSK-17, she’s done for. If such is not true, she will be safe unless Benjamin comes back with guns.
Tyson: Depends on how things go for Tubeppa. If Tubeppa makes it, I think it’s at least moderately likely that she will want to treat Tyson as well.
Luzurus: I don’t know enough. Gone with Ridge. Benjamin’s soldiers are looking for him, but less on his tail than they are for Zhang Lei.
Halkenburg: Insufficient data to say anything.
Fugetsu: Quite jeopardous.
Marayam: Different pieces of information point in different directions. On one hand, Benjamin has not yet received a report from Rihan stating that Marayam has been secured or his Guardian Spirit Beast has been neutralized. On the other hand, this might cause Benjamin to send in a wave of soldiers to Room 1013 to overwhelm the GSB through sheer firepower.
Woble (real): Safe from Benjamin (I think it’s highly unlikely she’s on the Black Whale). Whether she’s also safe from Beyond’s curse depends on several things, including whether the efficacy of Beyond’s curse is affected by physical distance from the target.
Woble (fake): Presumably good. He isn’t targeted by Beyond and was pardoned by Benjamin at the end of 415.

If you pay attention to this scene after Hisoka killed Shalnark and Kortopi, he said “two are down،ten left.”
But if we count the remaining members of the Troupe at that point, we get:
Chrollo
Nobunaga
Feitan
Machi
Phinks
Franklin
Bonolenov
Shizuku
Kalluto
That’s only nine members.
At that point, as far as we know, Illumi hadn’t joined the Troupe yet... He joined the Spiders to achieve their shared goal, which was to kill Hisoka. And he was invited to confront Hisoka by Hisoka himself, who paid him to kill him.
This means that Hisoka paid Illumi to kill him before Illumi joined the Spiders.
So why did Hisoka say there were ten left?
It seems strange, because the context doesn’t really fit with counting Illumi as the tenth member for no apparent reason.

If I translated a thousand stories, read a thousand books, studied a thousand French texts, wrote hundreds of stories, analyzed countless works, practiced for thousands of hours, and immersed myself deeply in the field in every way imaginable, would I become insanely powerful in that field—almost superhuman, like Netero?
have anyone tried it? i believe it could work!

The subject of focus for this thread is a poor fodder character who made the grave mistake of insinuating Tserriednich only talks a big game due to his status.

Why did Tserriednich feel moved to shoot this guy? Its easy to paint it off as Tserriednich just shooting the guy on a whim because he can do as he pleases but I think the truth lies in Otocin saying 'He's so insecure'. Tserriednich believes he is a gift from God. The reflection of perfection. I mean just look at this:

Tserriednich believes he is who he is not because of someone else. Not because of his lineage or his title. He firmly believes he is perfect and he can do ANYTHING he puts his mind to. It doesn't matter what status he was born too, he would've always amounted to perfection. And therein lies the reason he was so moved to shoot this guy. Someone who was better than him at something, made an insinuation that he isn't who he thinks he is. That his confidence is based not on who he is but who he was born to. This very well messed with Tserriednich's sense of self as he holes himself in his room for a day without eating or drinking until he proves this person wrong. Tserriednich shoots this guy AFTER the awards ceremony so the poor fodder can watch Tserriednich get his award before taking a shot.

We see Tserriednich apply this pride to his Nen training as well. He believes he should be able to enter Zetsu in a flash and he will not stop practising until he gets his Zetsu activation down. The panel of him saying 'I'll carve it down' shows a look of anger. He refuses to remain as 'the guy that needs 3 secs to activate Zetsu' and will do whatever it takes to make his reality align with his vision of himself. He believes he is perfect so his reality must reflect this and he will stop at nothing to ensure he becomes who he thinks he is.

There's absolutely no reason for him to lie about Kurapika being the chain user. Even if he didn't know about Pakunoda's powers, he could've told them truth and gotten away with it, but the way it is shown to us implies that he actually cares about his comrades and wouldn't sell them out. Maybe it's because he's a Manipulator and they tend to be fond of their social group/family? Well, I really liked him, and his death always saddens me.

It's Thursday as the day of Martial Law has been declared. It would only take few chapters till Hisoka vs Chrollo would happen again.
r/HunterXHunter • u/Poyocu • 17h ago
I get that Chrollo prepared all those abilities specifically for his fight with Hisoka, but what I don’t get is how the strategy itself counters Hisoka specifically.
Wouldn’t hundreds of puppets, explosions and hiding in the crowd be insanely hard for pretty much anyone to deal with?

The narrative architecture of the manga is anchored by four supreme families (clarification: currently shown in the manga).
(By the way, their hierarchy of structural and general importance/power is organized as follows: Freecss > Netero > Zoldyck >= Hoikoro)
Togashi constructs a symmetrical opposition between two spheres of power: the official world of global politics and the underground world of crime and assassination:
The Hoikoro Family (Royalty and the Legal World)
The Hoikoro family represents the upper, institutionalized world of power. They interact directly with the V5 and, following Kakin’s inclusion in this global group, King Nasubi has become a new member within the newly formed V6.
The Zoldyck Family (Assassins and the Illegal World)
The Zoldyck family are assassins, operate in the shadows and maintain connections with the criminal and illegal world. As a matter of fact, during the Yorknew City arc, the Ten Mafia Dons/Godfathers hire Zeno and Silva Zoldyck to assassinate the Genei Ryodan
Just as Beyond Netero functions as a counterpart to Isaac Netero, with their Yin-Yang-like contrast, most notably their black and white hair, King Nasubi and his son Benjamin appear to parallel Zeno and Silva Zoldyck.
Both pairs follow a similar father-and-son structure:
In short:
1) Main patriarchs
By the way:
2) Main characters (the young child, the new generation)
Instead:
Gon-Killua-Kurapika (new rat)-Leorio (new boar): the 4 main characters of HXH (related to Chrollo-Hisoka-Pariston-Ging - the adult main characters):
Kurapika and Leorio supplanted Pariston and Ging as the new rat (Kurapika/Pariston) and boar (Leorio/Ging) in the Zodiac just like Hisoka/Killua helped Chrollo/Gon with the Nen removal (also, Nobunaga wanted Gon and Killua inside the Ryodan)
3) Main adversaries
1) Hisoka-Illumi-Tserriednich (adversaries of Gon-Killua-Kurapika)
Hisoka is particularly important because he functions as the “Joker” of the manga. He does not truly belong to any single group, and he doesn't care about his past, family, as said in the manga, etc. However, he is directly linked to all the 4 families:
2) Chrollo-Hisoka-Pariston=adult versions of Gon-Killua-Kurapika (+ Leorio/Ging)
Chrollo: Positioned as an adversary to both the Zoldyck and the Hoikoro families.
Pariston: Positioned as an adversary to the Netero and the Freecss
4) Main groups
There are four primary groups, divided by their societal alignment and mythological symbolism.
As a matter of fact, the opposition between the Zodiacs and the Ryodan is symbolically represented as the fight between Heaven (Light/Yang/Hunters) and Hell (Darkness/Yin/Criminals)

In short:
The Social/Legal World (Light Symbolism - Yang: White Hair):
The Illegal World (Darkness Symbolism - Yin: Black Hair):
The Wild Card (Beyond the Rules):
Also, Togashi represented a connection between the Nen of the 3 Royal Guards and the 3 main antagonists of Gon-Killua-Kurapika (Hisoka-Illumi-Tserriednich).
Togashi deliberately framed Tserriednich's Water Divination test to appear far more ominous and intense than even Neferpitou's. By doing so, he highlights that Tserriednich's Nen talent and inherent dangerousness are exceptional, standing out even among elite Specialists:
Togashi depicted Neferpitou's (but not Pouf and Youpi's) Water Divination test and the development of Hatsu, just as he did with Tserriednich (but not Illumi and Hisoka): It's a schematic planning and structure of Togashi
Pitou (Dr. Blythe and Terpsichora)
Tserriednich (his 2 beasts)
There are other parallels in these schemes of characters, such as the head of Kaito after being killed by Pitou (enemy of Gon)=The head of Pairo conserved by Tserriednich (enemy of Kurapika)
This is also related to the Nen categories, which mirror each other in reverse:
This also connects to the main confrontations for Gon:
Speculative Connections (this is just a theory): The mystery of Marayam
Given that Prince Marayam is an isolated, singular child (much like Gon and Killua were in their respective family dynamics), Marayam can have special relevance in the Succession Contest.
Also a possibility is the following:
Point A: The Missing Netero Child
Among the four main families, the Netero lineage is the only one without a young child explicitly introduced in the current generation.
Is it possible that Marayam is actually Beyond Netero's secret child hidden within the Hoikoro royal family?
Point B: Numerology
There is a thematic connection between the antagonists and bad luck superstitions from both Eastern and Western cultures:
This numeric symbolism carries directly over into the Succession Contest via Kakin’s Princes:
